This post was written by guest blogger and reality TV showbiz observer Daniel Cohen. Catch up with him on Twitter here.

How fickle viewers are. Two months ago thousands of people were raving online about how great it was that The Voice was coming to the UK. Finally a show where people would be judged on how they sang, not how they looked. A show were judges would be coaches and nice to the contestants. How these people looked down on those that watched X Factor….. those cruel people that just went for looks over singing ability.

My, my, what a difference a few weeks makes. This weekend the first live show of The Voice went on air and the same viewers sang an entirely different tune.

Top 10 performances on The Voice: Team Will versus Team Tom

Jaz Ellington, Ruth Brown, Joelle Moses on The Voice

First night nerves were in evidence, from some pitchy moments in the singing, right down to a slightly-awkward Holly Willoughby (*sigh* more beautiful than ever…). Right now, we’re going to get down to ranking the best and worst of tonight’s performances. We’d love to hear who your favourites were tonight, what your highlights were and what tunes you wanted to press mute on. Here we go!
