Sarah Ferguson has denied claims that she is planning to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house next week.

It had been reported that The Duchess Of York was planning a stint on the Channel 5 reality TV show, as a means of pulling her out of her current financial crisis.

The 51 year old former princess was thought to be entering the famous house, alongside Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, American Pie actress Tara Reid, X Factor singers Jedward and TOWIE vajazzler Amy Childs, however she took to her Twitter page this week to deny the reports.

The disgraced former Royal – mother to Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie – wrote:

‘No.. I am not going on Big Brother. Never was asked and never would do it.’

If even half of the rumours are true about this year’s Celebrity Big Brother series, then viewers really are in for a treat.

Insiders claim that Channel 5 are going all out to get some big named stars in the house and the latest celeb to be linked to the reality TV show is troubled actor Charlie Sheen.

Charlie hit the headlines recently, after he was sacked from his £1.2 million per episode job on American comedy ‘Two and a Half Men’, after he was constantly featured in tabloids and magazines who reported on his liaisons with porn stars and alcohol and cocaine binges.

It has been claimed that Five and Endemol have now offered Sheen a whopping £6 million to join Big Brother, when it re-launches on the 17th of August.

The Daily Star reports that Charlie has already agreed the deal in principle and that bosses offered him such a large sum, because they believe that he alone will engineer some amazing ‘unmissable TV’ moments. Sheen is said to be planning to fly from his LA home to the UK next week to prepare for his new gig.

An insider told the newspaper: “It would be unbelievable. A producer’s dream. No-one would want to miss the chance of seeing what he’s up to and hear the wacky things he’s been saying.

“And let’s face it, he’s been saying some crazy stuff recently.”

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that former Princess Sarah Ferguson will also reside in the famous Elstree house this summer, she is said to be joining famous faces such as Ricky Hatton, TOWIE star Amy Childs, American celeb Aaron Carter and 80′s pop star Steve Strange.

A Channel 5 spokesperson added: “‘Big Brother’ execs are in talks with a number of celebrities about appearing on the series but we’re not confirming any names at the moment.”

Sarah Ferguson has been the latest star linked to this year’s Celebrity Big brother series.

The Duchess Of York is rumoured to be considering a stint on the reality TV show, in a bid to pull her out of her current financial crisis.

The former Princess – who was married to Prince Andrew, Duke of York from 1986 to 1996 – was exposed by The News of the World last year, as having been accepting large sums of money in exchange for an introduction to her former husband, the United Kingdom’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment at the time.

“They are offering big appearance fees this year to try and draft in some massive names,” a source told the Metro.

Fergie isn’t adverse to the odd TV appearance.

Over the years she has showed up on Loose Women, Friends, The Vicar Of Dibley, and the US Celebrity Apprentice.

Also rumoured to have signed up for the Channel 5 series – which starts on Wednesday 17th August – is Kerry Katona and her mum, Steve Strange and X Factor stars Jedward.

The Duchess Of York has been so embarrassed by her £500,000 cash-for-royal-access scandal, that she plans to up her TV appearances in the hope of winning the public over again. Billionaire and Apprentice boss Donald Trump is said to be keen to help the former Princess.

A TV insider told The Mirror: “He wants to help Sarah out of this awful mess she has gotten herself into and is discussing finding her a role.

“It’s not yet clear whether she would compete or be Donald’s eyes and ears on the next season of the Apprentice.”

A friend said: “She’s desperate to get her career back on track in the US, where she has bounced back in the past, and sees this as a chance to put her side of the story.

“She knows she made a terrible mistake but also knows she has to move on and try to recover.” Another TV source added: “It’s no surprise she’s doing it as she needs to get her businesses back on track.

“They will be discussing her books but it’s also an opportunity for her to reiterate her deep regret for what happened.”

Almost five million of us tuned in to watch the Duchess try to change the lives of the Sargeson family this week, and ITV are keen to cash in on that level of interest in the ex-Royal by sending her out to find more people in need.

An ITV source told The Sun: “Fergie really impressed us. She has already said she is on a crusade to get the country eating healthily and it makes sense to team up again.

“We are discussing ideas now, but any project would be along the same lines of The Duchess In Hull, where Fergie would go and sort out another family, or tackle another social problem.”

But after watching the show I have to hold my hands up and admit that Sarah Ferguson came across really well. In fact I wouldn’t mind her as my mum!

The show centres on Sarah moving to Hull and helping the unhealthy Sargerson family, to live on benefits and improve their eating habits.

Sarah was down to earth, not overly pushy, and most of all warm. She didn’t tell the mum of the family that she was killing her children with turkey burgers and meat pies, but instead tried to understand how hard it is to feed a family of six on £80 per week. She spoke individually to all the family members, and on camera at least, didn’t appear the least bit condescending or haughty.

I am quite looking forward to the second part of this show, and seeing what changes the Duchess implements. I wouldn’t mind trying some of her homemade coleslaw either. It looked delicious!

The show was provisionally called “The Duchess In Hull” and was to see Sarah moving to Hull and helping the unhealthy Sargerson family, living on benefits improve their eating habits.

But this Saturday police arrested Terri Sargerson, 24, after the death of an 18-year-old man at her council flat in Hull.

A Humberside Police source said: “Initially Terri was arrested on suspicion of murder. But the death is now thought to have been caused by a drugs overdose.”

ITV chiefs are expected to hold a crisis meeting today about the reality TV show’s future. A source said: “It is inconceivable the documentary can be shown at this stage.”

A spokeswoman for the Duchess told The Sun: “She has been alerted and has asked to be kept informed.”
