Apprentice candidate, Lorraine Tighe has admitted that she “looked horrific” whilst appearing on the TVshow.
Lorraine, who often looked like she needed a good old wash, says that she felt overshadowed by her fellow female competitors.
“I was alongside a group of particularly pretty girls… All the girls were slim, lovely and well turned out. Then there was me,” she told The News Of The World.
“Kate [Walsh] would go to bed every night in her makeup so she looked groomed the next day, and Debra [Barr] would wear £1,000 Armani dresses. I felt like I was trapped in a beauty pageant. I was way out of my depth.”
Lorraine Tighe has revealed that she wishes she had never appeared on BBC’s Apprentice TV show.
Lorraine said that her appearance on the show has upset her family and ruined her reputation.
She told the Lancashire Evening Post: “My family never signed up for a reality television show. They live in a small town in Ireland and from their point of view it has ruined their reputation there.
“If I had my chance again, there is no way I would do it again. The whole experience has been a very tough lesson for me to learn.”
Apprentice boss Sir Alan Sugar wanted to hire both show finalists this year according to Kate Walsh.
Kate lost the show to Yasmina last week but insists that Sir Alan wanted to hire her as well.
Walsh told The Sunday Mercury: “Sir Alan phoned to say on Friday what the outcome was. He said he tried to get the BBC to let him hire us both but he wasn’t allowed because of the format of the show.
Tonight saw the final Apprentice of the year and boy was it a good one!
Kate Walsh and Yasmina Siadatan went head to head in a confectionery based task, where each woman was responsible for creating and launching their own range of chocolates.
Kate’s team came up with ‘Choc Amour’, a product which was designed for sharing between couples, whilst Yamsina’s team produced ‘Cocoa Electric’ a shocking’ box of chocolates, which were almost inedible.
Taste obviously wasn’t an issue and Alan Sugar obviously isn’t a chocolate fan, because after admitting that Yasmina’s chocolates were vile, they were also cheap to produce and he moved on to hire her. I feel sorry for poor Mrs Sugar, I bet Valentines Day is a disappointment in their house.
So Yasmina landed a six figure job and Kate is left high and dry but somehow I don’t think she’ll be destitute. Surely her and Phillip are good for at least one or two big magazine spreads?
The Conservatives have called for Sir Alan Sugar to quit his TV show ‘The Apprentice’, after he accepted a job from Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
They say his new role as an “enterprise tsar” for the government is “completely incompatible” with BBC rules.

Apprentice finalist Yasmina Siadatan has accused producers of editing her unfairly in the shows most recent episode.
Last week’s episode saw Yasmina struggle to answer questions put to her by the formidable Claude Litner. As he grilled her on her company accounts she squirmed and was obviously out of her depth. yet Yasmina was shown to emerge from the interview and describe it as “very good” and “actually enjoyable” in a conversation with her fellow candidates.
Sir Alan Sugar’s advisor, Margaret Mountford, has quit the show after five years.
The Northern Irish corporate lawyer acts as Sir Alan’s eyes and ears on the show, as she and Nick Hewer shadow teams of candidates and report back on their performance throughout the tasks.
The Sun reports that Mountford will quit after this years series ends in order to finish her doctorate on ancient Egyptian manuscripts.
With just days to go until Sir Alan Sugar chooses his new Apprentice, viewers are offered a chance to review the candidates who didn’t quite make it this year.
From washing cars and selling soap to creating a cartoon character for a new breakfast cereal, the budding business men and women have been tested to destruction.
Sir Alan Sugar is quite the business man and in my mind he would be crazy not to take Debra Barr up on her recent offer.
After being sacked from The Apprentice last night for being too rude and offensive, Debra has revealed that so strong is her desire to work for Sir Alan, she would be prepared to do for for a substantially lower sum than the £100,000 figure awarded to the winner of the show.
She told The Sun: “I was gutted not to be in the final.
Tonight’s Apprentice show had to be the best of the series so far. I love to watch the candidates squirm under the pressure of the four part interview and every year there is serious fall out from this phase of the process.
Although Sir Alan sacked three candidates before next week’s final, the big loser tonight was without doubt James McQuillan. James was almost mocked by each of Sir Alan’s advisors. They branded him as immature and it didn’t help that he littered his interview with Karen full of Willy Wonka references. Claude said his CV was full of jibberish, and the line of the night had to be James description of his last job as:
‘I put a leash on people who spunk money up the wall.’
The fact that he sold himself by saying that Sir Alan should hire him because:
I can bring ignorance to the table
just proves how much the village idiot he really is.
Lorraine’s big downfall tonight was the fact that she talked an abundance of crap to her interviewers, rambling on about her powers of mind reading. If the mother of two really could tell what people were thinking surely she would wash her hair or choose a less ridiculous colour of lipstick before venturing out of the house.
Debra impressed the interviewers with her composure and intelligent responses to their questions however the fact that her co-workers and former bosses described her as:
‘rude, foul mouthed and ignorant. ‘
and
‘very aggressive and rude, people either love her or hate her, most people hate her.’
raised serious concerns about her ability to function within a team environment. When Sir Alan fired her he admitted that it may have been a huge mistake but he didn’t feel that she was yet ready or mature enough for the challenges he would expect her to face.
So next weeks final will see Kate and Yasmina go head to head. Given that Yas lied about her turnover and profits and wasn’t too worried about the prospect of making her mother homeless should her restaurant go under, I can’t see her winning……can you?
I love this point of The Apprentice series, the scary interviews. This week the remaining five candidates face four of Sir Alan’s trusted colleagues for the grilling of their lives.
For some reason I don’t think James will do too well but ultimately I think cocky Debra will run into trouble when challenged.
The Apprentice final has been moved from its regular Wednesday night slot to a Sunday evening, in order to accommodate a football match.
The final epoisode of the series will air on Sunday, June 7 at 9pm on BBC One and so will no longer clash with ITV’s coverage of an England World Cup qualifier with Andorra.
“We appreciate that many viewers will want to watch both The Apprentice final and the England World Cup qualifier,” said a BBC spokesperson.
