X Factor hopefuls have complained that last years X Factor winner Shayne Ward and the shows host Kate Thornton, mocked them and made obscene gestures as they auditioned at the weekend.

One, Shannon Sellick said: “A year ago Shayne was one of us, queueing for his big chance.

“Now he’s looking down on us, making a mockery of us. I was disgusted by his behaviour.”

But a spokeswoman for Kate said they were simply waving at Destiny, Shayne’s old bandmates, and other people he has met through the show.

She added: “She did not mean to offend anybody and apologises if she did so.”

Some people just can’t take a joke!

X Factor winner Shayne Ward came face to face with his waxwork at Madame Tussauds – and declared: “My mum’s going to love it. She’ll probably want to take it home with her.

The chart-topping singer sat for Tussauds sculptors early last month and donated a £900 Gucci suit for the figure to wear.

Madame Tussauds said it had been inundated with requests from young visitors to make Ward the first reality television star to become a wax figure at the attraction.

He said: “It’s just fantastic. I can’t get over it.

Fans can also see him giving tips on how to be a pop star on a large plasma screen behind his wax double.

After winning X Factor, Ward’s debut single That’s My Goal was the Christmas number one, selling more than one million copies.

The song went on to break records for the fastest-selling download in a day.

He has just released his new single, No Promises, from his debut album, Shayne Ward.

X Factor winner Shayne Ward has today announced the dates of his tour which is due to begin in January 2007.

Ward’s 11-date tour includes performances at the Manchester Evening News Arena, Cardiff International Arena, Birmingham’s NEC Arena. Irish fans will be able to catch their hero in Dublin and Cork.

Ward, 21, will perform a series of hits from the album, including the singles That’s My Goal, No Promises and Over The Rainbow.

He said: “I am very excited about my tour, I can’t imagine what it will be like to sing for so many people on my own but I can’t wait to go out there and do it.

“This whole experience has been a dream come true and a nationwide tour is the icing on the cake.”

There is a bizarre rumour circulating in web land that X Factor 2006 winner Shayne Ward has recently signed Celebrity Love Island star Fran Cosgrove as his new minder.

The former Westlife minder has not yet commented on the rumour, but it would seem to be a step backwards in his career after his rise to fame in last years reality Tv summer hit!

Despite only coming in at number two in last weeks single charts with his second single ‘No Promises’, X Factor winner Shayne Ward has seen his debut album enter the UK album charts this week in the number one position.

He said: “I’m so thrilled to have reached number one with my debut album.

“I’d like to thank all the fans for supporting me – you have been incredible and without you all, I wouldn’t be here today.

“It’s been an unbelievable six months and I still can’t believe that this is real.

“I’m going to have a quiet celebratory drink tonight and then its back to work early tomorrow.”

The winner of The X Factor 2005, Steve Brookstein has commented this week that he is not a big fan of Shayne Wards music.

He seems like a nice guy and he works hard,” Steve explained. “I’m not a fan of the music – but then again, Shayne’s only young so he doesn’t know what he wants, so he’s just going along with the ride.

“Sooner or later he might develop into a serious artist, but right now he’s just pop.”

Brookstein also criticised The X Factor once again, claiming that the public are throwing away their cash by voting for the show.

“It’s a shame people vote so much and waste their money,” he said. “It’s all kind of a… bit of a scam.”

X Factor winner Shayne Ward will replace Victoria and David Beckham next month in the VIP Blush Room of Madame Tussauds.

“This is a real first as no other reality show winners have been immortalised this way,” an insider told The Mirror. “Shayne was the perfect model and is bound to get a lot of attention when he’s unveiled in May. David and Victoria have been in Tussauds for years so a little rest won’t do them any harm.”

A spokesperson for Tussauds added, “Victoria and David are being moved. Figures are moved and rearranged all the time.”

Despite his £1 million recording contract and his various advertising campaigns, X Factor winner Shayne Ward insists that he is still strapped for cash. So strapped that he would even strip off if he was being paid enough.

The 21-year-old said: “People think I’m loaded but it’s not true. The record contract is worth �1m but I pay all the expenses. So I have to work my backside off to get any money.”

Asked about stripping off, he said: “A naked photoshoot? Yeah! Why not? If it was done tastefully it could be quite funny. But I don’t know what my mum would say.”

X Factor winner Shayne Ward may have failed to see his single ‘No Promises’ reach number one last week in the singles chart but it looks like his luck could be changing.

Mid Week sales figures suggest that Shayne’s self titled first album will recah number one in the album charts this weekend.

HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo said: “If this sales trend continues over the week it would represent a fantastic achievement – making him one of the few UK recording artists to enjoy both a debut Number One single and album.

“There’s clearly no letting up in the Shayne Ward success story.

“If he builds on this momentum and continues applying himself in the right way, making the right choice of songs and avoiding overexposure, there’s no reason why Shayne cannot forge a successful long-term career for himself, particularly if he uses Will Young as his role model.�

Shayne Ward has pledged to avoid all the tempations that accompany his newfound fame and stay faithful to his long term girlfriend Faye McKeever.

Speaking to The Mirror Shayne said

“I know what the business will be like, temptations and women – but I’m only interested in Faye. I’m going to fight for this because I really believe in us. Faye’s been there from the start,â€? he told the Mirror recently.

“It is difficult – and I know keeping up a long-distance relationship is going to be very hard – but I’m always on the other end of the phone. If I just set out to be famous then I don’t think we’d last but she knows what I’m doing and she respects it.â€?

“I’m so serious about my music.�

“You’ll never see me falling out of a club. I promise. It’s just not my thing. If I do go out, I’ll be with my mates somewhere there aren’t any celebs just having a laugh.�

He also takes a pretty hard line over fellow pop stars taking drugs: “I think people who do drugs are totally disrespectful to their fans and themselves.�

“If Louis Walsh or Simon Cowell knew any of their acts were doing drugs they should fire them at once.�

“If kids do things because they see their favourite acts doing them then that’s just wrong and I feel really strongly about that.�

X Factor winner Shayne Ward is set to follow in the footsteps of David Beckham by becoming the new face of Gillette.

ITV.com reported that

“Shayne is apparently on the verge of signing a multi-million pound deal with the shaving giants, a move that could rake him in a six figure sum.”

After reportedly winning another lucrative contract with Calvin Klein and also the less prestigious Woolworths, Shayne will be rolling in money by the end of the year!

Shayne Ward has entered at second place in the UK singles chart with ‘ No Promies’, while Gnarls Barkley hold on at number one.

I’m sure this is a disappointment for Shayne and for Sony BMG as they had been pushing sales all week in a bid to capture the number one spot. It will be interesting to see where his album enters the charts when it is released.

Most of us believed that when Shayne Ward released his second single this week, titled ‘No Promises’, it would top the charts as easily as his debut single did last December.

If early sales figures are any indicator though it would seem that Gnarls Barkley is currently heavily outselling X Factor winner Shayne Ward in the race for number 1. ‘Crazy’ shifted 35,000 units on Monday – more than double the 17,000 of Ward’s track ‘No Promises.’

Can Shayne claw his way back to the top by Saturday? His management company is certainly pulling out all the stops, even resorting to emailing many of Shayne’s fans a hand written note from The X Factor winner hinself.
