The cast of Jesus Christ Superstar have been moaning about how very nice Mel C is to work with.
We would have thought that the stars of the show would love working with someone as kind and gentle as the former Spice Girl but Tim Minchin and Chris Moyles have revealed that they would be more comfortable acting out and making ridiculous demands from bosses, if the singer was a little bit more of a diva.

Andrew Lloyd Webber has reportedly decided not to venture down the reality TV route again, after his latest series ‘Superstar’ attracted such poor ratings.
The composer agreed to conduct a search for an actor and singer who could take on the lead role in his hit musical ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ on ITV this summer, having previously aired all his other series’ on BBC One.
However, while former runs have attracted in excess of six millions viewers per week, ‘Superstar’ struggled to top the three million mark on many nights.
The show ended on Wednesday, and Ben Forster won the role of a lifetime but insiders say Lloyd Webber is now done with the TV route. One told The Daily Mail:

As fans of Superstar will know, David Hunter left the contest last night, which leaves just three remaining hopefuls, Rory Taylor, Ben Forster and Roger Wright, and it seems all three are now desperate for the show to end so that they can get back to some semblance of normality.
Because of course, for two months now, the Jesus wannabes have been away from their partners and families, and it seems that the separations are becoming hard to bear.
Rory, who’s dating Jess Broadbere, told TV Biz, “My girlfriend has been brilliant, really understanding.
“Although the show has been a fantastic experience, I’m looking forward to the end so I can have some time with her…” Read more & comment »

It seems that Jesus wannabe Nathan James – who is one of just five remaining finalists on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s talent quest show Superstar – is earning a reputation as a right diva backstage…
But what’s more, he’s apparently been so nasty to some of the production crew that Superstar’s bosses have “read him the riot act” over the weekend.
The Sun reports that Nathan reduced a female member of the production team to tears last week when he lambasted her for not ensuring enough seats in the audience were reserved for his family and friends.
He also apparently screamed at the show’s make-up artists, telling them, “Never touch the hair!”
One unnamed source at the show said, “He must think he already is Jesus to be getting away with this sort of stuff… Read more & comment »

X Factor judge and Take That front man Gary Barlow is to join the Superstar finalists tonight (Monday) to duet with them…
Gary, who will play piano, will take to the stage with the finalists to sing Take That’s hit Greatest Day during tonight’s edition of the show.
What’s On TV reports, “The move will reunite Gary with Andrew Lloyd Webber, who he teamed up with to co-write the Diamond Jubilee chart-topper Sing earlier this summer.”
However, Gary is just one of a number of big name performers who are set to take to the Superstar stage this week. Opera singer Katherine Jenkins is set to perform on Tuesday night’s show, while Mel C - who is of course one of the judges – will sing during Wednesday night’s final… Read more & comment »

Britain’s Got Talent judge – and of course, Superstar host – Amanda Holden has struck a very sexy pose for the cover of Fabulous magazine this week, emulating Christine Keeler’s infamous photo shoot from the sixties…
And not only did Amanda pose for the glam shots – which you can see in Fabulous magazine, which is free with the Sun tomorrow – she also revealed in an interview with the mag that she’s hooked on “mummy porn” bestseller novel, Fifty Shades of Grey.
She joked, “When I go into Homebase now, I never look at rope and chains in the same way.
“I don’t see things as garden tools, I think: ‘There’s a possibility for the bedroom there’…” Read more & comment »

Yesterday, we reported that Superstar boss Andrew Lloyd Webber had ordered some of the chubby finalists to slim down if they hope to be in with a chance of landing the lead role in his remake of hit seventies musical, Jesus Christ Superstar.
And it seems he’s also ordered all the finalists to cut out the booze and nookie – banning the wannabes from having lady friends at the luxury house the finalists are sharing – in order to make them “focus” on their singing and performances on the live shows.
A show insider told the Sun, “For a show about finding the new Jesus Christ Superstar, some of the behaviour has been distinctly un-godly.”
The paper adds, “With the exception of teetotaller David Hunter, contestants had been indulging in boozy sessions after the live ITV1 shows and while watching the pre-recorded episodes…” Read more & comment »
