The Urban Gypsies are a group of ordinary ladies with ordinary jobs, who come together once a week to learn belly dancing from Nikki Franklin. Nikki has been dancing since she was in her 20s and has learnt African and Egyptian dancing which she has blended to create a new “unique” form of belly dancing, which she says uses every part of the body. The ladies attend Nikki’s class every week and describe it as a “sanctuary, a place where they can forget about their busy lives and relax”. They entered the competition for a bit of fun and to “try something different”.

Judges Comments:

2 Buzzes from Simon and Piers, 2 yes’s from Amanda and Simon

Amanda – You look fantastic. If we put you through, would like to see less clothes.

Piers – It’s not belly dancing, you’ve proved dancing is for young fit people. Think you should wear more clothes.

Simon – Anna, you need a support bra, you nearly knocked out 2 of the dancers. Needed to be more fun with less clothes.
