American Idol judge, Simon Cowell has revealed that he intends to drop the age limit for American Idol in the near future.
Speaking to girlfriend Teri Seymour on US show Extra, he said: “All these shows, including Idol, in the future are going to have to go younger. We’re going to have to drop the age from 16 to 14 soon.”
X Factor judge, Simon Cowell, has revealed that he contemplated suicide when he was a teenager.
He told Parade: “I was always bored. I didn’t like the rules and I didn’t like discipline. So when someone said to me, ‘These are the best days of your life’, I actually thought about jumping off a bridge.
“I was like, ‘If it gets any worse than this I’m done’, because I hated school and I hated my life.”
Whilst touring the UK for the recent Britain’s Got Talent audition, Simon Cowell was allowed to park wherever he wanted, a priveledge usually reserved for the Queen.
Simon insisted that he was able to park his car outside every theatre they visited, and wanted his bodyguard, Tony, to remain in the car for the whole day.
A show insider told The Sun: “Simon likes to get his own way and was adamant that Tony should be able to park the Roller right outside every theatre.
“He hates walking anywhere and the idea of being mobbed fills him with fear.
“So we contacted all the relevant councils and asked them if they could make a special dispensation.
Hilarious!! Simon Cowell was ambushed this week by his ‘first love’ on American Idol as she phoned in unexpectedly to ask if he still remembered their first kiss.
Whats the bets he calls her up this week and ‘catches up’…..
I don’t know how seriously to take this story, but apparently showbiz agent, Max Clifford has revealed that the gorgeous kids on this years series of Britain’s Got Talent have made our very own Mr Cowell broody.
Not only does Simon want to settle down with Terri Seymour and have kids, but apparently he has also promised to name his first born after his agent, Max Clifford.
The wonderfully camp, Bruno Tonioli has revealed that he would love to swap job with Simon Cowell.
He has suggested that he judge on X Factor as a one off while Cowell moves to Strictly Come Dancing and in the process they could try to raise money for charity:
Bruno told The Sun: “We like a bit of a giggle - there is no competition between us. Simon has a lot of ideas for new TV shows and we were discussing swapping jobs - I’ll do X Factor and he’ll do Strictly.
Jay Black over at the TV Squad has written a great article on why he thinks our Simon Cowell should be awarded the job of American President.
Some of Jay’s reasons are inspired and truly hilarious, for example:
1. He’s trusted.
Unlike so many politicians, people actually care what Simon has to say. Admit it, those of you who TiVo American Idol: If you’re pressed for time, you’ll not only fast forward through the commercials, but also Randy and Paula’s comments.
and:
5. He’s a smoker.
While, on the surface it would seem that this is a character flaw, think of this: for the last forty years, we’ve had presidents bowing to the tobacco interests because they needed the campaign money. For the first time in my adult life, we’d have a president bowing to the tobacco interests because he wanted to. Sure, it won’t make you feel any better when you watch your loved ones dropping like coughing, hacking flies, but afterwards, when the anger starts to set in, you can find some solace in the fact that our president is headed for the same fate.
Primeval star, Douglas Henshall has blasted X Factor judges Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell as “terrible people”, and he doesn’t hold their TV show in high regard either!
Henshall, who plays Nick Cutter in ITV’s Primeval, told The Times: “It [Primeval] is old-fashioned entertainment and, if there is more of that in the world, we might get TV back from the clutches of terrible people like Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne. Their shows are one step removed from lions and Christians.”
X Factor judge Simon Cowell has admitted that he has installed a telescope in his LA mansion so that he can spy on his rich and famous mansion.
Simon was inspired by the iconic seventies movie ‘10’, where Dudley Moore’s character did exactly the same thing.
He told The Mirror, “I saw that Dudley Moore film and it was great. Afterwards, I got a telescope installed in my kitchen so I can spy on people.
“I look out over the Hollywood Hills into my neighbours’ gardens. It’s an amazing view. It isn’t powerful enough to see into their homes - so you can’t see them in the shower - but you can see into their gardens.
“It’s great fun. I just like to keep an eye on what is happening.”
I was quite surprised to hear that Simon Cowell had called this years season of American Idol “dull”, as compared to the X factor I think it is almost as exciting as bungee jumping off The Empire State Building!
Cowell told The Sun: “To be honest with you I’m really not enjoying the current American Idol season. It actually reminds me of the last X Factor series we did. It’s just a bit dull.”
I’m not really sure how Simon can compare the two TV talent shows without laughing. Any of the people that were kicked out of American Idol last week, could easily have won last year’s X Factor. Continue reading ‘Simon Cowell Thinks American Idol Is Dull!‘ »
