Former X Factor contestant Rachel Adedeji has revealed that she doesn’t want to work with Rihanna, because she thinks they are too similar.

When Rachel was eliminated from the ITV talent show, rumours were rife that the Russian Roulette singer wanted to work with Rachel.

However Adedeji told Metro: “I haven’t heard anything but I wouldn’t want to work with Rihanna.

“We’re too similar there’s not enough room for the both of us but the people who wrote for Alexandra Burke and JLS have been in touch.”

Potential X Factor winner Joe McElderry, reportedly fancies former contestant, Rachel Adedeji.

The Mirror claims that Joe fell for Rachel when she was living in the X Factor house and since she left, the pair are said to keep in close contact by phone and texts.

“Joe thinks Rachel’s totally amazing,” a source said. “They were best mates in the house but he’d like her to be his girlfriend. He has missed her since she left the competition and the house. They talk on the phone all the time.”

The insider also claimed that the pair have a lot in common, saying: “They are both really down-to-earth, genuine people and it’s obvious when you see them they care a lot about each other.

“I think it’d be great for Joe to have a girlfriend who’s into the same things as he is.”

X Factor finalists Rachel Adedeji, Miss Frank, Rikki Loney and Kandy Rain won’t be heading out on the official XF tour this year. The acts had hoped that they would be allowed to perform at some of the venues, but this year’s lineup includes only Lucie Jones, Stacey Solomon, Joe McElderry, Lloyd Daniels, Jamie Archer, Olly Murs, Danyl Johnson and John and Edward Grimes.

The news seemed to come as a shock to Dannii Minogue who was sure that Rachel Adedeji would take part in some of the tour dates. She wrote on her Twitter page:

“I thought she was doing some of the dates like London?”

Tour bosses announced today that due to high demand for tickets from Jedward fans, they have added 16 new dates across the UK.

Original Sugababes singers Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy are reportedly forming a new band with X Factor reject, Rachel Adedeji.

Siobhan quit the girlband in 2001 whilst Keisha was kicked out last month and replaced by Eurovision singer Jade Ewen. Keisha has always been a big X Factor fan and saw Rachel’s potential after she was voted off last month.

A source told The People:

“Rachel is a brilliant singer and just because Simon Cowell didn’t have faith in her it doesn’t mean that she won’t achieve her dream of being a pop star.

“Rachel has wanted to be in the charts since she was a little girl so Keisha and Siobhan could just help her with that.

“They’ll have to wait a bit because Rachel is signed up to X Factor duties for a few months but after that she will be a free agent.”

Former X Factor contestant Rachel Adedeji has let her true feelings about her departure slip and admitted that she doesn’t think the show is about talent anymore.

Talking on Red Dragon FM, she said: “I don’t know if X Factor is about talent anymore to be honest – seriously.”

Talking about twins John and Edward Grimes, she added: “They don’t have to be good singers, what the hell.

“Listen, they enjoy what they do and they want to be popstars.”

Rachel is backing Joe McElderry to win. She said: “He’s my favourite. Week after week he’s proper going for it.

“He just wants to do this and is one of the most positive people in the house. I love Joe.”

Rachel Adedeji has suggested that she may have left the show because of bad X Factor editing.

In an interview with The Mirror, Rachel said that viewers knew very little about her in comparison to her fellow female competitors, Lucie Jones and Stacey Solomon.

She said: “Viewers didn’t know who I was to begin with, whereas other contestants, like Stacey and Lucie, have back stories. I have one, but it wasn’t broadcast as much as the others.

“It never got to me because I came to sing, and I thought people just voted on our performances. But it shows it is not just about singing.”

I have heard many people complimenting the dress that outgoing singer, Rachel Adedeji wore on The X Factor this weekend but I just didn’t like it.

The stylists didn’t go all out and break the bank to dress Rach, her multi coloured mini dress cost only £30 from Lipsy. I know that Rachel suffered from an image crisis during her first few week’s on the show but at least she looked like an individual. Last night she looked wholly uncomfortable and a bit garish for my taste.

If you loved the dress you can buy it here, but I wouldn’t recommend it!

Rachel Adedeji has been voted off X Factor tonight.

As the results were announced, the biggest shock of the night wasn’t that John and Edward got through to next week but that Rachel Adedeji was in the bottom two again. This time she was up against young Lloyd Daniels.

Four weeks in and Rachel has been in the bottom two three times. It’s a bad sign and when Simon Cowell was left with the deciding vote he gave the decision back to the public and created a deadlock situation.

The act that received the fewest public votes was Rachel and so the best singer on the show was sent home. It’s a bit of a travesty really, Rachel is gone whilst Lloyd the personality-less and Jedward the tuneless remain. Go figure.

Right, let’s do the liveblog thing!

We start off with the ensemble performance of Aerosmith’s Walk This Way. Except, because this is X Factor, it’s actually the Girls Aloud/Sugababes version of the song which is nowhere near as cool as the original. Bah! Everybody seems to be on form tonight, even Devastated Danyl, and as schmaltzy as the whole thing is, it’s great fun. We love these ensemble performances, just to see the contestants performing together and having a bit of a lark.

And we get the obligatory recap of last night’s performances. Which would be a good time to remind you about our liveblog post and our chart rating the best and worst of last night. Then it’s time for…

Bon Jovi!!!

Yes! The world’s favourite hair metallers-turned-country rockers! Nah, just pulling your legs, easily offended ‘Jovi fans – I love ‘em too. Jon Bon looks hawt despite his advancing years, Ritchie Sambora looks tiny, and that’s the shortest I’ve seen Tico’s hair in ..er… ever. I’ve never heard this song before (new single?) but this is how rock should be done. The ‘Jovi put on a polished show, as they rightly should. I’m slightly lamenting the lack of guitar solos and pyrotechics, but hey…

Dermot fulfils a lifelong dream (presumably) by high-fiving Ritchie. Shame we didn’t get more of an interview, but given Whitneygate and Robbiegate, they’re probably wanting to limit the amount of talk-time the artists get!

And we’re back! Simon grovels to Cheryl and congratulates her on behalf of everybody for getting a number one. And tries to poach her for his label, the cad!

Now, JLS return to the show that didn’t make them winners! Nice to see these guys back, after failing to win last year’s X Factor and failing to secure a record deal with Simon’s label. But they went out there and did their own thing, came out with two great singles and are now a massive act in their own right.

They’re singing Everybody In Love, their second single. And they have more pyro on stage than Bon Jovi did! Who’s the biggest star here? The rumour is that they’re singing live, but with such an intricate dance routine, I have my doubts. WHAT? They even have elevated platforms? Bon Jovi didn’t get elevated platforms. OK, so they’re 20 years older and probably would have brittle bones and insurance issues, but still…

D’you think we’ll get the schmaltzy verdict thingy from Simon? And will Dermot mention the spoof version of Beat Again that Marvin JLS’s ex-girlfriend released? Betcha he doesn’t!

The Eliminator

OK, tense music? Check. Dimmed stage lights? Check. Contestants nervously huddling with judges? Check.

Joe McElderry gets returned first. Then Olly and Lucie. Then Sir Jamie of Afro. Dermot: “Remember, this is in no particular order…” Stacey is confirmed – she’s back next week. Bizarre! Danyl Johnson comes back next week. See, you don’t need to perform well to stay in the competition. And…John and Edward are safe. Rachel Adedeji and Lloyd Daniels are in the bottom two.

We gave Rachel top marks last night while Lightweight Lloyd was at the other end of our spectrum (i.e. crap). This is a bit of a shocker. If Rachel isn’t connecting with the public by now, maybe it’s time for her to go home. But Lloyd has no chance of winning this competition, and even less chance of becoming a successful recording artist. Sing off between the two after the…

Third Commercial Break!

Dannii unleashes Rachel Adedeji first for the sing-off and Rachel looks subdued when she comes on stage. It’s a very uplifted version of Oasis’s Stop Crying Your Heart Out, and as always Rachel gives a solid vocal performance. An unamused Cheryl introduces Lloyd back to the stage. Again, Lloyd looks devastated. Technically, his time should be up tonight. We hear he has a throat infection, which will affect his performance, although Lisa says she prefers his voice slightly huskier!

His voice cracks a few times during the performance, but it’s still a decent rendition of You Are So Beautiful. Both Rachel and Lloyd gave fairly sedate, subdued performances though.

Dannii chooses to vote Lloyd off,  and Louis chooses to vote Lloyd off too. Cheryl praises Rachel but predictably chooses to vote Rachel off. Simon deliberates on who to save, but ultimately sends the decision to DEADLOCK!!! That’s the public vote, for those of you who’ve never seen X Factor before! And going home tonight is…

Awww. My favourite contestant this year and she’s booted off. I wonder if she’ll blame Dannii for the disconnect with the public. But I think it was the right decision to be honest. Nobody who appears in the bottom two so much stands a chance of winning the show. Sorry, much as I love Rachel, that’s a fact.

Earlier this week The Sun claimed that John and Edward Grimes topped the public vote on last weekends X Factor. However insiders have reportedly informed the Daily Star, that Rachel Adedeji was actually the true winner.

The report also claims the twins have been in the bottom four every week so far and only escaped the bottom two by 0.5% on Sunday night.

“This is going to blow the whole competition wide open now,” said a source. “People were actually starting to believe that the twins were going to win. But now it seems their days are well and truly numbered. They could even be out this week. And Rachel, who no-one fancies, has been piling up the votes this last week.”

Danyl Johnson and Lloyd Daniels were said to be the most popular singers during the first two weeks.
