Well she’s probably one of the last people in the free world to do so, but Cheryl Cole has finally signed up for a Twitter account.
And unlike dozens of others, this one’s the real McCoy, and verified as being @cherylcole.
We think it is great news. We can find out from the horse’s mouth when she dyes her hair blonde or has a birthday party (Check out all the photos of Cheryl’s birthday party).
One of her first tweets read, “dont believe everything you read….except what you read here!
“News and updates direct from Cheryl and team.”
Within minutes, she had over a quarter of a million followers, a bit like myself… ok, that’s a lie.

ITV are getting very Internet-friendly with a new Twitter stream for Britain’s Got Talent fans.
If you’ve never heard of Twitter before, it’s a fairly new web service that allows people to share little snippets of their lives with friends and family. You can even update your Twitter page from your mobile phone.
