Richard Madeley has admitted that while he was upset for his daughter Chloe when she fell on Sunday’s live Dancing On Ice show, he thinks the drama and excitement was a good thing in the end.

Blonde bombshell Chloe will join former Eastenders actor Sam Attwater and Nickelodeon presenter Laura Hamilton on this weekend’s final and writing on his blog about the moment where she tripped over Michael’s leg and brought them both down on the rink, Richard wrote on his blog:

“I will never hear Katy Perry’s Firework again without seeing in my mind’s eye Chloe and Michael taking their first tumble yet on the ice.”

“But it all adds to the drama. In fact, I told Chloe after her and Michael’s brilliant skate-off performance punched them into this Sunday’s final.

“If I was scripting DOI as a drama I’d have written in that accident. Added hugely to the watchability of the show and was a reminder of how unbelievably difficult what they are all doing out there is.

“Judy and I might just burst with pride yet… My little girl in the final!”

Richard and Judy have been massively supportive to their daughter throughout her time on the ITV show and he admitted that they have already started planning their banner for this Sunday.

He wrote: “It’s got to be a good one, this is the final, after all. But I may follow the advice someone sent me via Twitter. Cut the cute stuff – ‘Let’s Go Chloe: Allons-y Michael !’ – may, I freely concede, have been a bit fruity last Sunday.

“Why not, my Twitter friend suggested, just write a giant ‘CHLOE!’ and have done with it?

“Why not indeed? We don’t want any adverbs creeping in, do we?”

Richard Madeley has hinted that he may sign up for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing series.

The TV presenter was rumoured to be taking part in last year’s dance extravaganza, but turned it down because of his chat show with wife Judy on digital channel Watch.

However, in an interview with the Radio Times today, Richard admitted that this year may be the year he puts his dancing shoes on. He said:

“The only one I’d consider is Strictly Come Dancing because it’s down to the contestants and what they make of it.

“All the other shows are shamelessly manipulated by the producers. I’m a total control freak, so I’d hate it.”

A friend of Richard also admitted that with his lighter schedule in 2010, it would b the ideal time for him to take part. They told The Mirror:

“If he is ever going to do the show then it will be this year. He is still relatively fit so I think he will fancy his chances on the dance floor.”

BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing is said to be in a crisis state after two of its biggest names pulled out.

The Mirror reports that both Sharon Osbourne and Richard Madeley have quit the show after beeb bosses insisted on a 30% cut in all celebrity fees.

Sharon is also said to be upset at the channel’s decision to sack show veteran, Arlene Phillips.

“Sharon is a serious player in America’s Got Talent but what the BBC finally offered was ridiculous” said a pal. “And what happened to Arlene was a disgrace.”
