Scott James can be seen having a bit of a breakdown on tonight’s X Factor show. The 21 year old – who suffers from Aspergers Syndrome – has some problems with his lyrics during his performance.
A source told The People: “He had trouble breathing afterwards because he knew he’d lost his chance.”
Voice coach Linzi Hunter, 49, said later: “Fortunately he’s fine – and wants to return next year.”
X Factor hopeful, Scott James has admitted that he hopes being on the show will help him find love.
Speaking to The Mirror, he explained: “I want a normal lifestyle. I’d like to get my own home and a girlfriend.
“I’m more at ease now than when I was a teenager but I still won’t approach people and make conversation. I want to show that autistic people are not so different and we can make a success of our lives.”
X Factor hopeful, Scott James has told how horrendous bullying by his classmates, left him unable to socialise with others for seven years.
Scott, who wowed the judges with his version of ‘You Raise Me Up’ on last night’s show, suffers from Aspergers Syndrome. His condition led to him being tormented during his whole school life.
Scott told The Sun: “They called me retarded and laughed at the way I walked and the way I looked. I was overweight, wore glasses and walked with an unusual gait. My school reports said it was like I didn’t exist. No one would sit next to me. I’d find a corner and stay in it.

21 year old Scott James has barely left his home for seven years because of his condition, but managed to gather the courage to sing in Manchester earlier this summer.
Dannii Minogue told The Independent magazine that Scott’s performance of You Raise Me Up left the judges speechless.
“He came on stage and he was very particular about explaining his condition,” she said.
