Former Coronation Street actress Nikki Sanderson is said to have signed up to take part in this years series of Dancing On Ice.

The girl better known as Candice, reportedly turned down a place in I’m A celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and opted for the more glamorous Dancing On Ice. She’s probably thinking of the costumes!

She may have been booted off X Factor – Battle Of The Stars for having a throat infection, but her exit from the show certainly hasn’t harmed Ex Coronation Street star, Nikki Sanderson’s career.

In fact the show raised her profile so much that her agent is working day and night fielding enquiries and job offers that are flooding in for Nikki.

Carol Godby, Nikki’s agent said

“She was offered a recording contract six months ago and also a different one 12 months prior to that but her real passion is acting, that’s the way she really wants to go.

“I know that the office has been inundated since her appearance on the show, from press and casting agents and there may well be some more music offers there, so watch this space.”

After leaving Coronation Street earlier this year, Nikki Sanderson (AKA Candice) is now due to appear on our screens again, this time in The X Factor – Battle Of The Stars

“Taking part on this show is a mile apart from my normal acting jobs,” said Sanderson. “There won’t be the opportunity to re-take any fluffed lines and I’ll only get one shot each night to prove myself.â€?

Nikki Sanderson (born 28th March 1984) is a British actress who is best known for playing Candice Stowe in the television soap opera Coronation Street. She joined the soap in 1999 and left in Autumn 2005. In 2006 she acted in the BBC television series New Street Law alongside other notable Coronation Street alumni Chris Gascoyne and Chris Bisson.

Born on March 28, 1984 in Bury, Lancashire, England, UK, her other television appearance was in Children’s Ward. Though a skilled actress, her talent is great and extends beyond screen acting to both drama and singing. A naturally gifted vocalist, Nikki loves to show this side of her character off, jumping up to sing at every opportunity, she is a self confessed karaoke addict. Recently she has made several television appearances singing, most notably on ITV’s Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes, where her impressive rendition of LeAnn Rimes, singing the smash hit theme from the movie Coyote Ugly ‘Cant Fight The Moonlight’ earned her the much coveted winners spot. Though she hopes to perhaps one day pursue a music career acting remains her first love. Her former boyfriend was fellow former Coronation Street actor Danny Young, but is now rumoured to be dating multi-millionaire playboy Mark Ritchie.

She has appeared in several men’s magazines in Britain in lingerie and other provocative outfits, securing her a reputation as glamour model alongside her career as an actress.

In May 2006 Nikki played for the England women’s team in the Celebrity World Cup Soccer Six tournament and put in a stout performance, helping her team to the final which they eventually lost.
