Oh the outrage, the controversy! Three people complained to OFCOM because Patrick Kielty called Colin Murray a “big gayer” for crying on stage.

Political correctness gone overboard…I think so!

Fame Acadmey judge, Richard Parks, has admitted that he wishes the BBC would get rid of Patrick Kielty and he has suggested Fame Academy hopeful Fred MacAulay to take his place.

Richard said: “If we can find someone who has performed in it like Fred, and if he’s risen to the occasion and people have seen his personality, why not make the change?

“Fred has every chance of presenting Fame Academy.

“So let’s see how he does on the show because who knows what the opportunities might be.”

On the departure of Cat Deeley from the show he commented “Unfortunately Cat Deeley can’t be involved because of US commitments (she’s replaced by Claudia Winkleman) and in my view they lost the wrong one.” Meow!

Patrick Kielty has never been one to mince his words. But he used to be quite likeable. His latest nasty tirade to The Sun about his former co host Cat Deeley left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

He told The Sun: “If she wants to make vast sums of money in one of the few countries that didn’t sign up to the trade agreement, then she doesn’t care about aid at all.

“I’m glad I’m hosting with Claudia Winkleman now.

“It’s good to be working with someone who wants to be here.

“Cat’s turned her back on us. Good luck to her and her capitalism.”

The BBC and Comic Relief today announced the names of the 13 celebrities set to surprise the nation and go head to head in the definitive, celebrity singing competition.

Regular host Patrick Kielty will be joined by Claudia Winkleman who moves over from BBC Three, to preside over the live event from Fame Academy’s new and fitting venue, the Debating Chamber in London’s County Hall.

Been away from the telly for a couple of evenings, so I hit the web this evening to find out what’s been going on. Here’s the Love Island update:

Austrailian model Emily Scott has been ejected from Love Island. A bit of a shame, since she hadn’t really had a chance to shine since arriving on Love Island what seems like half-an-hour earlier.

From what I hear she’d been doing a decent job of keeping Cockroach Paul Danan away from the other girls on the Island – I hope they were grateful to her. Milo’s not surprised, though – she was never going to survive against an original Islander!

Apparently Patrick Keilty has put his foot in it slightly by insulting Bianca Gascoigne’s mum, Cheryl:

Presenters Matt Brown and Jayne Middlemiss apologised to Sheryl, a guest on the show, for showing the footage [of Leo and Bianca in the shower together], but Patrick said, “I’m not apologising. Why should we apologise? We’re only showing the behaviour.

“You should apologise, not us. The way Mary Kielty brought me up you would not catch me in the shower… with Leo.”

Maybe ‘Father’ Shane Lynch’s Christian values are starting to rub off on Kielty a bit? Watch for PK fussing about the beach house trying to get the girls to cover up and lecturing the boys on sex out of wedlock

And another celeb mother has weighed in on the presenters: Sophie Anderton’s mum has ‘blasted’ Kielty and co-host Fearne Cotton for being biased about her daughter. Better yet, she claims that “Beautiful people can be alienated and that’s what is happening here”.

What does that say about her opinion of Sophie? Does ‘beautiful’ define her? Has she no other redeeming features than her looks? Shame on you Sophie’s mum.

Then again, with her doctor and her best friend chipping in with their views…

Love Island 2006 presenter Fearne Cotton has made no secret of the fact that she hopes to find love on this years series of Love Island.

Cotton told a friend, “Just because I’m not a star on the show, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to find love. Those girls had better watch out because I’ll be drooling over those hunks in trunks and might just steal one for myself!”

Show sources also believe that a relationship could develop between Fearne and co-host Patrick Kielty.

One insider told the Daily Star, “He’s quite taken with her. They have been getting on really well and have a really good chemistry together. Plus they’re both single. Watch this space.”
