Celebrity Big brother’s golden couple, Chantelle Houghton and Preston have announced their split today.

The pair got married only ten months ago, and though many thought they did it just for the fame and magazine deals the pair still claim that they were madly in love.

“After much soul-searching and tearful discussions we have sadly decided to end our marriage,” a statement said.

“No one else is involved in our decision,”

“We hope we can always remain friends and still love each other, but we both think we put so much pressure on one another to make our marriage work that it has ended up destroying our relationship.”

There have been some suggestions that Ordinary Boys Preston’s marriage to Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton, may already be in trouble. Apparently Preston is still in touch with his ex-fiancee Camille, even though he broke up with her last year so he could be with Chantelle.

Preston has walked off a recording of the comedy show ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’ because jokes were made about his wife.

Preston first met his wife, Chantelle Houghton, on Celebrity Big Brother last January, and the pair enjoyed a whirlwind romance before getting married in the summer.

The shows host read aloud from Chantelle autobiography saying:

“I’ve always loved M&S but it has always been too expensive for me,” she wrote.

“The photo shoot made me feel very posh and upmarket.”

Preston angrily pulled off his mike and walked off the set.

A spokesman for the BBC2 show said that Simon’s jokes are in good spirit and not meant to offend anyone.

“It’s a shame Preston felt he had to leave,” he added. “Simon loves to banter with guests.”

The Daily Mirror has reported that Celebrity Big Brother stars Chantelle and Preston are getting married today!

The nuptials will be a lavish affair – the bride’s ivory gown has been designed by Elizabeth Emanuel, who crafted Princess Diana’s wedding dress in 1981.

And afterwards there’s an exotic beach holiday to look forward to.

But the big question on everyone’s lips is: why such a scramble to get down the aisle?

Preston, who fronts indie band the Ordinary Boys insists that marrying Chantelle so soon after meeting “just felt right”.

But their friends are concerned over their haste, and point to the differences between them as ruining the chance of it lasting.

“There’s no doubt they’re devoted to each other – anyone in their company sees them kissing, touching and texting,” says a mutual friend.

“I’m not saying they’re not in love – no one’s cynical about that. The cynicism comes into why they’ve decided to get married so quickly. Some of us think they’re doing it to capitalise on their fame.”

Celebrity Big Brother winner Chantelle Houghton has revealed that she is desperate to start a family with her fiance, Ordinary Boys singer Preston.

Chantelle told OK! magazine: “Babies are something I would’ve definitely said no to six months ago, but my mind has been changed so it’s yes now!

“Ours will probably come out with blonde hair extensions and covered in tattoos!”

“There was a photo of me looking a bit pregnant (in a magazine recently) but I’m so not. I’d probably just eaten a big lunch!

“Even my mum called me up going: ‘You’re not are you?’ so I had to convince her I wasn’t, but we laugh about it now. But I’ve read it so many times that I’m beginning to believe it myself!”

But the new celebrity hasn’t forgotten her roots and insists that she only wants friends at her wedding that she has known for at least five years.

She added: “I just want people there who I’ve spoken to in the last five years at least and who are a big part of my life. I absolutely hate weddings where you have to ask people what they’ve been up to – I should already know!

“Since Big Brother I’ve had people saying they’re my best mates, but I think why haven’t they said that to me instead of telling a magazine?”

Celebrity Big Brother contestants Chantelle Houghton, and Samuel Preston have recently confirmed the rumours that have been forming since they left the Big Brother house, and finally announced their engagement.

Chantelle announced the engagement at the New Woman Beauty Awards at London’s Dorchester Hotel. Telling the crowd how Preston had proposed using a diamond engagement ring that had belonged to his mother.

“It was as much unexpected for me as it was for him,” she said. “He asked for his mum to send the ring over and he asked me.

“I just want to marry him. I’ve had a really long day today but I don’t feel tired and I’m just dying to get home to see him.”

She said she had already told friends and family: “I rang my mum and everyone and we went to get a bottle of champagne and we celebrated.”

The couple plan to marry later this year.

The couple who met in Celebrity Big Brother will apparently spend £3,000 on the ceremony at Stock Brook Country Club.

They only managed to secure the place after a cancellation, with the venue originally fully booked all year.

According to The Sun a source said: “Chantelle wanted class and was thrilled when the booking became available. She is getting used to the finer things in life and this place delivers.” ”

Celebrity Big Brother certainly has done Preston and Chantelle career the world of good. Preston managed to make his band ‘The Ordinary Boys’ a household name with top 10 hits, Chantelle has presented two shows for E4, and their romance has dominated headlines in magazines and newspapers for weeks!

Now it appears that the hype will be taken one step further and a movie is set to be by production company ‘Working Title’ made based on their story.

An insider ‘told’ the Daily Star: “The idea Working Title want to run with is a storyline based on two people falling for one another on a reality TV show.

“It would then trail the twists and turns of the couple throughout their lives.

“In the film script, it is Chantelle’s career which eventually overtakes Preston’s and people will see how the couple will cope with that. And it will be a very bumpy road.

“At the moment Chantelle’s character is based on her characteristics and looks but the female lead will be given a different name.�

Speculation is continuing over whether newly engaged Chantelle Houghton and Ordinary Boys singer Preston are expecting their first baby.

Not only was Chantelle spotted with what could have been the beginning of a baby bump, but this week she was also seen on the hunt for baby clothes.

A shopper in Brighton, East Sussex, said: “She seemed interested in the little pink outfits.

“I saw them later on in the adult nightwear section. Chantelle was looking at a pair of Winnie The Pooh pyjamas.”
