The lineup for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special has been confirmed and we can reveal this afternoon that bosses are bringing back some of our favourite former contestants for one last sin around the dance floor. Bruce Forsyth will also be back, joining Tess Daly once more to front the BBC festive special and he’ll be presiding over a bunch of the show’s most memorable contestants from the past decade, along with some of our most loved professional partners at
Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Abbey Clancy, Natalie Gumede, Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Susanna Reid “biggest earners” in the show’s history!
Last night, model Abbey Clancy won this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing, but in terms of cash in the bank, all four finalists – who, aside from Abbey were Natalie Gumede, Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Susanna Reid – are winners as it’s been reported they are “the biggest earners in the show’s history!” Apparently, Natalie, Sophie, Susanna and Abbey secured a £75,000 fee to take part in the show, and will be paid around £52,000 for joining the three-week Strictly tour in 2014.
It has certainly been a tough 13 week run for the Strictly Come Dancing 2013 celebrities, but this evening it was all worth it for Abbey Clancy as the lifted the Glitterball Trophy along with her professional partner. This evening has seen a spectacular and glitzy culmination to the 2013 series of the show, but it all came to an end a tad early for Sophie this evening as she finished in fourth place at the beginning of tonight’s results show.
Strictly Come Dancing 2012 Final: Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “gorgeous” Viennese Waltz is “right on the money”
As part of this evening’s glitzy finale, the judges chose one dance for Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her partner Brendan Cole to perform. The judges chose the Viennese Waltz to My Favourite Things by Julie Andrews. Sophie says she let herself go last week as she didn’t come all this way to shy away. “To say I’m proud of Sophie is an understatement,” Brendan said. She also thinks it’s “really cool” that there’s an all-girl final. “You were spinni
Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Injured Sophie Ellis-Bextor says her finale dance is “A bit of a challenge!”
We reported recently that Sophie Ellis-Bextor is struggling to cope with the pain that a knee injury has left her with, to the point that she was at one time concerned she wouldn’t be able to pull off the lifts and exacting steps that are needed for her performances in the coming weekend’s final… Sophie is of course up against Natalie Gumede, Susanna Reid and Abbey Clancy in the all-girl final, and given that each is hoping to waltz off with the Glitterball trophy, they’re all pushing th
Fans of Celebrity Come Dancing finalist Sophie Ellis-Bextor may know that she suffered an injury to her knee earlier in the series after rehearsals with her pro-dance partner Brendan Cole went awry and she fell… However, as Sophie hasn’t had time to rest her knee, the injury has been aggravated and is now causing her to be in “agony” ahead of the forthcoming weekend’s grand final, and there’s some concern that she may in fact have to pull out of the contest.
Strictly Come Dancing semi-final 2013: Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Paso Doble wins a standing ovation but a mixed reaction
For their first dance of the evening, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her professional partner Brendan Cole danced the Paso Doble to Montagues and Capulets by Prokofiev. Sophie said in her VT that she was very nervous about her performance last week and she;s genuinely excited to be in the semi-final. “I’ve sort of got nothing to lose,” she said. Training has taken its toll this week as they’ve of course had two dances to learn.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor has suffered more than her fair share of bumps and bruises this week on Strictly Come Dancing as she attempts to perfect two routines for tomorrow night’s live show. The singer has made it all the way to the semi final and is the bookies’ favourite to win the entire series next weekend, but first she has to at least make it to the dance floor for the semis and that is proving rather difficult.

Strictly Come Dancing moves into it’s semi final stage this weekend, or perhaps we should say it’s limping there! The BBC show features just four remaining contestants but after months of daily dance rehearsals and weekly live performances, the injuries are starting to take their toll. Susanna Reid, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Abbey Clancy and Patrick Robinson will take to the dance floor once again this weekend, but it appears that the hectic schedule is affecting all of the dancers.
