Outgoing Strictly Come Dancing competitor Phil Tufnell has admitted that whilst he loved being on the BBC show, he will be glad to go back to his own life.
Phil told The Sun:
“It’s a bit of a shame not to be involved but it’s lovely to get back into the swing of normal life.
Phil Tufnell has admitted that he isn’t the most committed Strictly Come Dancing contestant, revealing that he often practices for less than half the time of the the other celebrities.
Phil and partner Katya Virshilas will make their solo debut on the show tonight, when they will perform a slow waltz.
Tufnell told The Mirror: “I think we are going to be the bad ballroom couple of Strictly this year. We don’t spend nine hours every day training. It’s more like three to four.
Phil Tufnel is said to have angered his Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Virshilas by his lack of commitment to the show.
Tufnell allegedly skipped dance rehearsals last week, leaving Virshilas high and dry.
A source told the Daily Mail: “This is Katya’s first time on Strictly and she really wants to do well. Obviously it’s down to the public how far they both get, but she wants to put on the best possible performance.
Cricket star Phil Tufnell is having second thoughts about appearing on this yers Strictly Come Dancing series.
After winning I’m A Celeb you’d think that Tufnell would be used to reality TV, however on his Twitter page Phil said that the current 10/1 odds on him winning were unbelievable.
He moaned: “It should be at least 20. I have to wear high heels niiice. My God wot have I done? I’m bricking it, I’m going to need all the support I can get.”
Phil Tufnell (Strictly Come Dancing partner is Katya Virshilas)
All-round cheeky chappy, Phil Tufnell is nothing short of an English cricketing legend. To some, he was the bad boy of English cricket; outspoken and anti-establishment. To most he was one of the finest spin-bowlers to have worn the three-lions shirt in recent years, playing in numerous test matches and one day internationals. His wise cracking, wide-boy image made him a folk hero to the travelling Barmy Army cricketing fans.
