X Factor’s Shayne Ward finally dumped

Simon Cowell has dropped Shayne Ward from his record label.

We first reported back in December 2010 that the music mogul was preparing to axe the former X Factor winner, after his new album failed to achieve decent sales figures.

The hunk shot to fame when he won the ITV singing show in 2005 and made his comeback on a live episode of last year’s series. However his single Gotta Be Somebody only reached number 12 in the UK charts and album Obsession peaked at number 15.

X Factor: Shayne Ward hasn’t heard from Simon Cowell in 6 years

Shayne Ward has admitted that he hasn’t spoken to Simon Cowell since he left The X Factor.

The 26 year old singer shot to fame when he won the 2005 series of the ITV talent show and though we wouldn’t expect Cowell to keep in touch with all stars of the show, Shayne has been signed to his SYCO record label ever since, so you would expect their paths would cross at some point. X Factor USA: Shayne Ward thinks 12 years old is too young!

Shayne Ward has admitted that he disagrees with the US X Factor’s 12 year old age limit.

The ‘Breathless’ singer – who won the UK version of the talent show in 2005 – believes that 12 is ‘too young’ and thinks Simon Cowell should raise the minimum age to 15 or 16.

Shayne told Digital Spy: “Obviously there are a lot of 12-year-olds over in America who are incredible singers. But I personally think it’s too low. It’s a completely different world over there.

“With the whole Justin Bieber thing, I can see why lowering the age threshold might be seen as a good thing, but personally I think it should be set at about 15 or 16.”

X Factor’s Shayne Ward wants to work with Marti Pellow

Shayne Ward has admitted that he would love to record a song with Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow.

The former X Factor winner admitted that his dream duet would be a version of ‘Love Is All Around’ with the Scottish singer.

Shayne Ward is planning to throw a huge New Year’s Eve party.

The 26-year-old singer intends to get all his friends and family together on December 31 and see in 2011 with a huge bash.

He told BANG Showbiz: “Yeah I’m gonna throw a big party. I love to party! Luckily I’m a good drunk. I hug everyone!”

Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to drop Shayne Ward from his record label SYCO.

A source told the News of the World: “Shayne is finished at SyCo. Simon has tried his best to turn him into a star but it simply hasn’t worked.

X Factor: Shayne Ward thinks Matt Cardle will win!

Shayne Ward is tipping Matt Cardle to win this weekends X Factor final.

The Mancunian singer won the competition back in 2005 and returned for a performance of his new single ‘Gotta Be Somebody’ on a results show last month.

Speaking to OK the hunk admitted that he thinks Matt will follow in his footsteps and said:

“I think Matt’s gonna win it. He’s a lot of people’s favourites at the minute.”

Shayne Ward has denied reports that he accused X Factor’s One Direction of miming on the live shows.

An article in The Sun today quoted him as saying:

“They shouldn’t mime but there has to be a reason. With X Factor you do loads of interviews – a lot of talking.

“So when it comes to the weekend voices are shot. You can tell they’re hurting because they don’t want to mime. Not that I ever did it.”
