The lineup for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special has been confirmed and we can reveal this afternoon that bosses are bringing back some of our favourite former contestants for one last sin around the dance floor.

Bruce Forsyth will also be back, joining Tess Daly once more to front the BBC festive special and he’ll be presiding over a bunch of the show’s most memorable contestants from the past decade, along with some of our most loved professional partners at their side.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has admitted that she would LOVE to join the X Factor judging panel this year, which is lucky, as there are a few spare seats going!

The Strictly Come Dancing star of course found fame as a singer, though she often models and occasionally DJs too and she thinks all that experience would help her relate to hopeful performers.

Strictly Come Dancing 2013: Abbey Clancy, Natalie Gumede, Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Susanna Reid “biggest earners” in the show’s history!

Last night, model Abbey Clancy won this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing, but in terms of cash in the bank, all four finalists – who, aside from Abbey were Natalie Gumede, Sophie Ellis-Bextor & Susanna Reid – are winners as it’s been reported they are “the biggest earners in the show’s history!”

Apparently, Natalie, Sophie, Susanna and Abbey secured a £75,000 fee to take part in the show, and will be paid around £52,000 for joining the three-week Strictly tour in 2014. Read more & comment »

It has certainly been a tough 13 week run for the Strictly Come Dancing 2013 celebrities, but this evening it was all worth it for Abbey Clancy as the lifted the Glitterball Trophy along with her professional partner.

This evening has seen a spectacular and glitzy culmination to the 2013 series of the show, but it all came to an end a tad early for Sophie this evening as she finished in fourth place at the beginning of tonight’s results show.

Tonight see’s the spectacular finale of Strictly Come Dancing 2013, and there’s still a long way to go before one of the celebrities picks up that Glitterball Trophy and knocks last year’s winner, Louis Smith off the top spot.

Unfortunately, Sophie Ellis-Bextor has fallen at the very final hurdle of the show by finishing in fourth place this evening.

This evening, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her professional partner Brendan Cole danced their showdance to Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance with Somebody.

This week, Sophie says that there’s lots of lifts which can be a tad dangerous, and this could be her final dance with Brendan so she wants to have the best time out there.

As part of this evening’s glitzy finale, the judges chose one dance for Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her partner Brendan Cole to perform. The judges chose the Viennese Waltz to My Favourite Things by Julie Andrews.

Sophie says she let herself go last week as she didn’t come all this way to shy away. “To say I’m proud of Sophie is an understatement,” Brendan said. She also thinks it’s “really cool” that there’s an all-girl final. “You were spinning like magic,” Bruno told her, but all she has to work on is the top line.  “This could be your perfect dance, but there’s a few things you have to change and this could be explosive,” Craig added.

We reported recently that Sophie Ellis-Bextor is struggling to cope with the pain that a knee injury has left her with, to the point that she was at one time concerned she wouldn’t be able to pull off the lifts and exacting steps that are needed for her performances in the coming weekend’s final…

Sophie is of course up against Natalie Gumede, Susanna Reid and Abbey Clancy in the all-girl final, and given that each is hoping to waltz off with the Glitterball trophy, they’re all pushing themselves as hard as they can in training this week. Read more & comment »

Fans of Celebrity Come Dancing finalist Sophie Ellis-Bextor may know that she suffered an injury to her knee earlier in the series after rehearsals with her pro-dance partner Brendan Cole went awry and she fell…

This evening, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her professional partner Brendan Cole took to the dancefloor for the second time to perform the American Smooth to Lisa Stansfield’s ‘They Can’t Take That Away From Me’.

Speaking about Sophie, Len said that she is clear and precise, whilst Darcey added that we all expected too much after that amazing Charleston early on in the competition. One of Sophie’s weaknesses is when she has to create a character she isn’t comfortable with. When she leaves her comfort zone, Sophie doesn’t perform well. Craig is still behind her and wants her “to explode on that dance floor”.
