Former Big Brother housemate Nicky Maxwell has said that she is glad BB is drawing to a close and admitted that she thinks the format has “run its course.”

Speaking to The Watford Observer Nicky added:

“It’s got too much and gone too far. You have got fans that will always watch it but people have got bored of watching fame hungry people running around. There’s too much reality television now.

“But I don’t regret doing it. I’m just happy I was strong enough to do something positive with it.”

Nicky spent 52 days as a housemate on Big Brother eight and was evicted on July 21st 2007 after Britain became fed up with her constant moaning. Working now as a community fundraiser, the 30 year old was born in Bombay and was adopted at the age of one from one of Mother Theresa’s orphanages.

She says that she doesn’t regret taking part in the show but admitted that she did struggle with the public’s hatred of her after leaving the Elstree residence.

“When you walk out of those doors it’s not the glitz and glamour people think,” she said.

“When I heard the boos, that’s the only snippet of what I could expect after seven weeks of how the public saw me. I was absolutely terrified.”

After watching other housemates selling their stories to anyone who would print it, Nicky said she stopped watching TV and reading magazines altogether. She added:

“I was famous but what was I famous for? I didn’t want to be another Big Brother ex-housemate in the paper getting my clothes off.

“I like having fun and that didn’t come across. That was the most heartbreaking thing.”

“Big Brother was a good experience and made me reflect on myself. I have never been able to forget it, but now it’s coming to an end I feel I have closed a door with it.”

Moany Nicky, looked shocked at such obvious dislike for her and couldn’t understand why the public hadn’t seen her fun side. Either she has a seriously warped self image or Big brother producers have done some seriously manipulative editing over the last few weeks.

Nicky will be no big loss to the house, but as the tension begins to heighten and the end comes into sight, the cracks will begin to widen over the next week or two. Expect Charley to step up her game!

Gerry and Nicky have found themselves up for eviciton this week, though I think we can safely assume that it’s bye bye Nicky.

As the results were announced Gerry commented:

“Yeah, why not? I do want to go through this. It’s my destiny.”

“There’s nothing I can do – all I can do is wait and enjoy the party tomorrow.”

Nicky remarked that she was “cool” with being nominated.

“I’m really pleased – it says something to me that I’m going up against a strong character,” she said.

Nicky has told anyone that will listen, how much she likes Liam, and while Liam has seemed to humour her, and certainly has not fought off her advances, it appears that he is not as interested as she is.

Liam admitted in the diary room on Saturday night that he had engaged in “harmless flirting” but said: “I don’t share her feelings.”

Nicky will definitely be a man hater now!
