Other more unusual events included for the first time were white water kayak slalom, kendo and archery.
Javine, 24, who last year represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest, was dubbed “Javine Machine” after winning six out of nine events. Her wins included hurdles, gym floor, swimming and the 100m sprint.

The Games has previously saw former Spice Girl Mel C severely injure her knee, leaving her in recuperation for months afterwards there has been yet another serious injury.
Rapper Goldie was left writhing in agony after he got his leg tangled in the tow rope handle before he landed. When examined by paramedics on the scene it was confirmed that his leg was broken.
Former Coronation Street actor and popstar (ha ha) Adam Rickett stepped into Goldies place at the last minute.

Another night, another injury, and last night on Channel 4’s < strong>’The Games’ was no exception.
As the girls were competing to win the speed cycling tournament, TV presenter Amanda Lamb tried to cut in front of fellow competitor Michelle Gayle. Too late she realised that she had come in too close, and as the bicycles have no brakes (how dangerous is that!) Michelle ploughed directly into the back of Amanda’s bike.
Amanda escaped unharmed, but Michelle was knocked from her bike and sustained some very nasty cuts and abrasions. Worse still because she failed to cross the finish line she received no points for the event. A sure kick in the teeth for such a competitive woman.
MP Julia Goldsworthy went on to win the race leaving the bookies favourite Javine to come in second place.

Watching The Games afternoon heats today on E4 really brightened my day. I’m not much of a sports fan, but the sight of all those young men (especially JK) in skin hugging leotard type things that left little to the imagination stopped the usual flicking of the TV channels, and kept me glued to the show.
I can’t wait for the main event on Channel 4 tonight when I can ogle the boys some more. I mean even Peter Duncan, who is a bit old for my taste looked really dishy in his weigh-lifting get up.
Bring on the swimming and diving competitions next week, I don’t know if my heart can cope with all this excitement!
