Strictly Come Dancing contestant Natalie Cassidy, has come up with a cunning plan which will see her stay on the BBC TV show.
Natalie is most famous for her role as Sonia Jackson on Eastenders. Sonia famously played the trumpet on the soap and Natalie has threatened to take up the instrument and play with the orchestra if she gets booted off the show.
Ricky Whittle has thrown his hat in the ring for the lead role in Dirty Dancing 4, if the movie is ever made.
The Strictly Come Dancer told The Sun: “Antonio Banderas is getting on and sadly Patrick Swayze has gone, so I could be the lead in Dirty Dancing 4. I’d love to do Patrick.
“I know Patrick wasn’t a black baldy but I would be willing to wear a dodgy wig.”
After being trounced in the ratings week after week, the BBC have finally decided to move Strictly Come Dancing to an earlier spot.
After pitching the show head to head with ITV’s X Factor this year, the singing show averaged 10.9m viewers on Saturdays compared to Strictly’s 7.8million.
By next Saturday Strictly will start at 6.50pm and end at 8.45pm, while the X Factor starts at 8pm. The shows will only overlap for 45 minutes.
Strictly Come Dancing bosses are said to be in a panic after Ali Bastian was struck down by a virus.
Ali’s dance partner, Brian Fortuna was ill first and passed the virus on. Staff are said to be worried that the pair are suffering from swine flu.
One pal told The Sun: “We were petrified Ali had caught swine flu, but she has been downplaying it. She made it to her rehearsal but she fears it getting worse.
Following recent performances from Dionne Bromfield, Amy Winehouse and Spandau Ballet, Strictly Come Dancing will be playing host to a number of other well-known musical artists over the next few weeks on BBC One.
Confirmed for this Saturday is Harry Connick Jr., who will be singing ‘The Way You Look Tonight’.
Waiting in the wings are The Bee Gees who will perform their classic disco hit ‘You Should Be Dancing’ on Saturday 31st October. This will be their only TV performance while they are in the country so make sure you don’t miss out!
Tess Daly has claimed that more than one couple are getting it on, backstage on Strictly.
Writing in her column for The Mirror, Daly commented: “There’s love in the air backstage with more than one romance in the making. Mum’s the word, but keep tuned. Not surprising when you consider the physical proximity of dancing and the time spent locked in sweaty training rooms.”
Ricky Whittle has admitted that working on Strictly Come Dancing and Hollyoaks at the same time, is much tougher than he expected.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Whittle explained: “I’m working 12 hour days filming Hollyoaks, then straight off to the studios in Liverpool with Natalie [Lowe] to rehearse until 11pm. I’m losing weight really fast because of all the exercise.”
He continued: “With Strictly I am mentally and physically knackered, everything aches. I knew it would be hard but I never thought it would be this tough.
Despite being kicked off Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday, dancer Kristina Rihanoff has insisted that it won’t be the end of her relationship with Joe Calzaghe.
Kristina told The Sun:
“He’s a very, very good-looking guy. He’s in top shape. Yes, I do think he’s sexy.”
“He’s the nicest and kindest person I’ve ever met. He’s a really, really nice guy.
Strictly Come Dancing contestants are said to be complaining that Ali Bastian has an unfair advantage on the show.
The Mirror reports that the former Hollyoaks actress attended stage school for three years, where she received various ballet and dance training.
One of the show’s professional dancers allegedly said: “It does give her a bit of an advantage. Her natural talent has already been honed by several dance tutors.”
