Did anybody find it hard to keep up with who was going through, I was trying to note down every ones names while watching the show and kept missing people! There where quite a few people who I completely missed like Ryan the soldier, who I thought was going to do really well. I’m made up that Kimberly the Barmaid from Birmingham has got through. I don’t agree with Simon when he said she’s annoying, she’s just a bit hyper but at least she’s not saying the same stuff as everyone else. I loved it when she said, if I don’t get through I’ll just put a fake smile on and say thanks, and then as she came off stage she was saying ‘let me, through, let me through’ and I’m glad she did.

You can’t help feel for the girls who lost it on stage, one girl sang ‘Torn’ and completely lost it. Sharon said it was dreadful, but it was total pressure, she didn’t want to mess up, and I thought it was a bit unfair because she was devastated back stage. I know you could say that they would need to perform week in week out on the live shows, but I don’t see the harm in giving someone ten minutes to get together and try again, like Sharon did for me when I first auditioned.

Emily struggled with her song, but they put her through, and you could see how relieved she was because she knew she didn’t do well, but no Paris, I think a few will be surprised she’s not going to be there, but I’m sure she’ll work hard with her opera singing and she’ll make it onto a big stage one day. The other 14 year old is Luke, and a few people have been saying he reminds them of me! Probably because he cries a lot, but he seems like a good lad and he may have the public behind him. If he does make the final 12 it will be interesting to see how far he gets. The other lad who stands out in the under 25′s boys is Andy from Newport in Wales. He’s got a great voice and I think he’s got to be one of the favourites (watch him get knocked out now I’ve said that!)

Over 25′s look interesting, especially because Louis didn’t want to get them! I couldn’t believe he walked in the room and looked so upset, then when Icaro asked if he could say something he said ‘No’. Icaro is the Chico of the year, how many times did he dive on to the floor when he got through, he must have hurt himself! Bit surprised the school assistant didn’t get through, but Beverley the school teacher is looking good even though Simon said she picked the wrong song. I thought Niki Evans had blown it but they put her through.

So now the groups, a couple of weeks ago I was going to put in the blog that I thought Simon would get the Groups this year and I think he’ll win, but I took it out in case I got it wrong, and guess what, he’s got the groups and is being tipped as the favourite. The group that looks interesting is the lads who don’t look like a group, I hope they do well, and it’s not like the Unconventionals who got voted out on week one last year after having to sing ‘Blame it on the Boogie’ The 2 newly formed groups will probably do well, I think it’s OK for them all to have another try, and it will be interesting to see if they all get on!

I’m still busy, this weekend judging some singers and signing a few autographs for the Carphone Warehouse the sponsors of the X Factor, which was funny because on the cards they spelt my name ‘Shawn’. I’m back over to Ireland in a couple of weeks to work on my songs, I hope you’ll be able to hear them soon and hopefully you’ll like them!

See you next week

Shawn!

This article was written by former X Factor bootcamper, Shaun Rogerson.

Find out more about what Shaun is up to at

www.myspace.com/shaunofficial

www.shaunofficial.com

View the original post Shaun Rogerson Talks X Factor! 02/10/07 on Unreality TV

Shaun Rogerson Talks X Factor! 11/09/07

X Factor 2012

Shaun Rogerson

X Factor 2007

So I caught most of this weeks auditions, but I was staying in Blackpool and so I only caught bits of the show and from what I did see I was impressed with some really good singers like Sam. I like people like Sam because he genuinely didn’t know how good he was and was shocked when the judges like them. It must have made his day that Danni fell in love with his voice! I do hope that Sam goes far in the competition and Domonic who sang Mack the Knife he also surprised me he had a cracking voice on him.

I also liked Trinity. They were only on for a short clip, but were made up of Mum, Dad and their daughter. The dad had a big beaming smile the judges said, and I think they could bring something different to the X-Factor.

Kimberley the 16 year old was great and the group the Aphrodisiacs were really wild and funny. They said they thought it was about time a group won the competition lets just hope that there is a group in the competition that can show the judges that they can win because there are a couple of groups that have been good.

There was one though that shocked me this week and not in a good way unfortunately and that was the lady that had been learning how to sing for the competition for 3 years with a vocal coach. I did feel really sorry for her the singing coach hadn’t helped her at all and in my opinion I have to agree with the judges when they said that she should get a refund.

I’m not sure what I thought about the guy who thought he was the next Robbie Williams. Louis nearly choked when he said that Shayne Ward and Leona Lewis had no charisma about them, and there was no way he wanted him to go through, but Simon gave him his chance. Finally was a 28 year old single mum Natasha who came in with her daughter Jasmin. She had the moving story and when she sang she really was an amazing singer and hopefully she will get to the final.

Hope you all have a great week.

Best wishes

Shaun

This article was written by former X Factor bootcamper, Shaun Rogerson.

Find out more about what Shaun is up to at

www.myspace.com/shaunofficial

www.shaunofficial.com

View the original post Shaun Rogerson Talks X Factor! 11/09/07 on Unreality TV

Shaun Rogerson Talks X Factor! 03/09/07

X Factor 2012

Shaun Rogerson

X Factor 2007

So watched the repeat this morning at 1.30am! Got to say I like Fearne Cotton on the Xtra Factor, that bit where she pretended to be the producer was really funny, but I didn’t get the joke when she said, “what is small, grey and gets sucked a lot , Louis Walsh!”. I have a slight idea of what she meant, but it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to tell you what I was thinking!
Anyway lets talk about the auditions this week. Didn’t Leon Jackson the guy who went to the Scotland audition alone, look a bit like Pete Doherty? I think he’ll do well, he’s got a good voice, and he’s going to be well liked by everyone.

My stand out singers this week are Beverley the school teacher from Luton, and Richard Wilkinson the shop assistant. Beverley sang Aretha Franklin’s ‘Think’ and she really went for it and belted it out. Reminded me a bit of Brenda from series 2. Didn’t know what Louis was saying about her being a backing singer because she was great.

Richard had a great voice, Sharon thought it was quite breathy and like a dirty phone call but the other 3 thought he was special. I thought she was right about what she said but you could still hear that he had a good voice in my opinion and hopefully he will prove Sharon wrong at boot camp. Now the groups, the 2 sisters, one husband and another friend who thought that they were going to fly through the auditions were knocked back down to earth by Simon when he told them straight that they weren’t good enough. It was hard for me to watch, because you can see these peoples dreams being shattered, and sometimes Simon doesn’t see how upset people are getting when he says his personal opinion in the way that he does, and it can be a bit too harsh, but that’s Simon for you!

I think Danni is doing really well on the show. She makes some great comments and isn’t afraid of telling people what she thinks. I don’t know if any of the rumours are true about her and Sharon not getting on, but if they are not getting on I just hope that they work it out because I love them both. I have to say Fearne, why didn’t you tell everyone in advance that you were getting Danni a date, I know I’m a bit young but I’m sure we could have made it work!

Russell Brand from Radio 2 was doing his radio show live from an Ice Cream van opposite the Pleasure Beach where I do the X Factor show on Sunday and we were invited to go on the show. We waited backstage for an hour and then had to leave because we had plans somewhere else (the pub, only joking!) The Mayor of Blackpool turned up late as he had been enjoying himself a bit too much being driven around on a motorbike. Would have been good to get on Radio 2 but we were also worried about what Russell Brand would have said or done! So it was probably a good thing we didn’t get on.

I’ll be watching next week, not sure when the return of Robert is meant to be shown, but I think it may be next week should be interesting to see. Keep smiling like happy 49 year old Julie who sang ‘When your Smiling’ and scared Sharon a bit!

Shaun

View the original post Shaun Rogerson Talks X Factor! 03/09/07 on Unreality TV

Shaun Rogerson Talks X Factor 2007!

X Factor 2012

Shaun Rogerson

X Factor 2007

So I got to watch the X Factor on Saturday Night this week because I had my first Saturday without a show for ages. She’s a year older now and it’s OK for her to enter, I agree with Danni a bit that it’s hard to see her singing the different styles of song every week but she is really talented and determined.

Did you notice nearly all the bad auditions were called John this week? John the window cleaner, John the teacher (who thought Tom Jones couldn’t sing!) and the old John who sang Buddy Holly with a silly dance in his trainers.

While we talk about bad, the girl with the bad attitude and the really bad mouth, Rachel will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. She thought she was better than Madonna and really believed she was god’s gift to singing. All the judges hated her and when she could see it going wrong she started swearing and being really aggressive. I agree with Simon her attitude was awful, and I know why they did show it, but I think they shouldn’t show things like this (even though they always will because it’s good TV) This girl has obviously got some issues, and she needs some help, but I can imagine she is really depressed now and will be having an awful time.

It’s easy to say, ‘well she knew what she was doing when she auditioned’ but the thing is she really thought she was talented (her voice was actually OK) and really believed she was going to get through, so now not only are her hopes and dreams gone, but all the people in her home town will be giving her a hard time.

On a positive note, Andy the asbestos remover will be good, they said he over performed but I thought he was good and will hopefully be more relaxed (just like I was!) at bootcamp. Not too many stand out girls this week but the last audition was again the most moving! It was soldier Izzy, who had seen friends killed while on tour in Iraq, he’d decided to do something he really wanted to do, and auditioned for the show. All the judges loved him and I predict he’ll be in the final 12.

Icaro was the one Louis and Sharon put through to annoy Simon, he’s not going to be another Chico, so I don’t see the point of putting him through, except that they need some funny stuff for boot camp, and who knows he may go into training and take us by surprise.

My weeks are busy at the moment, I’m having lots of driving lessons which are quite exciting (especially when I drive up on the kerb and nearly knock down an old lady!!) I’m also working hard on my new songs. We have recorded a couple that I’m really pleased about, I think we have found a style that suits me. It will probably take a while before you hear them, it takes lots of planning, but hopefully you will like my new stuff.

I saw Dionne for the first time since the X-Factor yesterday, she was singing on the show with me at Blackpool Pleasure Beach (www.xfactorstars.co.uk) Everyone said she was amazing, and I think she had bad songs in the show, or they didn’t make her look so good, because her performance was incredible. Next week I’m with Nikitta and Ashley (not seen him since the X-Factor tour) so it should be a good week!

This article was written by former X Factor bootcamper, Shaun Rogerson.

Find out more about what Shaun is up to at

www.myspace.com/shaunofficial

www.shaunofficial.com

View the original post Shaun Rogerson Talks X Factor 2007! on Unreality TV

Shaun Rogerson Talks X Factor!

X Factor 2012

Shaun Rogerson

Many of you will remember young Shaun Rogerson from last years X Factor series. He’s the lad who was so nervous he shook his way through his audition, yet so talented and likeable that Simon Cowell backed him right up to the final stages of bootcamp.

Well Shaun has achieved a lot in the last year, and every week he will be writing for Unreality TV, telling us his opinions on the X Factor show and also a bit about what he’s been doing since he was last on our screens.

Here’s his first installment….

So this Saturday was the first showing of the X-Factor and there were some very good singers looking to make their dream a reality

Sarah and Sean, these two were brother and sister, and the judges thought they were really annoying, but in the end they put them through because the had some talent. I also thought a couple of the W4 girls were really good looking (and great singers too!) and everyone knows Simon, always got his eyes on the pretty girls

Have you noticed that it’s always the last contestant of the day has an amazing story, and gets a tear in your eye! This week it was Nikki, who’s dad had died and when they collected his things like his pension books they found an X-Factor application form. It was moving but she also sang ‘I will Always Love You’ beautifully and I think she’ll do well in the competition.

With the X factor you also get the not so good singers who want to also make it in the music industry.

The girl that sang Christina Aguilera Beautiful who thought she was going to go through but did not have that much talent. I did feel sorry for her but I do have to agree with Simon when he said, a few years ago, that the people around her (family and friends) shouldn’t keep saying that they are talented even when they are not because it does break their hearts when they are told the truth.

For me the one that stood out from all the rest this week was Emily, because she had a magnificent voice, even though she was only 14 years old.

Many people that I have talked to over the past few months have said many different things and the same question that comes up is, is it right for 14-year-old boys and girls to enter the X factor?

My main concern with 14-year-old singers in the X factor is not because they don’t have amazing voices, far from it. I don’t believe the voice of a 14 year old singer has properly matured, and in my opinion they are not properly prepared for what’s about to hit them in this cut throat business, known as the music industry.

Over the past year or so I have learned a lot about the music industry, that I didn’t know about after leaving my first year of music college to do what I always wanted to do, sing, and to be honest once I had done the X factor tour it hit me hard. I had to do the single and the album which was an experience because I had never been in a studio before and had to do tour up and down the country. I personally don’t think a 14 year old could handle being away for family for months at a time

But after saying all this, it is their dream and whatever people say, if they want it enough then there’s nothing that will stop them from getting to that goal and we must support their decision.

So lets see over the next few months what talent is out there. It will be interesting seeing Robert back on the show supporting his girlfriend. And if the first day in Manchester is anything to go by, with arguing mother-in-laws, Madonna wannabes, and set destroying dance moves it is going to be a long stretch for our judges!

First in the audition room is 40 yr old landscape gardener Tim who believes he has not only the voice to impress the judges but also the moves – he’s been practising his routine for the last 6 months with huge encouragement from his long term partner Debbie. Unfortunately for Tim Simon is less than impressed, “I’ve go absolutely no idea why you had any encouragement whatsoever. It is about as bad as it can possibly get.

Next up is 16 yr old student Shaun Rogerson, who has a slight problem overcoming his nerves, he stumbles over his words and stops half way through his audition visibly shaking, with the judges taking pity on him Sharon suggests that he takes a break and comes back later when he has calmed down. But will his nerves get the better of him, or will he be able to impress the judges second time around?

At the London auditions Simon has a surprise for Sharon and Louis, in the form of the fourth judge, with Simon believing that when they see who it is “they are going to have to raise their game, in fact I will have to raise my game. And arriving six hours later than expected, in walks guest judge Paula Abdul, much to the delight of Sharon who is thrilled to have a fellow female on the panel.

54 yr old Donna believes she has the potential to be the next international superstar just like Madonna. Singing Madonna’s hit “Like a Prayer, she is “praying that she will impress the judges enough to make it through to the Bootcamp, but Simon is less than impressed “amazingly we’ve missed off the first part of your name, mad Donna.

But there are some treats in for the judges and some acts do appear to have what the judges are looking for. First through to Bootcamp are three sisters Karen Claudia and Natasha otherwise known as Pure Liberty who at last bring a smile to the judges faces especially Paula’s, “I adore you guys you’re so much fun and so talented.

It doesn’t stop there with more “yes’s from the judges coming for 21 yr old receptionist Leona, who impresses Simon so much he gives a rare comment of praise, “Absolutely fantastic a great audition. And six piece harmony group The Unconventionals really make the judges day, despite Simon first thinking he was going to hate them, after their performance he declares that “we could bottle you lot and sell you because you have made every single person in this room smile.

But the flow of positivity is shattered when 31 yr old Michael Jackson fan Onkar Judge walks into the room, after almost destroying the set with his dance moves and hurting the judges ears from his high pitched singing the judges are unanimous that it is one of the worst auditions they have seen so far. But Onkar doesn’t take it lying down shouting “Don’t judge the judge please because there is only one Judge, and that’s me, Onkar Judge

But it is the final act of the episode that has Sharon and Louis in stitches, and all at Simon’s expense. Choir singer Lorraine, 52, from Manchester takes in some addition protection in the audition, in the form of her mother-in-law 86 yr old Edna! But when Simon laughs at Lorraine’s audition Edna is less than happy. “You laughed, you need to alter your ways Simon, a sheepish Simon apologises and looks visibly embarrassed, but Edna doesn’t stop there, “you think you’re better than everyone, but I think you are ignorant, yes you were very ignorant Simon. After apologising again and saying sorry to Edna, a word that rarely leaves Simon’s mouth, he leaves the audition room commenting “I have never been so humiliated in my life.

Switch over to The Xtra Factor on ITV2 to see more exclusive auditions with Ben Shephard, including this week, 72 yr old Brian, who has a unique health tip to keep you looking young, by inserting raw cloves of garlic up his bum! Brian has been placing 2 or 3 cloves there for the last 19 years, which by our calculations means he has gone through over 70,000 cloves of garlic…! And 50 cent fan Marissa astonishes Ben with her own very crude rap song.

View the original post X Factor: Rundown Of Tonights Show on Unreality TV
