Singing sensation Hayley Westenra has told the PA that she thinks Simon Cowell would “slate” her if she turned up for an X Factor audition.
“I don’t know how I’d have fared on a reality show” Hayley said, adding, “I think Simon Cowell would have slated me.
“You have to be a certain type of singer and have a certain type of appeal.”

An X Factor source told The Mirror: “Brian [Friedman] is working out if it is possible for Cowell to appear as a ghostly figure on stage, or whether someone can float onto the stage with a Cowell face mask on.
Former X Factor contestant Rowetta Satchell has claimed that her former mentor, Simon Cowell should be knighted.
“If he’s not a billionaire, he should be. But I think he’s giving something back and I think he should be a Sir. A source has now told the Daily Record: “It was on Simon’s say-so. He wasn’t that happy with the show a week ago. He felt it was a bit boring and decided it needed shaking up a bit. So he opted to move Louis up the panel this week and Dannii down to the end.

Westlife singer, Shane Filan has let the proverbial cat out of the bag on the issue of X Factor twins, John and Edward Grimes.
Each week Simon Cowell sits in his judging seat of power and tells the nation how much he detests the boys and mocks their lack of singing talent. However Shane has confirmed what we suspected all along and told The Sun that it was actually Cowell’s idea to give the twins a place in the final 12.
Shane said: “We went with Louis to Simon’s house in LA and they took us to a room with a cinema and said, ‘We want to play you something.’

X Factor judge Simon Cowell, has admitted that he is ‘praying’ that John and Edward Grimes will leave the show this week.
Speaking at a press conference this morning to announce his patronage of the Children’s Hospices UK charity Simon added:
“If they win, it will be a complete and utter disaster,” he said. “I’d probably sulk for about six months [and] get on a very fast plane out of the country.”
Louis Walsh has spoken about his return to X Factor last week and revealed that Simon Cowell told him that he was missed.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Walsh explained: “I didn’t really know what it would be like coming back on the show after everything that has happened. I was all over the place after the funeral and I took a couple of days to come to terms with the loss.
Louis Walsh has claimed that Simon Cowell is worried that John and Edward Grimes may just win The X Factor.
After reports suggested that John and Edward received the highest amount of votes last weekend, Louis says that Simon is worried that he may have to give them a record deal.
Walsh told the Daily Mail: “Simon is desperately worried that the twins are going to win. He’s really unhappy, but there is nothing he can do because this is who people are voting for. I thought they were going to be popular, but I never expected this.
X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has admitted that Simon Cowell knows just how to wind her up. She revealed that things get very tense between all the judges on Saturday nights and accused Simon Cowell of being particularly competitive.
Cheryl told BBC News: “There is tension between us on the actual Saturday night, when he starts getting annoying and saying nasty things.
