Paula Abdul is rumoured to be leaving American Idol to launch her own Las Vegas stage show.
The choreographer is said to think that the time is right to leave the US talent show so she can work on the live show which has a Cirque-Du Soleil/cheerleader theme.
“She’s secretly putting together an exit strategy. No one knows whether Paula will be back for another season of Idol after this one, but she’s preparing for the future and she sees her future in Las Vegas,” a source told the National Enquirer.

American Idol judge, Paula Abdul has revealed that she is thinking about adopting a baby in the next three to five years.
Abdul, 44, told Now: “I do [want children]. I’ll probably adopt because I think it’ll be in the next three to five years.
“I wouldn’t necessarily adopt from abroad like some celebs. I just want a healthy baby.”
However, this doesn’t mean that marriage is on the cards for Ms Abdul, as she admitted last week that she was in no rush to get hitched to boyfriend JT Torregiani.

American Idol judge, Paula Abdul has told People Magazine that she has no immediate plans to get hitched to her current boyfriend, JT Torregiani.
“I’m very sceptical about having to have a document that binds your love together,” the American Idol judge reportedly said.
“I know for him, marriage is an important thing, so it’s kind of one of those things I have to balance out.”
I think it is JT that needs to do the balancing out. After watching clips like this, I wonder how anyone could consign themselves to a lifetime with the crazy Paula Abdul!

At the beginning of this week’s episode, Paula has called a production meeting to discuss media strategy following allegations of drink and drug abuse which appeared in the press after the American Idol press tour.
An emotional Paula declares “enough is enough”, she will not have her reputation ruined, this is a crisis. The meeting becomes particularly heated when PR Jeff and producing partner David attempt to tackle the situation. However it is decided that Paula must honour her up coming commitments and use them as an opportunity to set the record straight.
The first of these commitments is a gift suite in LA. At these events celebrities are offered free designer items in exchange for publicity photos wearing their pieces. Paula is concerned that no one will want to be associated with her after her recent negative portrayal in the media and her feelings show on arrival. It isn’t long however before she gets in to the swing of things and even has a mini-tantrum over a dress she can not have as it is hold for someone else. Read more & comment »

UPDATE: We now have a great video clip from tonight’s show here.
This week on Hey Paula, Paula’s hectic schedule kicks off in New York, where she is due to receive the Fashion Icon Award from the YMA scholarship fund. Things are not looking too good when, already running over an hour late, Paula glances at her speech for the first time and admits “this speech might be the biggest disaster of my life”. Arriving at the venue she has missed dinner and just makes it to the stage in time to collect her award, only to be handed her unfamiliar speech upside down with the pages in the wrong order. It looks like her earlier statement is becoming reality, until Paula turns to flattery to please her audience.

So I was channel hopping tonight after spending half an hour drooling over Jason Donovan in Echo Beach when I remembered that ITV2 were showing the first episode of Paula Abdul’s new reality TV show, Hey Paula. Well given that I run a reality TV blog, I felt it was only right that I tune in.
I have seen Paula before, mostly on American Idol, and I always thought she was a little weird, perhaps a little unbalanced…..little did I know.
As the show progressed it became obvious that Paula has been in the spotlight for so long, she has completley lost her grasp of reality. One part of the show saw her horrible little rat dogs running around her bed with millions of pounds worth of diamonds in their mouths. You can catch the clip here. Not to be patronising, but if someone is going to spend that amount of money for something their dog chews on, wouldn’t it be better spent feeding actual needy people?
Paula was often seen speaking to her staff like they were dirt on her shoe, despite the fact that these people may not have slept in two nights due to her constant demands. She almost missed a flight which was bringing her to appear on the QVC shopping channel, after she threw a massive diva fit because her assistant packed the wrong jeans. NEWSFLASH!! Pack yourself next time!
My favourite quote of the night has to be the show closer: Read more & comment »

I have always thought that Paula had more than a few screws loose, and after watching this clip below, where she allows her horrible little rat dogs to eat millions of pounds worth of diamonds, I know I was right!

Part 1
This week on American Idol four more contestants will be sent home, two boys and two girls. In this first part of the show the boys step forward to prove to Simon, Randy and Paula that they have what it takes to earn themselves a place in the final twelve. Each boy will have to just one chance impress, so wrong notes, fluffed lyrics or a bad stage presence will be sure to count against them and will certainly decide the fate of the two being sent home.
Part 2
In the second part of this week’s American Idol it’s now the girls turn to take centre stage. They’ve watched the boys perform earlier and have witnessed how ruthless the judges can be. Like the boys they only have one chance to impress Simon, Randy and Paula. Any mistakes could cost them a place in the final twelve, so knowing that two contestants are going to be sent home will make sure the girls really feel the pressure.
Part 3
After their nerve-racking performances earlier in the week it’s now judgement time, and the stress shows no sign of disappearing until the judges have given their verdict. Expect variety of emotions on display; for as eight contestants there will be elation, jubilation and relief. But the remaining four contestants will face their worst nightmare, being sent home from American Idol. Expect tears and tantrums as dreams of pop superstardom are crushed.

Sources close to American Idol judge Paula Abdul have hit back at media claims that Paula was drunk or on behaviour altering medication during interviews last week.
Paula’s spokesman, Jeff Ballard, insisted the odd behaviour was a result of tiredness:
“She was exhausted. This was at the end of three days of press (interviews and appearances), and she has had cameras following her around for a reality TV show too.
“She was sitting in a room with just a camera and a mic on, and the controllers dropped the sound twice, which is why she rolled her eyes…
“She never drinks. I have known Paula Abdul since she was 13, and I have never seen her drink ever in my life. And no, she is not on any kind of medication. She was a little tired.”

THE X FACTOR’s guest judge Paula Abdul is putting herself up for auction to raise money for charity.
The starting price for a VIP date with twice-divorced Paula, 44, is $25,000 on eBay and the auction ends on September 24.
Paula is offering two first class plane tickets, shopping trip on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills and the chance to watch a recording of the US TV talent show.
The proceeds will be donated to help Multiple Sclerosis sufferers.
So far there are no bids. How embarrassing it would be if no one bid on Paula. I would certainly pay to see the look on her face!

Paula Abdul was the first in a long line of celebrity guests to appear on the newest series of the X Factor.
Simon Cowell flew Paula to the UK in order to appear as a guest judge for the London auditions.
Paula Abdul has since commented on how surprised she was by the weirdness of the British auditionees!
Abdul says, “In America we have our share of weirdness, but I’ve never seen contestants who are so persistent when you’re told no. In the US they take the criticism and walk but this was freakishly enjoyable.”
