Laura White has defended her pal Rikki Loney, who was booted off the X Factor last Sunday night.
Laura, whose departure was a shock moment during last year’s series, knew Rikki from last year’s bootcamp and told stv.tv:
“I know we have just lost Rikki and Rikki is one of my friends, he is amazing. It’s so sad he has gone week two. With his talent, he definitely deserved to stay a lot longer.”
X Factor reject, Rikki Loney, has blamed Cheryl Cole’s mentoring skills for his exit last Sunday night.
In an interview with The Sun, Rikki admitted that Whitney Houston advised him to change his song from ‘Respect’ to her own hit, ‘My Love Is Your Love.’ He said that he didn’t, because of the lack of time, but thinks that the big Aretha number was his undoing.
He said: “I should have listened to Whitney. They advised me to change.
X Factor judge Louis Walsh, may have been missing from the show this week but that doesn’t mean that he wasn’t watching. In a live telephone chat with the Xtra Factor tonight, Louis admitted that he had watched the whole of the results show and added that he would have agreed with Simon Cowell and saved Rachel Adedeji.
“I never want to watch the show at home again,” he joked with Holly Willoughby. “I’ve been shouting at the TV all night.”
Tonight’s X Factor results show was certainly eventful. Cheryl Cole performed live (well sort of), Whitney Houston sang her heart out then talked herself into a sure spot in tomorrow’s tabloids and Rachel Adedeji ended up in the bottom two again.
Rachel sang against Scottish hat enthusiast Rikki Loney to keep her place on the show and she belted her song, ‘With or Without You.’ She really fought for her place and put every bit of angst she was feeling into her performance. Rikki chose a bland Westlife song and put very little passion into it.
X Factor 2007winner, Leon Jackson, has admitted he is backing fellow Scot, Rikki Loney in this years series. leon says that he remembers Rikki from last year’s bootcamp stage.
Jackson told Scotland’s Daily Record, “I’ve always thought he had a good voice, a good modern image and a nice tone to his voice.
“I don’t think he has anything to worry about right now and I’d like to see him stay in for as long as possible and progress.
X Factor contestant Rikki Loney has admitted that he gave his all at the last stage of X Factor auditions, as he genuinely feels that this is his last chance.
Rikki made it to bootcamp last year and was put through to Simon Cowell’s final six boys. However he was later dropped and replaced by Liam Payne.
Rikki told The Sun: “I went to Marrakech to give it my all.
The mother of X Factor contestant Rikki Loney has claimed that ain’t seen nothing yet!
Loney has made it through to bootcamp twice and is delighted to make it through to this year’s live shows.
Rikki’s mother Irene told the Daily Record: “The whole family was over the moon and we can’t wait to see him at the weekend. We don’t think he’s done his best yet.”
Rikki lives on his own in Glasgow and is desperate for 2009 to be ‘his’ year on The X Factor. Rikki has previously auditioned in series 1, 2 and 5. In series 5 he reached Bootcamp stage but was devastated to be culled at final 50 stage. He has now picked himself back up and is determined to do well in the competition.
X Factor hopeful Rikki Loney has admitted that he had a hard time after failing to make it on last year’s series.
Rikki made it to an advanced stage of last year’s bootcamp before Simon Cowell dropped him and has admitted that Simon’s decision crushed him at the time.
Rikki told The Daily Star: “I am so happy to be back and to be in with a chance this time.
“I almost gave up on my dream after missing out last year. I was totally devastated to be so close and yet so far and it really knocked me back for a long time.
Ricky Loney auditioned for last years X Factor, where he made it through to bootcamp but narrowly missed out on the opportunity to visit the judge’s houses. Tomorrow night we will see Ricky’s second shot at superstardom…
“I’m a full-time singer. I sing in social clubs, pubs, wherever it be and I want it to be a bigger stage, I want to actually be doing my own concerts and things like that.”
