The Apprentice’ star Kate Walsh might have got further in the boardroom, but her boyfriend (and fellow ‘Apprentice’ star) Phil Taylor insists he’s going to be the boss of the ballroom!

‘Strictly’ pro-dancer Karen Hardy is giving dance fans Phil, 29, and Kate, 27, a treat with some expert dance classes. The pair are tango’ing every day this week on Kate’s show, ‘Live From Studio Five’, but after witnessing his first attempt, Little Miss Showbiz wasn’t impressed!

‘It’s not as bad as it looks, honest! I hate to admit it, but Miss Twinkletoes Walsh is better than me at the moment, I can’t believe it because I’m a mint dancer in nightclubs!’ laughed Phil. ‘I promise by the end of the week it will be a different story!’

And even the skin-tight, sparkly lycra outfits aren’t enough to put him off going on next year’s show. ‘I’m a massive fan of ‘Strictly,’ he told me. ‘I’d love to be a contestant on the show, it’s a total institution!’

Wonder what Sir Alan would make of the sight of Phil in sequins and a spray tan?

Throughout the week the Live From Studio Five audience can follow Kate and her partner Philip Taylor’s progress as they are taught a series of challenging dance routines by Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hardy. On Friday they will be facing their very own panel of judges, performing in front of Ian, Melinda and a special guest judge who will mark their skills.

Apprentice candidate Phillip Taylor has admitted that Kate Walsh is just the sort of woman he’d like to marry.

Phillip was fired from the show last week for being too cocky and shooting his mouth off but the experience left him with more than just honed business skills, he also got a girlfriend thrown in for free.

In an interview with Heat magazine Phil opened up about his and Kate’s relationship saying:

“Well you always dream of marrying a beautiful woman don’t you – put it this way if I was going to marry anyone I’d like it to be her.”

He also opened up about their first kiss while filming the BBC show.

Phil said: “It was after task three – we were hanging out with each other before the boardroom meeting. I told Kate to close her eyes and when she did I lent in and kissed her! She was laughing at me but I knew at that point she liked me too.

“We were slipping each other kisses here and there and there were lots of stolen moments. When we were in the lounge we’d sneakily hold hands or if the lights were down a bit of a kiss.”

Phil is so besotted with Kate that he is he is relocating to be nearer to her.

He said: “We were worried about when we got out that the distance would be a problem but we talked about it and decided that we would make it work and in fact I am going to move closer to where Kate lives to make it work which is a big decision for me – my feelings for Kate have made me want to take that risk.”

Apprentice candidates Phillip Taylor and Kate Walsh may look all loved up now but rumour has it that Kate was not the Phillip’s first choice.

Paula Jones, who was fired from the show in week four, reportedly claimed that Phillip tried to bed her in the early days of filming but after she rebuffed him, he moved on to wooing Kate.

The People report that Paula told a friend: “It was obvious from the moment we met that he wanted to bed me. One night he tried to pull me on to a sofa but I wasn’t having any of it.

“He kept calling me Jessica Rabbit from the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit and playfully slapped my bottom. He even compared me to the back of a racing car, saying my bottom was all trim and full of oomph. I just laughed in his face.”

Asked to make an official statement, human resources consultant Paula said: “Sorry, I can’t comment. I am still contracted to the show.”

Seriously? Seriously? Sir Alan fired Phillip? He may have been no business mastermind but he was the only decent piece of eye candy on this years Apprentice. I am more than a little gutted tonight.

This week’s task was another sales based one and one in which most candidates struggled. In fairness I do think they were slightly set up by Sir Alan and co, I don’t think even the countries leading salesperson could sell large quantities of a dog’s lead designed to be used by lurvers or a cat’s cardboard aeroplane.

Mona and Empire had a decent week and managed to sell over £4500 worth of sleeping bags. It is fair to say that Mona really redeemed herself this week and that team would never have won without her.

Ignite lagged way behind with only £1300 worth of sales. The team were split into two groups and the sub-group containing Ben, Kate and Phillip didn’t shift a thing.

I am really surprised that team leader Lorraine made any sales at all. I don’t know a lot about selling but I do know that people will take you more seriously if you wash your hair and look basically clean. Good personal hygiene goes a long way in all circles.

After being dressed down by Sir Alan, Lorraine decided to bring Kate and Phillip back into the boardroom with her. She was convinced that their lack of sales may have had something to with their lack of focus on the task, caused by their burgeoning romance. I have to say in Kate’s defence, I would be distracted if I was pressed against Phillip on the back seat of a swish car.

In the final meeting, Phillip made it plainly obvious that he detested Lorraine when speaking to Sir Alan. In fact he was way too vocal about his irrational hatred, he got shirty and rude with the big Sir A, and took exception to being told that he wasn’t all that good. He should have taken Ben’s approach and said nothing. It was a sound strategy on this occasion.

So Phillip went home and now we are left to ogle big faced Ben, village idiot James or Howard, who bats for the other team. Not much of a choice is it?

The romance between The Apprentice’s Phillip and Kate has been well documented but on tonight’s episode we will get to the the pair ‘at it’ for the first time.

Phil and Kate are supposed to be working on a task under the leadership of Lorraine Tighe but instead they spend most of their time flirting in the back of the car.

When Lorraine asks them to focus, Kate, 27, just shrugs: “I am not sure what else we can do.” And Philip, 29, suggests: “Let’s go to the pub.”

An irate Lorraine later tells the cameras: “I want to know what is causing all the distractions. And I hope for Kate, Phil and Ben’s sake it is not Kate’s beauty.”

A show source added: “Kate and Philip are mixing business with pleasure – and it’s not having a positive effect on them selling.

“Their relationship is a big part of this week’s show.”

Apprentice candidate Phillip Taylor has been loving all the female attention he ahs been getting according to reports in the Daily Star.

Taylor may claim to be “blissfully happy” in his relationship with fellow candidate Kate Walsh, but people have suggested that he isn’t letting that get in the way of the females who have bombarded him since he appeared on the BBC reality TV show.

A female worker at jewellery shop Le Beado, next to Taylor’s estate agency, told the Daily Star Sunday: “I’m sorry to say that he loves himself. We get people coming in and asking whether ‘Phillip from The Apprentice’ works next door. We tell them he does and they go and ask for him. He absolutely loves it.”

She added: “The other day he was sitting in his Audi A4 listening to himself on the show. I don’t know whether he has just recorded himself but I thought: ‘What a big-head!’ He acts like he’s the king of Durham.”

Apprentice candidate Kate Walsh has denied rumours that she had an affair with fellow candidate Phillip Taylor.

A rumour emerged last week that the pair hooked up whilst filming the show but broke up after the show ended. However Kate insists that they shared one snog only and not even a good one!

The Sunday Mirror reported that Walsh told a friend: “I did snog Phillip one evening but that was all that happened. I don’t know why I did it because he was a terrible kisser. There was definitely no affair.”

A source close to Taylor recently commented: “Phillip is a classic ladies’ man. He’s as smooth as glass with a nice North East brogue. If he hadn’t got hold of Kate, he’d have pounced on one of the others.”

The new series of The Apprentice hasn’t even kicked off yet and already we hear that two of the candidates couldn’t keep their hands off each other.

The Mirror has reported that licensing development manager Kate Walsh and estate agent Philip Taylor embarked on a romance during their time recording the show and whilst they have since broken up their relationship is said to have continued after the show wrapped.

A show source said: “Kate was flirting with some of the boys from day one and Phillip made it clear he was interested. He made a move and the pair got together after that.

“After it was all over, they continued to see each other – though it didn’t last.

“But while they’re no longer an item, they’re still in touch and their relationship is sure to be in the spotlight once the series is under way.”

However The Sun reports that Sir Alan was furious when he found out about the affair.

A source close to the show told the paper: “It was pretty obvious Phillip and Kate had the hots for each other from the start.

“They’re both really good-looking and feisty — it was an instant attraction.

“Everyone else knew about it but when Sir Alan found out he went mad. He hates it when there’s any kind of ‘funny business’ going on, as he calls it.”

At the series’ launch earlier this week, Sir Alan said that he was “not sure” if there had been any romances this year. But he added knowingly: “I’m sure you lot will find out.”
