X Factor 2012: Judge’s mentor, Sinitta to make a pop comeback (sorry to break the bad news!)

It would seem that 80′s one hit wonder, Sinitta, has finally given hope that her ex-boyfriend, Simon Cowell, will reinvent her and resurrect her far from fabulous singing career, and is threatening to make a come-back all by herself, according to the Daily Star newspaper.

Sinitta, who dated the music mogul back in the day of yester-year, has made a regular appearance on his popular ITV talent show, The X Factor, as a mentor to both him and Louis Walsh, but has spoken out recently about how she was disappointed at continually being passed up for any of the many vacant X Factor judging positions, both in the UK and the US versions.

Pete Waterman says Geri Halliwell & her dog convinced him to stop appearing on reality TV shows

There was a time when Stock, Aitken and Waterman mogul Pete Waterman was – in a television sense – like s**t in a cow field; you simply couldn’t avoid him, no matter what channel you tuned in to.

He had pivotal roles in Popstars: The Rivals, The Hit Man and Her – with Michaela Strachan as his co-host – and Pop Idol, but it seems his decision to suddenly quit reality TV came when Spice Girl Geri Halliwell brought her dog on to the set of Popstars, prompting Pete to ask himself, “When she came in and put the dog on her lap, I thought: ‘What am I actually doing here?’”

Adding that he felt reality TV had become “a pantomime” and in particular, of Popstars, Pete went on to say, “In our contract with ITV, there were all these rules about what you could and could not do on screen… Read more & comment »

Pete Waterman: ‘X Factor winner will retreat into musical oblivion.’

pete_waterman

Former Pop Idol judge Pete Waterman has claimed that Simon Cowell will be the real winner of this year’s X Factor and that the actual winner will find him or herself retreating into ‘musical oblivion.’

Pete Waterman: ‘X Factor is a freak and geek show’

pete_waterman

Pete Waterman has hit out at ITV’s X Factor, saying that it is more about the judges than the contestants.

Writing in The Independent, Waterman described The X Factor as “the greatest television show in the world – but that’s not talent”.

He continued: “The problem for me is that kids believe that this is a talent show. It’s not. It’s a freak and geek show. It’s about ratings. That Cheryl Cole has sold more downloads as the judge than the winner of The X Factor proves that it’s a bigger promotion for the judges than it is the contestants on the show.”
