Strictly Come Dancing 2011: Tess Daly admits Chelsee Healy suffers from a ‘lack of confidence’

Tess Daly has revealed that despite reaching the Strictly Come Dancing final this weekend, Chelsee Healy does not yet believe that she is a good dancer.

The host of the BBC dance series – which will wrap up in a huge sparkly final in Blackpool Ballroom in just a few days time – admitted that she can’t believe how little the young Waterloo Road actress believes in herself, despite constantly being praised by the judging panel.

Strictly Come Dancing 2011: Tess Daly wants Michael Caine for next year’s show

Strictly Come Dancing returns to our TV screens this weekend and on who would be her dream contestant for the BBC show, presenter Tess Daly confessed that she would love to work with Michael Caine.

The blonde beauty is keen to land the ‘Italian Job’ star for next year’s series and told The Sun’s Buzz magazine:

“Michael Caine once told me he was a big fan of the show and never misses an episode, ready when you are Michael!”

Strictly Come Dancing 2011: Tess Daly says this year’s show will be “bigger and better”

The PA today report that Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly believes this year’s show will be “bigger and better”, and that she hopes she’ll still be working on the show for years to come.

Speaking at the Glamour Awards, Tess said, “They’re casting for it at the moment. It was big last year and it’s going to be even bigger and better this time.”

And when asked if she’d ever considered leaving the show, Tess said she hadn’t, and added, “They will have to wheel me out when I’m 75. I love it.”

Tess was then asked how Claudia Winkleman’s exit from Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two will affect her, given Tess co-presents the show with Claudia.

She said, “Fingers crossed she’ll keep doing the Sunday results show.

“I keep texting her about it. You never know with a baby.”

I assume Tess is referring to Claudia’s pregnancy as opposed to just calling her co-star a baby… Read more & comment »

Strictly Come Dancing: Tess Daly reveals secret affairs!

Tess Daly has confessed that there are always lots of secret affairs on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The blonde beauty, who hosts the BBC One reality TV show explained that she was glad when 2010 series winner Kara Tointon admitted she was dating her professional dance partner Artem Chigvintsev, because she said most of the romances stay under wraps and behind the scenes.

She said: “They are such a cute couple – but thank God that finally a couple came clean about it. There’s always tons of romance, but no one ever admits it.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2010: Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will present Sundays night show

Series eight of Strictly Come Dancing will return with a live Saturday night competition followed by a Sunday night results show in which viewers will see their favourite competitors saved from elimination.

The Sunday night results show will be presented together by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

BBC Controller of Entertainment Commissioning Mark Linsey says “Strictly pioneered the Sunday night results format and this year we’re back with the perfect finish to the weekend. Tess and Claudia were the obvious choices to present and we’re really proud that a fresh Strictly will return with must-see, family event television.”

Tess Daly to co-host The One Show?

Strictly Come Dancing presenter, Tess Daly, will reportedly be taking over from Christine Bleakley on the BBC’s The One Show.

The Sunday Mirror reports that the show’s bosses expect Tess will have “the same sparkling on-screen chemistry” with Jason Manford as Bleakley had with Adrian Chiles.

Although 41 year old Tess may share the job with “roving reporter” Angellica Bell, as she fears a full-time commitment to the show could interfere with her Strictly role.

Tess Daly has denied rumours that she is being replaced on this years Strictly Come Dancing and insisted that she will be back.

Sources had suggested that Christine Bleakley would be replacing Tess as co-presenter of the BBC dance show but the star told The Mirror:

BBC bosses are reportedly considering asking Christine Bleakley to replace Tess Daly as presenter of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Northern Irish woman currently fronts The One Show for the channel, but is thought to being wooed by other TV networks who want to poach the enigmatic star. She competed in series six of the dancing show.

Tess Daly has claimed that more than one couple are getting it on, backstage on Strictly.

Writing in her column for The Mirror, Daly commented: “There’s love in the air backstage with more than one romance in the making. Mum’s the word, but keep tuned. Not surprising when you consider the physical proximity of dancing and the time spent locked in sweaty training rooms.”

Strictly Come Dancing: please replace Tess Daly with Claudia Winkleman!

So I’m watching Strictly Come Dancing tonight and as if Bruce’s jokes aren’t bad enough, Tess Daly’s wonky eye and unbalanced boobs freaked me out big time. It doesn’t help that she can’t actually present live TV shows, with any semblance of flair.

Tess obviously came from the Kate Thornton school of TV presenting and believes that all lines must appear scripted and any sign of human warmth or spontaneity must be avoided at all costs.
