Shayne Ward has confessed that he was seriously worried about his future as a singer after he pushed himself one step too far during the X Factor competition.
Towards the end of the show Shayne began to notice a deterioration in his voice and once the series ended Simon Cowell was so concerned that he rushed Shayne to a specialist.
Shayne said: “I was due to start recording when I was hit with bronchitis, laryngitis and a viral infection all at once.
“Simon wanted a second opinion so we went to London’s Harley Street where the doctor found a nodule on my left vocal cord. I panicked — I thought it was all over.
Shayne was told to rest his voice completely and even now is afraid to drink alchohol in case it affects his vocal chords.
He added: “I haven’t had a drink in ages. I’ve got to be careful — I don’t want this to end tomorrow.
Shayne’s debut album titled ‘Shayne Ward’ hits the shops on April 17th.

While Shayne Ward was shooting the video for his second single, he became a witness to a shooting of another kind!
Just feet away from the set he was working on, Shayne watched on as a drive by shooting took place.
A source close to hunky Shayne tells us: “The location has a bit of a reputation but no one could have predicted that – it was a nightmare.
“The shooting came out of nowhere. We heard a screech of tyres, a long volley of shots then a car sped off. It was utterly shocking.”
The crew insider goes on: “It was a miracle neither Shayne nor any of the crew had been injured – the shooting was so close to where they all were.
“Shayne was really shaken but he took it upon himself to go and speak to each member of the crew one by one to make sure they were OK. He was really concerned about everyone and anxious about the guy who was shot.”

Journey South’s self titled album ‘Journey South’, which contains some original songs written by Carl and Andy Pemberton, has pipped the post, and now holds number one spot in the UK album chart.

From one X Factor winner to another, < strong>Shayne Ward has this week spoken out against last years winner Steve Brookstein for slating the show that brought him into the public eye.
When interviewed for the Observer Music Monthly magazine he insisted that Steve should stop blaming Simon Cowell and X Factor producers for his flop of a career, but rather resign with grace and be glad that he was given a chance.
“I do feel a bit of pressure because of what happened last year with Steve. Which is a shame. I do feel sorry for the guy, but it didn’t work out for him,” Shayne tells the Observer.
“I’m not sure why. You’d have to ask him. Obviously there is a lot of feeling out there, like, ‘Is Shayne Ward going to be another talent show flop?’
“If I am then I am. If it happens it happens. But if I do fail to stick around then I know I will not slate the show,”

This week, X Factor winner, Shayne Ward got the best present yet, a trip to Hugh Hefner’s legendary Playboy Mansion.
A source told The Sun: “Shayne and Simon had a great time. I don’t think Shayne had ever seen anything like it.
“Simon invited him to go over there one night after they had been working on filming a video for the next single.
“Shayne was thrilled – what 21-year-old lad wouldn’t be? It was a bit of an eye opener for him.
“He and Simon took a few pictures of themselves with Playboy bunny girls and sent them to Louis from their phones. Louis was amused to find all these weird messages and pictures waiting for him when he woke.”
Shayne was in America to shoot the video for his new single from his debut album due to be released on the 17th of April.

Almost three months after the last piece of glitter fell beside Shayne Ward on the X Factor live final, the three finalists have gotten around to releasing their albums. Hooray! What were their names again? I’m only joking, sorry Steve!
Shayne Ward, Journey South and Andy Abraham have all released (or are about to release) their debut albums.
Shayne’s riding high on the success of “That’s My Goal“, and so he can afford to take a little longer with his self-titled debut
. The album is released on 17 April 2006. I wasn’t overly excited about “That’s My Goal”, but the success speaks for itself. I just hope the material matches expectations!
I’ve heard Journey South
’s long-named first single “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face“, and early indications are good. Thoughtful and sensitively performed, Carl and Andy are appealing to a more mature market and I’m hopeful they’ll carve a decent career for themselves.
Andy Abraham’s The Impossible Dream
is being well received so far. In the aftermath of the X Factor, the amiable Andy is in the unenviable position of being perhaps the least marketable of the finalists, at least in terms of the pop charts.
So, although I don’t think the album chart battle will be quite so dramatic as the X Factor final was, I hope the material does the artists justice and that they all get the success they deserve. Still waiting to hear about Maria Lawson though!

This week anyone whose number was stored on Shayne Ward’s mobile phone got a nasty shock.
Shayne has apparently been firing off naughty text messages to everyone in his phonebook, including Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell!
Some of the rich and famous recipients (who also included fellow X Factor contestant Brenda Edwards)weren’t amused at the rude content of the message and rang Shayne to ask what was going on.
Luckily for Shayne he hadn’t sent the messages at all. His phone had become infected by a virus and was contacting everyone on his phone.
Thats what he says anyway!

Although X Factor winner Shayne Ward looks like the type that would start young, and he has now admitted that he had his first kiss at the tender age of 10, he has revealed that he was actually quite a late bloomer when it came to girls and romance.
He revealed: “I was very young, ten years old, and the girl’s name was Toni. But it wasn’t a proper kiss, just a peck on the cheek.” Shayne says he only started chasing girls properly when he got a lot older.
He added to Britain’s Top of the Pops magazine: “I got interested in girls after my mates – I was actually quite a late starter. I needed to be a perfectionist, so I practised on my hand. I practised loads and loads.”

We reported recently that many X Factor fans were disapointed with the X Factor concert that is currently touring the country. It has been described as boring, and uninspiring and worst of all draining!
Some of you who had seen the show disagreed and have hailed it as ” best gig I’ve been to for years!!!”.
But this recent review by The Evening Standard would suggest that unless you are a die hard fan, this is a show that is sure to disapoint.
They even went as far to say that
“nobody on The X-Factor actually has the X-factor”
Shayne Ward would disagree I’m sure!
