Scott Mills has admitted that he loved Amelia Lily’s performance on last night’s X Factor show.

The Radio 1 DJ was in the audience, as it was revealed that the 16 year old singer had won the public vote and would be replacing disgraced Frankie Cocozza on the ITV show.

She gave a show stopping performance of The Show Must Go On and speaking afterwards on The Xtra Factor, Mills said:

Because she only had a few days to learn it, there was no staging, no special effects, no performers around her and it was still mesmerizing to watch.

On whether or not the pink haired singer can win, he added:

Potentially yes, her voice is very strong. It depends what else she can bring because we don’t really know. It’s all fine with her just standing there on a platform singing, but can she dance? I don’t really know.

Pretend popstar Frankie Cocozza

Scott Mills has revealed that Frankie Cocozza is devastated to be gone from the X Factor.

The official story is that the Brighton lad left the show of his own accord earlier this week, though general consensus seems to be that he was sent packing because he boasted about his frequent drug fueled orgies.

Speaking on tonight’s Xtra Factor, Mills said that he was speaking to a friend of the young star’s and admitted that he is devastated now that he realises how badly he messed up.

The Radio 1 DJ said:

I think that he got a lot of bad public reaction and I know why people did that but I think what happened is that he didn’t realise what he had and how huge this chance was for him.

I’ve spoken to someone that knows him earlier and he’s absolutely gutted.

Somehow we’re finding it hard to dredge up any sympathy for Frankie at all!

He was replaced tonight by Amelia Lily, after she won the public vote, and after just one performance it’s clear that she will bring more to the series than the young lothario ever did.

In our X Factor chart post tonight, we have Marcus Collins top billing but complained about the fact that producers made him look like a Bruno Mars wannabe on this evening’s show.

Soon after we published our post, Scott Mills said the same thing, making us wonder if he was following our tweets. The Radio 1 DJ told The Xtra Factor presenters that much as he loves the Liverpudlian singer, he doesn’t enjoy the direction stylists and his mentor are pushing him in.

Mills explained:

Marcus is brilliant and I don’t know who’s doing it but they are turning him into a Bruno Mars tribute act. I want to see brilliant Marcus, not an average Bruno Mars so they need to stop doing that.

Tonight Marcus gave a rather amazing rendition of ‘Another One Bites The Dust,’ though Gary Barlow accused his fellow judges of ‘tactical critique’ as they accused him of being too samey.

Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills is rumoured to be Australia bound, ready for a stint on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here!

Mills is expected to fly out this Friday and the rumours began when Chalk ’N’ Cheese club in Chester announced he had been forced to cancel Friday night appearance at late notice.

Jono on unofficialmills.co.uk later posted:

“Scott’s back this week but he won’t be sticking around for long.

“After pulling in just four days in the last month, he’s off to Australia for a week from Friday morning.”

It is thought that ITV have lined up a number of new faces to join the show next week, though as yet their identities have not been revealed.
