The Apprentice: Simon Smith You’re FIRED!

On the Apprentice ast night we saw Satellite TV engineer and former soldier Simon Smith get the boot from Sir Alan as the business moghul declared that he was out of his depth.

The teams in last night’s show had to set up their own photography stands in a busy shopping centre and Simon’s team seemed to be plagued by Claire Young and Alex Wortherspoon from the off. The pair tore Simon’s team apart, rather than backing their leader and though the three ended up in the boardroom with Sir Alan decided that being a grafter just wasn’t enough, so he sent Simon the squaddie home.

I was disappointed in Sir Alan once more last night as I actually thought that Simon was a breath of fresh air in the show. He was willing to work hard and put his neck on the line, with very little macho posturing in comparison to the other men. Read more & comment »

The Apprentice 2008: Simon Smith

Simon Smith is a 35 year old Senior Satellite Television Engineer from Harlow. Simon has served in the Royal Artillery as an NCO (non-commissioned officer) and specialised as a surveyor. He served in countries all over the world including Bosnia, Cyprus, The USA, Canada, Northern Ireland and the Middle East.

It was there he trialled the army’s first satellite communications systems. He was given exemplary discharge from service in 1998. He is now a Senior Satellite Engineer responsible for Sky TV installations. Simon is a tough but honest, likeable, salt of the earth kind of guy who claims planning is the key to doing anything well. He loves Sir Alan’s no nonsense approach and claims to have never missed an episode of The Apprentice yet. Read more & comment »
