On last night Britain’s Got More Talent a discussion arose about whether or not singers should be allowed to enter the show. Many people hold the opinion that singers should stick to the X Factor and leave BGT for the dancers etc.

Paul Potts Will Return For Britain’s Got Talent Semi-Final

Former Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts will be returning to the show this month and performing on one of the semi-finals.

Paul won the show in 2007 and has since been touring the world and performing sell out concerts almost constantly. This month he’ll be back to show the new hopefuls how its done.

Paul Potts Wins German Echo Award: In Pictures

Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts has scooped a highly coveted German Echo Award.

The Echo Awards are comparable to the Brit Awards, with the main difference being that nominations and awards are based purely on record sales and chart position and are not dependant on jury voting. Paul was nominated for two awards, Best Male international Artist Rock/Pop – other nominees in this category were Kid Rock, Lenny Kravitz, David Garrett, Jack Johnson and Album of Year National/International – other nominees in this category were Udo Lindenberg, Amy Winehouse, AC/DC, Ich Ich. Paul Potts Is A Massive Hit In Korea

Yesterday we brought you a great shot of Britain’s Got Talent winner, Paul Potts, standing at the top of Sydney Harbour Bridge, and today we have a fabulous video showing just what a universal appeal the singer really has.

As part of his recent tour, Paul spent some time in Korea. I don’t think even he could have predicted how massive he was in the country or the extent of his popularity. Paul arrived for what he thought would be a normal press conference, and was instead greeted by more than 200 journalists with 100 camera flashes firing at him.

VIDEO: Paul Potts Conquers Australia!

In less than a year, Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts, has conquered the world with his voice, and most recently Paul toured Australia, playing in venues like the Sydney Opera House.

One of Paul’s highlights of his Australian tour his climb of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Paul told us:

“I did the Sydney bridge climb. It was awesome, with wonderful views of the harbour and the city. Went up with one other person, a warehouse manager from Manchester. It was really cool, normally you are in groups of 12 and have no time to see anything. My wife wouldn’t do it with me, although she says she may do it the next time we are there. I would definitely do it again!”

Paramount Making Movie About Paul Potts!

Britian’s Got Talent winner, Paul Potts just keeps going from strength to strength! He has been selling millions of records and performing to millions of people all over the world, and now Paramount, one of Hollywood’s biggest movie studios is going to make a film based on his life!

Variety.com reports that Simon Cowell, the man behind Britain’s Got Talent, on which Paul was discovered will produce the film with Relevant Entertainment’s Michael Menchel and Steve Whitney.

Simon has himself admitted that when he first saw Paul, he didn’t expect great things, but in the end was floored by the power of his voice.

“That particular day was one of the worst, the acts were just terrible, we were fed up and on comes this guy with a funny little suit and bad teeth who looked very nervous,” Cowell told Daily Variety. “I can remember looking at the other judges, with that ‘here we go again’ feeling. We had 2,000 people in the audience, and I’ll never forget how much the room changed when he began singing.”

Menchel was originally made aware of Potts by his daughters, who showed him the infamous YouTube clips, and he called Simon to suggest a movie. Paramount execs needed only to watch the YouTube clips to get behind the idea. Read more & comment »

Britains Got Talent: Paul Potts Worried About Leaving Carphone Warehouse

Britians Got Talent winner, Paul Potts, has admitted that he is getting nervous about giving up his job at The Carphone Warehouse.

When Paul won the ITV talent show, his employer allowed him six months leave, but the time is nearing when Paul is going to have to make a definite decision about his future.

“Everyone has their insecurities, you never know if it could all end tomorrow,” Potts told the Daily Mail. “When I won Britain’s Got Talent, Carphone Warehouse gave me six months off so I suppose I’ll have to decide by Christmas.”

Paul has become a hit across the world following his talent show victory, but he has confessed that he is confused by his success.

“The past six months have been mind-boggling,” Paul revealed. “I don’t know why people like me. I’m just me and I just love doing what I’m doing and being able to sing. Read more & comment »
