Ray Quinn has admitted that he has one stand out favourite on this year’s series of Dancing On Ice.

The former X Factor contestant won the ITV skating show back in 2009 and was on This Morning today to give his opinions on the current batch of celebrities.

When asked who stand’s out for him on the 2011 series, Ray admitted:

I am a big fan of Vanilla Ice.

I think he’s cool. I do look forward to what he’s going to do. I remember being really young and his song coming out and my brother coming into the bedroom and rapping the whole way through the sing. He knew all the words and he probably still does.

When asked if he understood the pressure now on Sam Attwater, who was beaten by Laura Hamilton for the first time last week, when she topped the judges leaderboard. Ray said:

It is huge pressure but different people deal with it differently and for me, it was a pressure, but I thrive on that pressure. If they said to be you’ve got to be better next week, you’ve got to up your game, I was like “well I will!” I wanted to do my utmost best to make sure that I did up my game. That made me stronger.

Ray Quinn has proposed to his girlfriend Emma Stephens.

The former Dancing On Ice winner and X Factor runner up met the blonde beauty when he was starring in West End musical Grease three years ago.

Ray, 22, told Hello! magazine:

“I never thought a girl like her would be interested in a guy like me. I feel fate brought us together. I will look after and love Emma forever.”

Ray will return to Dancing On Ice next week, to teach the remaining contestants the required element ‘The Jump.’

The Dancing On Ice contestants will all skate to Vegas themed tunes on Sunday’s live show and Hayley Tamaddon has revealed that this week’s required element will be ‘skills.’

The former DOI winner was doing her weekly interview on This Morning when she revealed that all of the celebrities (even rubbish ones like Kerry Katona) will have to attempt step sequences, spins and jumps in their routines.

Hayley told Ruth Langsford and Eamon Holmes:

This week’s required element is skills. They are introducing step sequences, spins and jumps. Which myself, Ray Quinn and Chris Fountain have all had to demonstrate. That’s been fun being back on the ice this week, it’s been great!

As well as welcoming back three previous stars of the ITV show, viewers can also look forward to a spectacularly glitzy routine from former Olympic champions Torvill and Dean, which takes inspiration from the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World.’

Tamaddon added:

It’s Vegas week. This week we get to see Jayne and Chris do a pro number which is going to be fantastic, I’ve heard it’s amazing. Also the contestants will have a Vegas-y number to do which is really good.

Dancing on Ice contestant Danny Young has admitted that he ‘aspires’ to be as good on the show as former participant, Ray Quinn.

He told the Daily Star: “I think with Ray Quinn that he is someone to aspire to, he was great. But Ray had a background in dance, I think he was a latin ballroom dancer.

“I think it does give you an advantage.”

He added: “Ray was a natural and I don’t think that I will ever be as good as him.”

On his own progress on the ice Danny said:

He added: “I fall down a lot but I get back up and I work hard at it.

“I think that I am definitely getting better and I have moved on from where I started.”

Former X Factor semi finalist Ben Mills has given a very revealing interview to The Times today, in which he talks about the amount of staging and faking he experience during the 2006 series of the show.

Ben described his time on the ITV talent show as:

“completely surreal. Sharon [Osbourne, then a judge] wanted me to stage a walkout one week to generate a huge tabloid story and get me votes. When I refused, she didn’t speak to me again.”

Ben also revealed that Ray Quinnn and Simon Cowell were often less than honest with the viewers saying:

“Simon always pre-warned me if he was going to spice up the show a bit by slagging me off, but I’ve never forgiven Ray [Quinn, second, 2006, now playing Danny in Grease in the West End] for crying during the semi. I offered him 50 quid not to, but he’d made up his mind. You could almost hear the old ladies at home reaching for their phones.”

Stories like this make me a whole lot more cynical about any shows that Cowell is involved with. Much as I love X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, only a fool would believe that all is as it appears on screen. Did Simon Cowell really not remember Flawless from their performances on X Factor, was he really not aware that Shaheen’s second song was much better than his first and did he ever even fire Louis Walsh in 2007? I’ll let you make your own mind up!

Ray Quinn has told The Sun that he’d love to play James Bond in the future….what an April Fools joke eh?

“I’d love to live in America like Leona and make a life for myself over there. My ultimate dream is to be James Bond – maybe when Daniel Craig throws the towel in,” he said.

He added: “I’d give it a few years though. Bond needs to be more mature looking than me. I’ll need to get more wrinkles then who knows.”

Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has expressed his surprise that Ray Quinn has landed the role of Danny Zuko in the West End production of Grease.

The Sun quoted Jason as saying: “Oh my God, he’s been cast as Danny? That’s a ridiculous casting, he’s going to look like a munchkin. Danny’s supposed to be a hunk. Ray’s so small! A four-foot Danny is just ridiculous. Ray’s wonderful, but that’s absurd.”

Jason did concede that he thought the former X Factor contestant was the right winner of the ice show, saying it was “very well-deserved”.

Not really a shock result but former Brookside star, Ray Quinn, has won Dancing On Ice 2009.

Ray was joined in tonight’s final by Jessica Taylor and Donal MacIntyre. Jessica was first to be voted out, visibly upset at not being able to skate her Bolero routine.

Donal and Ray then went head to head and though Ray was technically perfect and superior, I personally thought Donal’s routine had more soul.

I bet when they were about to announce the results Ray’s X Factor experience flashed before his eyes. It wasn’t that long ago after all, when he had the winners title of that show snatched away by Leona Lewis.

The three remaining contestants on ITV’s Dancing On Ice have had a rough week as they practice for the show’s final this Sunday night.

The Sun reports that Ray Quinn fainted whilst practising his wire routine and needed oxygen before he could continue. “He was in a bad way on the high wire as he suffers from motion sickness,” a source told the paper.

Jessica Taylor ended up in floods of tears as she had difficulties grasping her version of Torville and Dean’s Bolero. Maybe she’ll get lucky and be the first contestant voted off on Sunday night, meaning she wouldn’t have to perform the routine.

To top it all off Donal McIntyre has sustained even more brusing after a lift went wrong with his partner Florentine Houdiniere.

“Everyone was thinking ‘is this jinxed’?” an ITV insider said, “So little was going right.”
