As fans of X Factor may recall, around this time last year, Louis Walsh made it known that he wanted former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne to be his assistant at the Judges’ Houses stage of the show…
However, he was overruled by Simon Cowell who told him he’d appointed his sidekick Sinitta as Louis’ Judges’ Houses helper.
Sinitta has traditionally been Simon’s own assistant at Judges’ Houses, but of course, as he was in the US last year filming X Factor USA, he didn’t take part in the UK show.
And apparently, Louis fears the same thing could happen again this year, despite the fact that he’s been in talks with Sharon – and she’s agreed to be his JH assistant – to host the round in one of her US homes, or in Louis’ home in Miami.
A show insider told the Sun, “In Louis’s head he’s already there but he needs Simon’s OK…” Read more & comment »

After believing that the final X Factor judge’s seat was hers for the taking, Spice Girl Geri Halliwell was left red-faced and humiliated yesterday when her fellow judges, Tulisa Contostavlos, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh all gave her a vote of no confidence by saying that they wanted former judge, Sharon Osbourne to take the position permanently.
Halliwell was so sure that the position would be offered to her after filling in as a guest judge throughout the audition process, that she had even discussed who she would draft in as her helper during the judge’s house stage of the show (read original article here).

As we reported earlier, speculation is rife that former X Factor judge – and current Australia’s Got Talent judge – Dannii Minogue is in line to plonk her size zero bottom in an X Factor UK judge’s seat once again…
That was a lot of ‘judge’ right there, however, here comes another as judge Louis Walsh has told the Irish Herald that far from being a foregone conclusion that Dannii will replace Kelly Rowland this year, there are FIVE other ladies in the running.
And he hinted that among them is Sharon Osbourne, who of course left the show after clashing with Dannii and saying she could no longer work with her.
Of who else could replace Kelly, Louis wouldn’t say directly and chose a really not very covert means of revealing who they are.
He said, “These are the five people that they’re looking in terms of a replacement for Kelly… Read more & comment »

America’s Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne, has backed new American Idol judge, Ellen DeGeneres.
“She will be a breath of fresh air on that show, a complete breath of fresh air,” the 56-year-old told People magazine. “It’s new blood. And [American Idol] needed something new to happen.
“I think if they had replaced Paula with another singer, Janet Jackson or J.Lo, it would have been too expected. Oh well, there we go, another singer. And with Ellen, you’ve got someone who knows about entertaining, and everything that goes into it, which also speaks for the people.”

Just last week we found out that Sharon Osbourne was leaving the X Factor show, and yesterday Mrs O revealed that she was giving her backing to Girls Aloud singer, Cheryl Cole as her successor.
Today ITV announced that Cheryl has already accepted the job and will make her first appearance as she joins Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue on Thursday at the London auditions at the Emirates Stadium.
Cheryl Cole said, “I’m so excited to be part of such a great show and although it’s scary joining a huge programme like The X Factor, it’s a massive honour to be following in the footsteps of Sharon Osbourne. The rest of the girls have said they’re right behind me, which is really important for me as it will be weird to be on the other side of the fence this time. So whilst we get started on the next album, it will be brilliant to be a Judge on The X Factor.” Read more & comment »
