X Factor 2012: Christopher Maloney refuses to take blame for Ella Henderson exit

The X Factor star Christopher Maloney insists it is not his fault Ella Henderson was voted out of the competition.

The talent show contestant, who quit Twitter this month after receiving sickening death threats on the social networking site, says Ella would still be on the show if the public had voted for her to stay.

He told The Sun: “The public are picking up the phone and voting for me. If they would have picked it up and voted for Ella or James and kept them in, then Ella would still be here.

“It’s not my problem.”

And while the aspiring pop star is enjoying his time in the competition, he is not willing to put his life on the line for the programme.

On his recent death threats, he said: “I take the competition seriously but not to the point where someone wants to stab me.”

But Christopher believes he now has a serious chance of winning the contest after remaining on the ITV show throughout the series.

He told the Daily Mirror: “I go out week after week and all I get is bad comments, but it’s so close to the final now I could win.

“I’m working harder than any other contestant probably ever in the competition.”

X Factor 2012: Little Mix ‘banned from meeting Rihanna on show’

Former X Factor winners Little Mix were allegedly banned from talking to Rihanna when she performed on the X Factor.

The girl group, who were formed on the TV talent contest last year, were apparently told to avoid the singer before she took to the stage on their series of the show.

Band member Jesy Nelson told We Love Pop: “We were on The X Factor with Rihanna and Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga was amazing, but we didn’t get to speak to Rihanna.”

Fellow Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock added: “Her management wouldn’t let anyone meet her, but she walked past me and said, ‘Your hair is awesome!’ This was when I had my head half-shaved, which I hated, so it cheered me up. ”

And while Umbrella singer Rihanna wasn’t the chattiest of stars on the night, the girls did get the chance to talk to pop princess Kylie Minogue earlier this year.

Jesy added: “We met Kylie at the BRITs. I kept looking at her bum because she’s got a really nice bottom.”

However, the girls could be inundated with meeting requests from their fellow stars in the future – they hope to soon become the biggest girlband on the planet.

Leigh-Anne said: “I want us to be the biggest girlband in the world. You’ve got to aim high. I’d like to achieve that within three years.”

Fellow band member and girlfriend of One Direction’s Zayn Malik, Perrie Edwards added: “One Direction have kind of opened up the gates for everyone else, hopefully. We’ll see.”

X Factor 2012: James Arthur suffered crippling self confidence issues before show

The X Factor 2012 star James Arthur once suffered with such low self esteem that he insisted he was too ugly to be a pop star.

The singer’s half-sister, 17-year-old Charlotte, has lifted the lid on his self confidence problems but says James, 24, feels more comfortable with himself after rising to fame on the TV talent show.

Charlotte told the Daily Mail: “The family can see that James is so, so happy now.

“He never used to think he was attractive or that he looked like a rock star.

“But now he has lots of female fans, and his confidence has grown so much, it’s lovely to see.”

James has grown close to a number of his fellow contestants while taking part in the contest and was last week devastated to see friend Ella Henderson leave the competition. Read more & comment »
