Nicola Marie was probably never going to do well on The X Factor, considering the fact that Gary Barlow hated her during her first audition.
He branded her ‘irritating’ and Nicola was devastated when she found out that the Take That star would be her mentor for the year.
Gary took her to one side before she sang and promised her that he would judge her on her singing and nothing else…he said ‘don’t be beaten…please don’t be!’
However didn’t help her cause, when she turned up to judges houses and delivered a rather cheesy and quite tuneless rendition of Tragedy by Steps.
Gary looked thoroughly unimpressed with her delivery and his assistant Cheryl wasn’t please either but diplomatically said:

Carolynne Poole must have been nervous when she performed at judges houses earlier this year, after all it’s the point where things went wrong on her X Factor journey in 2011.
The former Emmerdale actress travelled to Miami to sing for Kelly Rowland with five other hopefuls last year but was eliminated before live shows began. It must have been a strange experience for her then to go through it all again, when she made Gary Barlow’s judges houses round.

The overs had a bit of a surprise waiting for them when they rolled up to the X Factor’s judges houses earlier this month.
Melanie Masson, Nicola Marie, Christoher Maloney, Carolynne Poole, Brad Shackleton and Kye Sones already knew there was a good chance they’d be mentored by Gary Barlow but none of them were expecting that he would be assisted by Cheryl Cole, after her departure from the show last year.

Tonight saw the conclusion of bootcamp on the 2012 X Factor series and the episode was filled with emotional performances from more than 70 acts, all desperate to make the grade and reach the next stage of the competition.
The panel had to pick just 24 acts, from more than 70 who sang in Liverpool’s Echo Arena and after choosing their six girls and six boys, Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Tulisa Contostavlos turned their attentions to the over 28′s.

On tonight’s X Factor show, viewers will become aware that there is a problem brewing backstage for contestants Hayley Evetts and Nicola-Marie.
On the first night of bootcamp the girls were grouped together with Tammy Cartwright and told they would be performing as a trio for the judges. However, just before their performance, Tammy was nowhere to be seen having decided to leave the competition for personal reasons.

Nicola Marie made her TV debut on tonight’s X Factor show, but her performance wasn’t as well received as she might have hoped.
The 35 year old singer from Derby is a professional Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse tribute act and it seems that Gary Barlow is getting a bit fed up with all the derivative singers as after her performance he admitted that he hadn’t been blown away.
Nicola was obviously desperate to impress the panel, believing that this was her last chance and that as a singer in her mid thirties, it was make or break time for her. Her biggest claim to fame to date has been a performance – as Amy Winehouse – at Vicky Entwistle’s 40th birthday.

Nicola Marie will be seen splitting the judges on tonight’s X Factor show.
The 35 year old singer is a Amy Winehouse/Lady Gaga tribute act from Derby and comes across as a little bit fame hungry and slightly desperate, when she appears on the ITV show.
Before taking to the stage the wannabe told Dermot O’Leary:
“My saying is, when I’m watching stuff on the telly is, I wanna live on the telly, I wanna live in the telly with the people on the telly. I wanna be in the telly now!”
