Shayne Ward thinks X Factor needs to return to it’s roots!

Shayne Ward has claimed that the X Factor needs to go back to it’s singing roots.

The hunky singer – who won the show back in 2005 – has hit out at bosses on the current series of the ITV show, saying that they need to bring it back to a point where it is all ‘about the voice’ and not the drama!

Imagine our joy when we tuned into This Morning yesterday and were greeted by this vision of loveliness!

Shayne Ward was appearing on the ITV chat show, and we almost didn’t recognise the X Factor hunk, because he was sporting such a voluminous head of hair!

It was no surprise that within minutes of his bum touching the This Morning sofa, Ward was trending on sofa, as ladies with palpitating hearts went online to talk about his gorgeousness.

Shayne Ward has admitted that he is looking forward to tuning into The X factor this year, to check out the chemistry between the new judging panel.

When the hunky singer won the ITV singing competition in 2005, he was judged by Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell. Mrs O later left, while Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue joined the famous panel, however this year, both those women have now departed along with Cowell and will be replaced by Tulisa Contostavlos, Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland.

X Factor: Shayne Ward cried when dropped by Simon Cowell

Shayne Ward has revealed that he broke down in tears, when he was dropped from Simon Cowell’s record label.

The 26 year old singer was automatically signed to SYCO when he won The X Factor back in 2005. He released two successful albums but was held back for three years before releasing his third, by which time his fan base had waned, sales dropped and the music mogul had moved on to bigger and better things.

In April this year it was announced that Simon Cowell was dropping Shayne, not that he told him himself. Ward last saw his boss when he performed on The X Factor last year and speaking about how he was let go, he told The Daily Mail:

X Factor’s Shayne Ward blasts Simon Cowell for focusing on TV shows not artists

Shayne Ward has finally hit out at his former boss Simon Cowell.

The 26 year old hunk won the 2005 series of The X Factor and was immediately signed to Cowell’s record label SYCO. However there was a huge delay after his second album and when a third was released last year and sales weren’t amazing, the singer was swiftly dropped. He parted company with the music mogul’s company in April of this year.

X Factor News: Shayne Ward will be ‘more badass’ than Tom Cruise in Rock Of Ages

Shayne Ward has admitted that he thinks his Irish blood will help him outshine Tom Cruise in his new role in Rock Of Ages.

The former X Factor winner – who was recently dropped from Simon Cowell’s record label SYCO – will portray bad boy Stacee Jaxx in the West End musical, while Hollywood actor Cruise will take on the role for the upcoming movie version, due for release in 2012.

X Factor 2011: Shayne Ward is “happy” that Louis Walsh is still a judge

Shayne Ward, who of course won the The X Factor in 2005, says he’s thrilled that Louis Walsh is still judging on the show.

He said: “Louis is such a massive part of the show, so it is nice to see he is the one remaining judge on the show.

“It brings like the history to show, it would be really sad to see him go.”

Following his victory on ‘The X Factor’, Shayne signed up for a record deal with Simon’s SyCo label, but has recently left the company.

However, the ‘That’s My Goal’ singer insists that he wasn’t dropped, and adds that his departure was a “mutual” decision, based on the fact that he wasn’t getting the attention that he needed.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “I’m not with SyCo anymore, we worked together for six years, it was a mutual thing”. Read more & comment »

Shayne Ward to present The Voice for BBC?

Shayne Ward is said to be in the running for the presenters role on new BBC’s talent show The Voice.

The channel paid a whopping £20 million for the rights to air the US format, which is currently proving to be a massive hit stateside with celebrity mentors Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine, and insiders they are keen for the former X Factor winner to front the show alongside One Show star Alex Jones.

A source close to Shayne – who was dropped by Simon Cowell’s record company earlier this year – told the Daily Star:

X Factor: Shayne Ward lands a role in West End musical Rock of Ages

Former X Factor victor Shayne Ward has reportedly landed a role in West End musical Rock of Ages.

The Sun reports that in doing so, Shayne’s “proved he doesn’t need Simon Cowell” who of course dropped Shayne from his record label back in April.

However, in the musical, Shayne will play the role of rocker Stacee Jaxx, and he said of the part, “It’s a thrill to have been chosen for this part and I can’t wait to show a new side to my voice.

“West End – prepare to rock!”

The musical, which is set in Los Angeles in 1987 and celebrates 80s rock culture, debuts on August 31 at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre. Read more & comment »
