Chantelle Houghton and Rav Wilding have announced their split.

The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star and the ‘Crimewatch’ presenter first started dating at the end of 2010 but were seen loudly arguing in London’s Richmond Park over the weekend, and onlookers reported that Chantelle was in floods of tears, as the row got out of hand.

Writing on twitter, Rav said: “Wanted to clarify situation after speculation 2day. Sadly Chantelle & I are no longer in a relationship as I’ve had to draw a line under it.

“It’s been a really difficult week and a lot has gone on, & I appreciate everyone’s kind words. The relationship wasn’t what I wanted so badly and wasn’t the genuine thing I thought it was.

“It’s so upsetting as I genuinely & truly loved Chantelle, but the publicity side isn’t always reflective of the truth. All I ask is that you don’t believe everything that’s written, and thanks again to everyone who’s been in touch – means a lot x (sic)”

Although the couple – who had enjoyed a champagne picnic prior to their explosive row – had previously gushed about each other, Chantelle recently admitted they were experiencing some problems as he couldn’t accept her past.

Chantelle – who was formerly married to singer and fellow ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star Preston – said: “It doesn’t anger me but I don’t like someone wanting to change my past because I wouldn’t change it for anything – I don’t regret any of it.

“I don’t think Rav wants to acknowledge it, but what went on between me and Preston is important.”

Friends of Big Brother stars Samuel Preston and Chantelle Houghton, have claimed that the pair planned their return to the show and their fake, on/off relationship afterwards.

Heat magazine claims that the pair spoke on the phone before they entered the Channel 4 reality TV show in August, negotiated their fees together and set up joint magazine deals for when they got out.

A source said: “They spoke on the phone several times before they went back in. They discussed how much they would be paid, and when Chantelle found out Preston was getting £40,000 she went back to the Channel 4 producers and demanded the same.

“They knew that they were a valuable commodity as a pair, much more than individually.”

The pair are said to have pre-arranged a joint interview worth £120,000 before they even entered the house. On their release, the one time couple were also reportedly paid to stage photos of them kissing, holding hands and enjoying a night out, to keep the rumours alive.

An alleged friend of Houghton added: “She wants the public to believe she’s back with Preston. She was delighted they got so much attention when they went for a meal. It was all set up, of course.

“And she knows the more aloof Preston acts, the better it makes her look. People know they’re a ‘brand’ and they’re worth more while there is speculation about their romance.

“They love keeping the public guessing and will string it out as long as they can. She knows how things work and will have told him, ‘This will make us rich’.”

Big Brother stars Samuel Preston and Chantelle Houghton have reportedly agreed to see a life coach together.

The pair first met on Celebrity BB 2006, they married soon after and divorced just nine months later. They were reunited on Ultimate Big brother last month and insiders say that they are trying now to find a way forward, in the hopes that they can get back together.

The lovebirds have reportedly agreed to attend therapy sessions and to see a life coach in a bid to stage a happy reunion and a friend told The Daily Star:

“They are both being very open and frank that if they’re going to get back together then they need to sort out the past. They are both up for the idea of getting professional guidance.”

A source said: “Preston thinks they have unfinished business which needs sorting before they can properly get back together.

“There were reasons why they split and they need to address them.

“Chantelle is happy to go along with the therapy sessions.”

It seems that the time has past for Big Brother lovebirds Samuel Preston and Chantelle Houghton.

After admitting that he had tried to save their marriage in 2007, but was stood up by Chantelle, Prseton told OK that he is still in love with his American girlfriend Abby.

The former Ordinary Boys star dashed Chantelle’s hopes of a reunion when he was asked how on/off girlfriend Abby is feeling about his post Big Brother situation. He said:

“I’ve spoken to her and she’s very understanding and supportive – she’s a really sensible girl. She will support me no matter what I do.”

When asked if he was in love with the Abby, Preston admitted:

“Yes, I guess I am…I think that was a relationship in my life that seemed to make perfect sense until the distance happened.”

In her own interview with the magazine, Chantelle admitted that the pair had agreed to spend some time apart to consider their future. While Preston seems to have ruled out a reunion, Houghton still holds out some hope that he will come back to her. She said:

“I’m desperate for him to call me and tell me that that he loves me.

“I hate cooling-off periods but this time around I’m doing the sensible thing. If I wasn’t being forced to do it, I’d have spent the night with with him when I got out of the house to ask him. I wouldn’t still be on day ten not knowing.”

She laughed: “In a way I’m happy to drag out the cooling-off period because at least it’s not a no yet. But I know Preston and I know he does love me, I know he does.”

“But If he doesn’t love me I won’t hate him for that. You can’t make someone love you but he’ll always be in my life.”

Ultimate Big Brother boys Preston and Victor have admitted that they’d like Nick Bateman to win the final series of the reality TV show.

Preston claimed that if the BB1 villain won the last ever show, it would be great “poetic justice”. He added that the public would agree with him saying:

“They want to move the story towards an ending. It’s just closure on a ten-year storyline and I think that makes it hilarious.”

After Nick insisted that many people would still bear a grudge against him, after he cheated ten years ago, Victor stated:

“If I was voting I’d vote based on what I was seeing over the last two, three weeks… see how the characters and people have moved on. I think you’ve done yourself justice mate.”

“Yeah, I really want you to win,” Preston agreed.

Speaking to Closer magazine, Preston’s mum, Miranda, also said that seeing the couple reunited in the house is “hard to watch.”

Viewers have noted how being reunited with Preston in the Ultimate Big Brother house may be causing Chantelle to fall for the pop singer again, but 60 year old Miranda claims she’s worried that the couple would fail to make their relationship work second time around.

She said, “It’s a very romantic idea, and it’s obvious they are very fond of each other, but the same old problems between them will still exist…

“They still don’t have anything in common, and that’s one of the reasons they split in the first place.”

Miranda added that she’s found it hard to watch the show given that the former couple seem to be growing ever closer.

She said, “Chantelle still loves Sammy [Preston] and I find it sad to watch.

“She’s not a hard person at all. She’s sweet, and I worry that she’ll get hurt again.

“Sammy’s been treading a good path between comforting Chantelle and being supportive, but not being overly romantic or giving her a false impression of the way things are heading.

“As long as he stays like that, it will all be fine.”

Preston came to his former wife’s rescue last night, as a bit of teasing from John McCririck reduced Chantelle to tears.

John McCririck was suggesting that the house celebrate the pair’s fourth wedding anniversary today and concocting plans to reunite the one time happy couple. However, after other’s insisted that the conversation was disrespectful to Preston’s girlfriend, Chantelle ran into the bathroom crying.

Preston followed her and asked:

“Are you alright?”

“No,” Chantelle admitted. “I just got really upset then and I don’t know why. I think it’s just because everyone just keeps talking about it.”

As Chantelle started to sob, Preston took her in his arms and admitted:

“It’s sad.”

John then entered the bathroom, being uncharacteristically nice and apologising to the pair. He even gave Chantelle a big bear hug and assured her:

“I won’t mention it again. I really am sorry.”

As John left Preston said:

“The best, happy outcome is that we’re cool with each other. It’s a 21st century triumph. We don’t hate each other.”

Chantelle agreed but said:

“It’s just sad isn’t it?”

To which Preston replied:

“Yeah, it’s heartbreaking.”

The pair got married only ten months ago, and though many thought they did it just for the fame and magazine deals the pair still claim that they were madly in love.

“After much soul-searching and tearful discussions we have sadly decided to end our marriage,” a statement said.

“No one else is involved in our decision,”

“We hope we can always remain friends and still love each other, but we both think we put so much pressure on one another to make our marriage work that it has ended up destroying our relationship.”

Preston first met his wife, Chantelle Houghton, on Celebrity Big Brother last January, and the pair enjoyed a whirlwind romance before getting married in the summer.

The shows host read aloud from Chantelle autobiography saying:

“I’ve always loved M&S but it has always been too expensive for me,” she wrote.

“The photo shoot made me feel very posh and upmarket.”

Preston angrily pulled off his mike and walked off the set.

A spokesman for the BBC2 show said that Simon’s jokes are in good spirit and not meant to offend anyone.

“It’s a shame Preston felt he had to leave,” he added. “Simon loves to banter with guests.”
