It was an emotional weekend as The Voice UK reached the live semi finals. For the first time all four coaches teams’ united and performed live to survive – and the shocks came thick and fast.
The stakes and the pressure had never been higher, as the eight remaining artists fought for one of four places in the final. The choice was purely in the hands of the public at home, and for the first time the coaches lost their power to save one of their own team.

Ruth Brown took on yet another emotional song during tonight’s penultimate episode of The Voice.
The 20 year old singer from London has moved her mentor Tom Jones to tears on various occasions and obviously she was going for the heartstrings again tonight, as she battled to win the last Team Tom place for next week’s final show.

The Voice continues tomorrow night and we can reveal what songs the final eight contestants will be taking on for the penultimate shiow.
Two members of each team will be competing for just one place per group in next week’s final, when the final four hopefuls will go head to head for the title of ‘The Voice’….not to mention the £500,000 prize money!

Will.i.am has admitted that he isn’t the best of singers and explained why he relies so heavily in autotune technology.
The Black Eyed Peas may be one of the biggest bands in the world right now, but it is a well known fact that most of their live performances have been a lot less than perfect when it comes to their vocal showcasing.
In an interview for Channel 4 chat show ‘Alan Carr Chatty Man’, the US producer, songwriter and singer was teased by the camp host about his tendency to use autotuning and he admitted:

Team Tom totally shook up the stage tonight, when they performed Florence and The Machine’s ‘Shake It Out’ on The Voice’s result show.
Leanne Mitchell and Ruth Brown proved that they definitely have what it takes to perform amazingly in the semi final next week, when they belted out the recent chart hit and showcased their huge vocal strength.

The Voice UK continued this weekend and on last night’s show, the artists sang live to survive as not one but two artists from both competing teams were eliminated from the competition.
The four remaining artists on TEAM TOM (Adam Isaac, Leanne Mitchell, Matt & Sueleen and Ruth Brown) and TEAM WILL (Joelle Moses, Frances Wood, Jaz Ellington and Tyler James) took to the stage in a bid to impress the coaches and the viewers at home. Both teams also took to the stage and performed with their coach for the very first time.

Tom Jones gave his third singing performance on The Voice tonight with the contestants from his team.
The Welsh singing legend has previously performed with his fellow coaches on two occasions, however for this evening’s live show he took to the stage for the first time with the remaining members of his own team.
The ‘Delilah’ hitmaker performed ‘Hit The Road Jack’ with Adam Isaac, Matt & Sueleen, Leanne Mitchell, Ruth Brown, knowing all the time that before the night was out, he would have to send two of the hopefuls home after hearing their own individual performances.

After Emeli Sandé performed on a recent results episode of The Voice, tonight young hopeful Ruth Brown paid homage to the Scottish star, by performing her hit single ‘Next to Me’ on the third live show.
The 19 year old hopeful this week became the bookies’ favourite to win the entire BBC series, so she had a lot to live up to with her big performance, however we felt that Tom Jones had chosen a great and very age appropriate song – as well as a happy one for a change – for the stunning singer.

Tom Jones decided to treat his team members from The Voice to a relaxing day out this week.
As Adam Isaac, Ruth Brown, Leanne Mitchell and Matt and Sueleen prepared for their second live performance on tonight’s show, after which two of them will be eliminated, the ‘Delilah’ hitmaker took them to a local park for a game of crazy golf.
The whole team took a break from rehearsing, routining and interviews to kick back and enjoy a few hours of fun at a course close to the Elstree studios where the BBC show is filmed.

The Voice continues with it’s live rounds tomorrow night and for the third live show of the brand new series, Team Tom and Team Will will return to the stage.
In each of the first two episodes the coaches have been asked to eliminate one act each, after the pair with the least amount of public votes were revealed. However, this Saturday Tom Jones and Will.i.am will be really on the spot as they are forced to split their teams in half and lose two of their four final singers.
