Bruno Tonioli has admitted that he has discussed the possibility of working with Simon Cowell with the X Factor boss.

The music mogul has already poached one judge from BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing this year and after the departure of Alesha Dixon – who recently moved from Strictly to Britain’s Got Talent – Bruno confessed that he may go the same way eventually.

The dance expert, who has been close friends with the SYCO boss for a number of years, told the Daily Mail:

“Simon likes Strictly so much he’d buy it if he could and his mum loves it too, which doesn’t help. He’s asked me about things. I can’t exclude the possibility. It would be great to do something with him, but it has to be the right thing.”

On Simon’s move to steal Alesha away from the BBC series, Tonioli confessed that he was shocked and slightly upset that his friend didn’t tell him what he was planning.

He added:

“Oh, that was sneaky. I should have known because I know Simon very well. He should have told me. It wasn’t a shock. I had a laugh with Alesha so I have no problems. It’s her decision and nothing to do with me.”

When asked what tempted Dixon to leave the BBC for it’s rival channel, Bruno added:

“Only she knows but it’s probably something to do with lots and lots of money. I do Strictly for love, not money. You can’t compare our salaries to The X Factor judges’ because the BBC would never pay that.”

Kelly Brook has hinted that Alesha Dixon may end up regretting her decision to leave Strictly Come Dancing, so she can take up a judges’ role on Britain’s Got Talent.

Brook was hired for the show back in 2009 but fired after only a few days of auditions, reportedly at the request of show hosts Ant and Dec.

The actress and model also took part in Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered by Brendan Cole and told Fabulous magazine that she much preferred the BBC show to it’s ITV rival.

Brook said:

“I’ve been on both sides, and for me there’s a warmth and a niceness to Strictly that BGT simply doesn’t have.

“The whole thing is a circus and I don’t want my life to be like that. I’m quite straightforward. I’ve got enough drama in my life without having to deal with Simon Cowell’s as well! I don’t want it. I’ve got no interest in it.”

On Alesha’s move to BGT, Kelly added:

“I don’t doubt for a second that Simon deliberately stole her from Strictly. I wish Alesha all the best – it’s a fantastic opportunity.”

Kelly also hit the headlines this week, after she tweeted out quite a suggestive picture of herself, holding some coconuts. Warning….there will be boobs if you click through on this link!

Len Goodman has hit out at Simon Cowell, for poaching Alesha Dixon from Strictly Come Dancing.

The dance expert is furious that the music mogul intentionally tried to de-stabilise his show by taking one one of his judges, and later openly admit his reasons for doing so.

The Britain’s Got Talent boss confessed recently that when he asked Alesha to be on his new panel, it was 70% because it would upset the BBC and 30% because he liked her.

Speaking to the Mirror a furious Goodman blasted his rival, saying:

“I would never knock the opposition and I think it is spiteful and mean if that is the case that Simon said ‘I just want to be spiteful towards Strictly’.

“Because why would you want to do that? Why would you want to spoil millions of people’s pleasures? It’s not the right way to behave, so if that is the case – shame on you, Simon.”

However, low though Simon’s actions were, the move seems to have paid off with most audience members at recent BGT auditions agreeing that this year’s panel could be the best yet.

The chemistry between Simon and David Walliams is said to be infectious and so far, people seem to have taken to Alesha as well.

They may have been beaten in the ratings war last year but tonight, The X Factor won over Strictly Come Dancing at The National Television Awards.

The ITV singing show picked up the gong for ‘Best Talent Show,’ having faced stiff competition from rivals Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing on Ice and Britain’s Got Talent in their category at tonight’s ceremony in the O2 arena.

Australian model and TV star Elle Macpherson presented the trophy and announced the success of Simon Cowell’s baby, much to the delight of judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and winning act Little Mix who were all in the audience.

The stars traipsed onto the stage to accept their gong and Tulisa confessed:

I feel like I should do my classic scream but oh my God this is amazing. I definitely wasn’t expecting this, so many people to thank….Richard Holloway, Simon Cowell, oh my God everyone.

Gary added:

The team of the X Factor becomes like a family. We are on the show for so long, it feels like a family so thanks to all the X Factor family. Well done to all the contestants and well done to us guys eh?

Russell Grant has received yet another career boost, after his stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

The chubby astrologer returned to the spotlight, as he amused and entertained the British public on Strictly last year. He may not have been the best dancer, but he certainly put on a good show and his flamboyant ways have brought him to the attention of some West End casting agents.

The Sun has reported that Russell will now take over from acclaimed singer and actor Michael Crawford in the Andrew Lloyd Webber version of ‘The Wizard of Oz’, playing the role of Professor Marvel.

The lead role of Dorothy was previously cast during BBC talent show ‘Over The Rainbow’, which was won by Danielle Hope. Runner up Sophie Evans is now starring as Dorothy and the whole stage show has been choreographed by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips.

Grant said:

“I am thrilled to be back where I’m at my happiest — in showbiz.

“I want to thank the great British public for supporting me in Strictly — without them I wouldn’t be back in the West End.”

Alesha Dixon is shedding her good girl image, by revealing that she has had sex in a variety of places that were not her own bedroom.

The Strictly Come Dancing judge admitted that she has previously romped in both cars and the toilets of a posh London club, during an appearance on Alan Carr’s New Year TV show.

In the quiz, celebrities were asked:

“Who said, ‘I’ve had sex in a big car but then everyone has. I’ve also done it in the ladies’ toilets in a really posh bar in London’?”

The stars were then asked to choose between Olly Murs, JLS’ Oritse Williams or Alesha and Dixon’s fellow Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli looked shocked when his pal confessed to the sexy secrets.

Alesha later said: “It was quite a big car, I recommend a 4×4.”

Strictly Come Dancing will hit the waterways next year, as professionals from the show are set to perform on a large cruise ship.

A number of the stars of the BBC show – including sharp tongued judge Craig Revel Horwood – will put on a show on a P&O cruise ship next summer and it has been claimed that as well as performing on the ship, the experts will also give lessons to holiday makers – Dirty Dancing style!

Richard Halliwell, commercial brand director of Strictly Come Dancing, said: “The Strictly brand is very well suited to an ocean cruise given the heady mixture of elegance, romance, high-class entertainment and exhilarating international ports of call.

“We’re very excited about this new adventure with P&O Cruises and I believe Craig Revel-Horwood has already packed his bags!”

P&O Cruises managing director, Carol Marlow said: “We are so excited to bring the magic of the Strictly ballroom to Oriana this summer. Our passengers will be able to learn with the professional dancers, watch extraordinary show dances and hear some of the secrets of this global phenomenon.”

We can imagine Artem as the new Patrick Swayze……now all we have to do it get tickets!

Our elimination prediction: Earlier today on Twitter, I published my prediction for the elimination order. My gut feeling is that it’s going to be a win for Harry Judd tonight. Jason Donovan will be eliminated first, and Chelsee Healey will be a very deserving runner-up. I think much of this will be down to the McFly fanbase, but if Chelsee Healey continues with the same level of improvement as recently, she may well outperform Harry. However, since the public vote is everything in tonight’s show, Harry Judd could spin around the floor on his butt and still win.

The show kicks off with a gladiatorial dance by the professional dancers to Bon Jovi’s Living On a Prayer. And the show wastes no time showing what a ratings success it’s been this year. Quite right too. I find when a rival show like X Factor becomes overwrought and exhausting to watch, it’s refreshing to watch a show where there’s no agenda being crammed down your throat week-on-week.

Harry Judd and Aliona: Harry’s up first, dancing a quickstep to The Pretenders’ Don’t Get Me Wrong. It’s poised and professional and fast-paced. And it ends with a nice little air-drumming move from Harry. Len Goodman likens tonight to “The Battle of Blackpool” and tells Harry that he came out all guns blazing. Alesha Dixon calls it “a very strong start” while Bruno Tonioli raved about Harry’s “timeless elegance”.

Scores: Craig: 10, Len: 10, Alesha: 10, Bruno: 10 Totals: 40

Jason Donovan and Kristina:Ah, the feather dance! We can’t criticise the dayglo pink they’re wearing, because  that’s our colour! Brilliant to see a more entertaining dance set to a fast-paced version of I Will Survive, and Jason and Kristina danced it brilliantly. Alesha told Jason that he excelled and gave a joyful tango! Bruno described it as a “tango with split personalities”, but loved it overall. Craig gripes that Jason’s bottom was “sticking out”, but praises the number and Donovan’s hard work. Len points out that Jason’s much older than his rivals tonight, but matches them for energy.

Scores: Craig: 9, Len: 10, Alesha: 10, Bruno: 9 Totals: 38

Chelsee Healey and Pasha: Reprising her brilliant Shrek-themed dance from a fortnight ago, Chelsee’s chosen the right routine to showcase how well she’s come along since the beginning of the show. And quite rightly too – she was a complete unknown at the start of this show and now she’s a serious contender. I love her bubbly personality and the fact that she seems to be just a normal girl…who dances almost as well as the professionals! An excellent, fun-packed performance from Chelsee tonight! Bruno calls it a “premium grade jive”, and even Craig is buzzing with positive comments. Len Goodman notes that Chelsee had no dance experience before this show, and Alesha calls it her “favourite jive of the series”.

Scores: Craig: 9, Len: 10, Alesha: 10, Bruno: 10 Totals: 39

It’s the midpoint of the show, and Harry Judd’s leading the field so far. Though if we’re honest, people aren’t happy that Jason and Chelsee got lower marks. The standard is incredibly high this year, and many people think Jason and Chelsee were equally good.

Harry and Aliona: Performing a showdance to Great Balls Of Fire seems apt. If I was dancing with Aliona that’s what I’ve have too. Judd’s showing off the right amount of flesh to secure the phone vote. Although apparently McFly have promised to strip naked if Harry wins tonight. The duo give a fantastic performance, acrobatic and energetic in all the right places, with flips and lifts and Harry finishing off ON THE DRUMS. Alesha said some of the lifts bordered on dangerous, but loved the excitement, while Len and Craig compliment Harry’s talent. There are some criticisms about how much more smooth the routine could have been, but on the whole, the judges loved it.

Scores: Craig: 9, Len: 9, Alesha: 10, Bruno: 9 Totals: 37

Jason and Kristina: Jason wants to take full advantage of the “no rules” element of tonight’s showdance, so he’s going to be throwing the kitchen sink at it tonight. He’s dancing a salsa tonight, and like Harry Judd, the routine is laced with exciting lifts and flips. You know what? I think Jason edges it over Harry for pure showmanship. Kristina discards her costume for something a touch more skimpy along the way and the two collapse on the floor at the end. Brilliant routine. Alesha tells Jason that if it was a marathon, he’d have won already while Bruno calls it a “showbiz extravaganza”. Craig describes it as “ferocious and full on”, which we know is amazing praise and Len tells Jason that he’s a showman.

Scores: Craig: 10, Len: 10, Alesha: 10, Bruno: 10 Totals: 40

Chelsee and Pasha: Chelsee comes out looking like a bargain basement Beyonce to One Night Only. I want to like. The energy is there, but the finesse is not. It’s a rambunctious, energetic affair, but not as smooth as it could be. Which is disappointing, because I’d hoped Chelsee would squeak an all-10′s score on her last dance. Bruno notes a few rough edges in the performance, but Craig compliments the lifts especially for the danger element. Len compliments the “elements of hustle” and says all the finalists have given their all tonight. Alesha Dixon finishes by saying that Chelsee was set free and that she dances with her heart.

King of the Jungle Dougie Poynter swapped creepy crawlies for the Strictly Come Dancing studio to show his support for his dancing bandmate Harry Judd.

Fresh from his victory on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity, Dougie brought along his crown to show Harry how it’s done ahead of this Saturday’s Strictly final. Will it be a double victory for the McFly boys?

Harry will face stiff competition this weekend from Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healy and Australian star Jason Donovan. However bookies seem sure he is set to triumph….would you agree?

Has Strictly won this year over the X Factor

It’s has certainly been winning the ratings war, but then they’ve carefully been placed apart in the viewing schedules this year, which has meant that we’ve all had time to watch Strictly before heading out to play on a Saturday night.

Or maybe that’s just an excuse…

Have we all lost interest in the X Factor? And this time is it for good? Last year we were wondering the same thing about Strictly, but this years line up of contestants has seen a reverse in opinion, we’re a nation hooked on glitter, sequins and some amazing (and some dodgy) dance moves. This year the shake up of judges on the panel, expected to breath new life into the X Factor seems to have done the opposite. We have chosen to switch off from them bickering and whinging in our thousands -

The X Factor final this year averaged out over the weekend at 12.9 million viewers, 4 million down on last year. Whilst Strictly’s Semi Final averaged 11 million on Saturday, 10.9 million on Sunday, so the figures are closer this year than they have been for some time.

So are we falling back in love with a dance show that we’d almost given up on? And can Simon Cowell resurrect the X Factor into something glorious again next year? The X Factor has been marred this year by negative press coverage and a wannabe pop star with a part time drug habit, whereas Strictly has seen some of the best contestants competition for that trophy in a long time.

I suppose only time will tell who has won the overall battle. But at the moment, I’m on the side of the sequins.
