Former Wales and Leicester City footballer Robbie Savage found a new army of fans when he took part in Strictly Come Dancing, however, in today’s Daily Star, Robbie has revealed that he’s suffered from depression since he retired from footie.
37 year old Robbie explained that following an injury to his leg in 2007, he often couldn’t play in pro-matches, and being on the benches caused him to be depressed and experience feelings of “emptiness.”
He said, “I’ve suffered depression when I broke my leg in 2007 and at times now because I’m retired. In the daytime, the boredom sets in.
“Even though I’ve got some fantastic jobs, I’m not a footballer any more and that’s all I ever wanted to be. It is difficult.”
However, Robbie, who played midfield, added that although his own professional situation ended unhappily, things are often worse for other players… Read more & comment »

British bookies have tipped Robbie Savage and Anita Dobson as the contestants most likely to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.
The hunky footballer has faced the wrath of the judging panel for weeks now, but has so far avoided being voted off. However odds have been slashed on him going this Sunday, with William Hill offering just 11/2 from 6/1.
Bookmakers think both he and former Eastenders actress Anita Dobson are in danger but tip her to go with odds of 6/5.

Robbie Savage has hit out at the Strictly Come Dancing viewers who complaiuned about his suggestive dance routine on Saturday night’s live show.
For the Halloween themed episode, the football star danced to Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ and incorporated a few of the late singer’s signature moves into his choreography.
He grabbed his crotch a number of times, once while standing above Craig Revel Horwood on the judges table, and while the judge only scored him 4/10 for his efforts, Savage was more upset by the few hundred people that lodged a complaint with the BBC.

Ola chicos y chicas! Welcome to Unreality TV’s third week of Strictly Come Dancing liveblogs – and with no Edwina Currie, who’ll provide the cringes on this week’s show? Well, probably Russell Grant, who we heard described on Twitter as Christopher Biggins with even less dignity. Does that sound about right?
Tonight’s show kicks off with a group performance in an old Broadway stylee. We’re randomly thinking Brendan Cole’s new haircut makes him look like less of a preening peacock than usual. The professional dancers are joined by the rank amateurs celebrities for the finale of the number, with most of the guys forgetting when to raise their ridiculous top hats.
Holly Valance
Holly Valance dancing in a cage? It’s like the choreographers went in and stole the idea from my mind, Inception-style. Holly and Artem start off their routine sizzling together in the cage, but the routine inexplicably loses energy when Holly tries to do kicks toward Artem. Still, it was a reasonably steamy routine.
