So, it finally happened, The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex proposed to girlfriend Sam Faiers on last night’s series 8 finale of the show.

In wake of all the recent allegations that The Only Way Is Essex has become too scripted for even its own cast, show stars Jessica Wright Ricky Rayment have come out to say that despite feeling sorry for Lucy Mecklenburg and Mario Falcone, who have found themselves in the midst of all the current drama, they do not agree that the show is scripted.

Discussing the recent allegations at the TRIC Awards in London last night, Ricky revealed that he and the rest of his fellow classmates have an enormous bond and trust within the production team, and that if rumours are to be believed that Lucy Mecklenburg and Mario Falcone are leaving the show the cast would simply “ignore it” and get on with things.

The Only Way Is Essex star, James ‘Arg’ Argent’ has had his foot run over by a car being driven by his friend, and co-star, Ricky Rayment, the Sun newspaper reports!

According to the publication Arg was waving Ricky and his girlfriend, Jessica Wright, off as they drove away from Sam Faiers house, where they had been, in his Mercedes.

So last night saw the first episode of series 8 of The Only Way Is Essex come crashing onto our ITV2 screens, and what a drama-fest it was!

After all the dramas, upset and scandals from last year’s seris, not to mention the live episode and Christmas specials, all eyes, we expected, were to be focussed on Joey Essex and on/off/on again girlfriend, Sam Faiers. However, it was soon very obvious that none was to be found, especially as they only shared one scene together!

They may be happy as ever now, but last series it didn’t look like The Only Way Is Essex star, Sam Faiers and Joey Essex would still be together for very long at all.

We all watched as the pair, who have been back together since last year, started arguing at just about every opportunity, resulting in Joey breaking down in tears to his friends admitting he didn’t know what to do to save the relationship.

The Only Way Is Essex is set to return to our TV sets this Sunday (24/02/13) at 10pm on ITV2, and after a rollercoaster series 7 we can’t wait to see what the gang are up to!

However, the pictures released today don’t seem to show the whole picture….

The Only Way Is Essex stars Jessica Wright and Ricky Rayment have sparked a torrent of speculation after Jessica was seen returning from their Florida holiday this morning, wearing what looked like a rather sparkly engagement ring!

Fans of the hit ITV2 reality show will know how ever since getting together last year, Jess and Ricky have endured what can only be described as a turbulent relationship at best, with both having been caught out sending in appropriate texts to members of the opposite sex behind each other’s back.
