Stacey Solomon and Aaron Barham are engaged to be married.

The former X Factor contestant revealed the news on Twitter last night and it has since been confirmed that the painter popped the question as they took a romantic carriage ride in New York’s Central Park yesterday.

Stacey couldn’t contain her excitement and took to Twitter to tell fans:

“I can’t believe he’s finally asked me.”

Her spokesperson Max Clifford later released a statement saying:

“Stacey and Aaron are engaged and we’re all absolutely thrilled for them.

“They’re a lovely genuine couple who get on so well.

“It’s a wonderful finale to what has been a tremendous year for her.”

Stacey has had a busy time of late, hosting TV shows, recording Iceland ads, releasing a charity single and all this while pregnant with her second child.

Things aren’t going to calm down in the near future either, as a few months ago Solomon began recording her debut album, due to be released in early 2012. Her first single will be released in February. She will present Sky Living HD’s dating show The Love Machine with Chris Moyles later in the spring.

Stacey Solomon has admitted that she behaved very much like a puppet during and after her time on The X Factor.

The pregnant star shot to fame when she finished third on the ITV series back in 2009 and went on to become the nation’s sweetheart when she won I’m A Celebrity last year.

However, it was a long road getting there and describing what life was like after finishing on the singing competition, she told Fabulous magazine:

“After The X Factor I became part of a machine, I felt like a puppet. They could have told me to shave my head and I’d have said: Pass me the razor.”

A year after the series ended, Solomon decided to move to new management and after being left with a huge legal bill she is now finally happy with her career!

Stacey recently announced that she is pregnant with her second child.

“It was just a lovely surprise, we know the sex of the baby but we’re not telling anyone,” she recently confessed.

Will there be the sound of wedding bells soon? Stacey isn’t sure.

“I’ve got a boyfriend who’s very anti-marriage so I don’t think it’s going to happen,” she admitted.

“I really want to get married, though…It’s every girl’s dream to have that big day, isn’t it?”

Stacey Solomon has admitted that she will be battling it out in the charts with the X Factor winner this Christmas.

The former series runner up and I’m A Celebrity winner revealed yesterday that she is planning to release her own charity single next month, meaning that she’ll be pitting herself against whoever wins the ITV show, in the bid to claim the festive number one spot in the UK singles chart.

The pregnant star decided to release her version of `Driving Home For Christmas’, when fans asked where they could buy it after hearing it on the recent Christmas Iceland ad.

The brunette beauty told The Sun that all proceeds from the song will be donated to Alzheimer’s Research UK and Together For Short Lives, a charity which funds children’s hospices around the UK.

She added: “If I got Christmas No 1 it would be the best feeling in the world. I’d be ecstatic.

“I don’t know if I’d be able to look Simon Cowell in the eye!

“No I don’t think he’d talk to me!”

The X Factor final 16 will release their own charity single tomorrow, a cover of Rose Royce’s ‘Wishing On A Star’, the proceeds of which will also be donated to Together For Short Lives.

Stacey Solomon has announced that she is pregnant with her second child.

The I’m A Celebrity winner and former X Factor runner up – who is already mum to son Zachary – is elated about her expanding brood, although she admitted that she and boyfriend of three years, Aaron Barnham were surprised with the development.

She admitted that the pregnancy wasn’t planned, but in a chat with The Sun added:

“We are really excited!

“And I’m really looking forward to everything, knowing I am sharing it with the person I want to spend the rest of my life with.”

The Essex born singer also admitted that she plans to find out the sex of her new tot asap, as she can’t wait to find out if she’s carrying a little brother or sister for Zac.

Stacey Solomon has admitted that each year, The X Factor is much the same as the series before, however she thinks people will continue to tune in no matter what.

The I’m A Celebrity winner and former X Factor contestant is a fan of new judges Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow and thinks that even without Simon Cowell and despite the fact that the show has shed two million viewers, it will continue to be a big hit for ITV.

The mum of one told Metro:

‘To be honest, they could be anyone and you’d still watch the show. It’s always going to be samey because the show is a certain format and that’s the way it is.’

She added:

‘I think it will always be successful. I think each year is completely different, with completely different acts.’

However, Stacey does have one recommendation for show boss Simon Cowell and thinks he needs to ensure the series more about the singers than judges’ fall outs and rivalries.

Solomon already has her pick of favourites from the 2011 run, having finished in third place in 2009 herself.

She enjoys watching Sophie Habibis sing and explained that ‘her voice is really different.’ She added:

“I like The Risk as well. They are great, especially for boys who have just been put together.”

Stacey Solomon is unrecognisable as she poses in full period dress for a photo shoot in this week’s heat magazine.

Stacey, 21, is the former X Factor finalist-turned-TV presenter who has everything going for her. She’s just signed a new record deal and wrapped up filming all the Iceland Christmas adverts.

The Essex girl is a self-confessed TOWIE fan. She told heat: “They actually did ask me to join the show at the beginning, but because I wasn’t in that circle of friends, I didn’t think it would really work for me. But of course I watch it. It’s everyone’s guilty pleasure. I love it.”

She added: “Arg is the only one for me. I love him.”

“I’m a typical Essex girl at heart. I’ve slapped on plenty of fake tan in my time, just not any more. Those days are over. I’ve grown out of that phase.”

Speaking about her boyfriend Aaron Barham, Stacey said: “ We’ve been together nearly two years now. I met him when I was abroad on a girly holiday. He lives with me now and it’s great. I love him, and I love living with him – it’s brilliant!”

Of Tulisa Contostavlos, and the inevitable comparisons between her and Cheryl Cole that have been drawn, Stacey said, “I don’t think there’s any resemblance between Tulisa and Cheryl at all.

“There’ll always be that pressure because it’s a massive spot to fill, but Tulisa looks great, she’s doing perfectly.”

Stacey then remarked, “I think Kelly has surprised everyone a little with her opinions actually.

“You really want to hear what she’s got to say, and I never thought I would but I love her comments, I think they’re really accurate, spot on.

“And Gary is just beautiful, I just sit and stare at him for a good hour!”

Stacey went on to discuss what’s next for her, and as well as starring in West End musical Wicked, she’s also just landed a new record deal with indie label, Conehead.

Of that, Stacey said, “Finally I get to work on something on my own and I can’t wait,” she said.

“They’re independent, it just means I’ve got the flexibility to do whatever I want and write my own things which I can’t wait to do.”

Stacey Solomon has defended her old X Factor mentor Dannii Minogue, saying that she ‘deosn’t need’ the ITV show.

The Australian star left (or was pushed off) the lineup earlier this year, but Stacey thinks she probably has enough else going on with her career or private life to worry to much about the snub.

Solomon told Fabulous magazine:

“Dannii’s got so much going on…I don’t think she needs The X Factor.”

The Essex beauty also revealed her slight obsession with a certain TV programme, namely The Only Way Is Essex. She added:

“I love it! I think that if people in Essex are getting angry with the show they’re taking it too seriously.”

But is a vajazzle on the cards?

“Definitely not, imagine if the jewels started falling off!”

Stacey Solomon has reportedly been offered a number of different record deals.

The 21 year old star shot to fame on the 2009 series of The X Factor, however in recent times has become better known as a presenter and TV personality. In fact, it’s been a long time since we’ve even heard her sing.

However, insiders say that the mum of one is currently planning her debut album and is being wooed by two different record labels – Warner Brothers and Conehead.

A source claimed that Solomon has been ‘inundated’ with offers from record companies, telling People:

‘Stacey has been inundated with offers but she and her management are currently choosing the best deal.’

As well as finding fame on The X factor, Stacey went on to win ITV TV show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!. She recently presented the Saturday night game show ‘Sing If You Can’ alongside Keith Lemon and released a best-seller book, Stacey Solomon: My Story So Far.

In 2011, she became the face of Super Market, Iceland, taking over from troubled star Kerry Katona.

Peter Andre has felt it necessary to deny dating Stacey Solomon, but we hadn’t heard that he was…

The reality TV star was speaking to Fabulous magazine about supposed rumours that he had hooked up with the former X Factor contestant, however he claimed that they are just fellow ‘geeks’ and very good friends.

Andre said:

Peter Andre adores X Factor star Stacey Solomon – but they’re not an item.

‘Stacey has a boyfriend. She’s gorgeous and hilarious and I wish I could say something is going on but there isn’t.

‘She calls me a crazy geek and I call her a geek. We go out and have a massive laugh together. She’s the best.’

Peter also took time to insist that he and Elen Rivas’ relationship was not faked as part of an elaborate PR stunt. He added:

‘I really fancied her as soon as I meet her.’

‘I just thought Elen was exactly what I needed. Nothing was planned, it just happened.’
