Strictly Come Dancing winner, Alesha Dixon has claimed that the show saved her life. Alesha claims to have felt suicidal after losing her marriage and music career within weeks of each other.
Dixon told The Sun: “It was the lowest point of my life. I just kept thinking, ‘What have I done to deserve this?’ I didn’t see the point in living.”
She added: “Last Christmas was a real, real low point. Anyone who knows me knows that my music career and marriage were the most important things. And I lost them within two weeks of each other.” Read more & comment »
Alesha managed to overcome crippling panic attacks just hours before the show, and went on to perform five amazing dance numbers during the final on BBC One last night.
After the result was revealed, Alesha said:
“I can’t believe it. I feel like I’m going to wake up and it was just a dream.
“It was worth all the bruises, all the lack of sleep, all the painful cuts and sore joints, all the tears and all the 380 hours of training.
“I have spent more time with Matthew than with my family. I’m going to keep dancing – and with Matthew if that’s OK.” Read more & comment »
James Blunt has stepped forward as a last minute replacement for The Spice Girls on this weeks Strictly Come Dancing TV show.
The newly reformed girl group were due to perform on the show tomorrow night, however due to an injury sustained by Emma Bunton the girls have had to cancel.
To be honest, I’d rather watch James Blunt anyway!
Strictly Come Dancing is set to get a little spicy this weekend as The Spice Girls take to the dance floor to perform exclusively on the BBC One show.
Taking a break from the sell-out UK leg of their world tour, Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria will be performing their classic hit 2 Become 1 on Sunday 16 December – the semi-final.
Dancing to the track will be some of Strictly Come Dancing’s own fabulous professional dancers. Read more & comment »
Letitia Dean was the tenth person to be voted off the Strictly Come Dancing quarter-finals tonight (Sunsday 9 December) on BBC One – after failing to impress the judges in the dance-off.
All the couples danced two different numbers again tonight – one Ballroom and one Latin dance, but once again one of those couples had to leave.
But it was Letitia and singer Alesha Dixon who found themselves in the bottom two competing in the dance-off.
Letitia performed the waltz and Alesha performed the Viennese Waltz – their highest scoring dances with the judges. But it was Letitia who had to go.
Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones has admitted to being irritated by the squeaky clean image that people have of him.
“That whole squeaky-clean tag really annoys me,” Gethin told The Mirror. “Yes I’m a Blue Peter presenter but I’m also a normal 29-year-old bloke. I love going out with my mates to the pub and having a drink.
“Last year on Blue Peter I puked in a Red Arrow, was attacked by an alligator and escaped a leopard in the wild. Just because I’m not swearing with a fag hanging out my mouth when I’m doing all that, it makes me squeaky-clean. Well, I’m not and I don’t understand it.”
Many staff and stars from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing were outraged by Kylie Minogue’s diva like behaviour while she recorded a performance for Sunday’s results show.
Kylie demanded a closed set for her song, a source at the BBC1 show told The Sun: “Kylie was quite demanding.
“Everyone was a bit miffed they had to leave when she rehearsed.
“We were delighted to have someone of Kylie’s stature on the show but she did act like a diva.”
