The stars are tuning into Strictly but it doesn’t seem that they can agree on who is set to win this weekend.

Jason Donovan, Harry Judd and Chelsee Healy will go head to head in the Blackpool Ballroom tomorrow night and Jo Joyner admitted that she is backing the former Neighbours star.

She said:

“What I love about Jason is that he is clearly a very good actor. When he gets a dance he can really get his head into, like the salsa, he gets into character and he’s all macho and it really works for him.”

Pixie Lott is getting behind the Australian too and explained:

“He just puts so much into it, loads of people love him for that.”

Meanwhile, Graham Norton is getting behind McFly star Harry Judd. He said:

‘I’d quite like Harry to win, because what a fabulous year for McFly!”

Chris Evans added:

“I do actually think he’s going to win. That boys is a natural…his lines…when he puts his arms and legs out they are so straight.”

Vernon Kaye is backing Waterloo Road actress Chelsee Healy for the win and commented:

“Chelsee has done me proud. She’s come so far. Her personality, her character has really shined through on the series this year.”

Stacey Solomon has finally landed her first full time TV presenting role.

The X Factor star, who also won I’m A Celebrity in November last year, recently revealed that she would love a career on TV and now will front Saturday night show ‘Sing If You Can’ with Vernon Kay.

Speaking about her new role, the mum of one said:

“I am really looking forward to what is going to be a really fun new series and working with Vernon Kay and the fact that the show is going to be such a big benefit to the Teenage Cancer Trust is brilliant. I realise I’ve lot to learn as I’ve never presented a TV show before but I can’t wait to get started.”

X Factor twins Jedward and Simon Cowell’s ex-girlfriend Sinitta have already signed up for the series , which will feature celebrity teams trying to continue singing, while carrying out daring and frightening tasks.

Craig Revel Horwood has admitted that he wouldn’t support Vernon Kay as a replacement for Bruce Forsyth on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The famously acid-tongued judge believes if the 82-year-old TV veteran permanently quits the BBC One show, Vernon – who has been touted as his replacement and is married to Bruce’s co-host Tess Daly – wouldn’t be the right presenter, as there is only one person who is “absolutely perfect” for the job.

Speaking on ‘OK! TV’ about whether Bruce will be hosting the next series of ‘Strictly’, Craig said: “Well I’m hoping that he is. I would not like it to just fizzle out and tail off – I think he is the show.

“There isn’t anyone in this country – I think – that can do what he does. He’s a song-and-dance man and if anyone was to ever take over, I’d say it would have to be a song-and-dance man.

“Is Vernon a bit of a song-and-dance man? I don’t think so, darling. There’s no one that matches to him. You can go through a plethora of stars, people or hosts that could do it but you can’t get better than Brucie. He’s perfect for our format – absolutely perfect. I would hate to see him go.”

Despite Craig’s reluctance to see Vernon step into the ‘Strictly’ host’s shoes, Bruce – who relinquished his role on the Sunday night results show during the last series – thinks the 36-year-old presenter would do a “very good job”.

He recently said: “I always say Vernon could do a very good job. He would be good. I said that five years ago. ”

‘Got To Dance’ winners Chris and Wes have admitted that they are grateful for all the support TV host Vernon Kay has given them and added that they’d like to teach him a few of their signature moves.

The street dance duo – who scooped £250,000 when they won the Sky1 show on Sunday night – admitted that Vernon’s supportive tweets probably helped them win and now they’d like to pay him back.

Wes exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “We were shocked when we saw Vernon Kay had tweeted us! To have that level of backing is just amazing, I think it really helped us. These people are seeing dance and entertainment all the time because they’re in the industry, so to have an impact on celebrities really is great.

“We’d love to help Vernon brush up on a few dance moves – I think he might need it! He can give us a call anytime and we’d be there in a shot.”

Meanwhile, the pair – real names Chris Donnelly and Wes Clack – revealed they are eventually hoping to star in their own street dance movie, as well as keeping up with their current jobs as dance teachers.

Wes added: “We still want to keep on teaching. We’d like to travel up and down the country and maybe across the world doing our workshops, but hopefully the show will be a bit of a platform for us. We’d love a street dance film, like ‘Step Up’ or something – that would be the dream.”

Bruce Forsyth has backed Vernon Kay as the new ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ presenter.

The 82-year-old TV veteran – who currently co-hosts the BBC One show alongside Vernon’s wife Tess Daly – hasn’t yet stepped down from the series but thinks while the ‘All-Star Family Fortunes’ frontman would do a “very good job” as his replacement, he would love Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt to assume the role.

He explained: “I always say Vernon could do a very good job. He would be good. I said that five years ago. There have been people bandied around for the past five or six years.

“Brad Pitt could take my place. It’s so obvious.”

Bruce – who joked while receiving the Special Recognition Award at Wednesday night’s (26.01.11) National Television Awards that now would be the “perfect time” to announce his retirement – admitted he is still considering appearing on the next series of ‘Strictly’.

He added to the Daily Express newspaper: “At the end of March, beginning of April we will have talks about ‘Strictly’ again. But after tonight it is very, very difficult when you see all those clips of things I’ve done – not in a big-headed way – it gives you a feeling of why not? So at the moment, why not?”

Bruce has already cut down his hours on the celebrity dance contest, handing over the reins to Claudia Winkleman for the Sunday night results show.

Meanwhile, Vernon is believed to be reluctant to sign a new deal with ITV1′s ‘All-Star Family Fortunes’ amid rumours Bruce could be on the verge of quitting ‘Strictly’.

Vernon Kay has reportedly refused to sign another contract with ITV, as he hopes to move to BBC for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.

TV executives had allegedly spent weeks trying to tie the ‘All Star Family Fortunes’ into another contract – he signed a £900,000 one-year deal with ITV in 2010 – but he refused to be tied to one channel and insiders say he is holding out for Bruce Forsyth’s job.

A source told The Sun:

“Vernon is desperate to get the Strictly job – and the BBC are very keen on him taking it.

“Bruce is his idol but everyone knows he may be off soon. Producers keep expecting the call from him any day to say he’s had enough.

“So Vern turned down another exclusive deal from ITV as that would have taken him out of the game if Brucie retires.

“He’ll still do Family Fortunes but they’ll just pay him a fee for every show he does.”

Vernon’s wife Tess Daly already fronts the BBC dance show alongside TV veteran Bruce. The 82 year old cut down his hours last year when he stopped presenting the results show and it is widely believed that he intends to step down altogether in 2011.

Producers are worried that the 82 year old presenter is growing too old and tired to withstand the pressures of the popular TV show and instead plan to offer the job to Vernon Kay, whose wife Tess Daly also fronts the dance extravaganza.

A senior BBC source told The News Of The World:

“Tess and Vernon is our dream line-up. It would completely refresh the show.

“They’re young, good looking and there’s obvious chemistry. We’re desperate to get Vern.”

“Vern’s the obvious option. Bosses want to revamp Strictly so it appeals to younger viewers while not alienating older fans. He fits the bill.”

It is thought that Vernon is keen to join the BBC, however he will only do so if Bruce leaves of his own accord and is not forced out by bosses.

A BBC source added:

“Brucie has been very good to Tess, and Vern looks up to him. He must be ready to go.”

Dermot told Heat magazine:

“It’s the biggest show in the country.”

“Unless you’re Jonathan Ross or Ant and Dec . . . if you say you’d turn it down, you’re full of s***.”

Dermot added: “Everyone else who says they’d turn it down, they’re lying.”

He also told Heat magazine: “Even Davina McCall wouldn’t turn that job down — she told me herself.”

Lets be honest, it’s a bit of a moot point. Vernon Kay and his cheesy grin weren’t likely to be offered the job anyway, were they?

Strictly Come Dancing Brendon Cole and partner R&B singer Beverley Knight were the most impressive performers last night with Watchdog presenter Julia Bradbery and singer Toni Christie coming bottom of the leader board but tonight Julia and Toni shot up to the top impressing us all with a wonderful duet. They shared top position with Cricketer Mark Butcher and classical singer Sarah Brightman. With eight couples being reduced to six we have the remaining competiors as follows:

Hannah Waterman (ex-Eastenders) and Wet Wet Wet’s Marti Pellow, Julia and Tony, Brendan and Beverley, Mark and Sarah, Eastenders’ John Bardon and soul singer Jocelyn Brown and Casualty’s Luke Bailey and Natasha Hamilton ex-Atomic Kitten.

In four days time, after voting out a couple each night, one of the couples will be crowned ‘Just The Two of Us Champions for 2007′ hosted by Vernon Kay and wife Tess Daly.

I admit to being a real Penny Smith Fan, even when she reads the news on GMTV in the mornings she is witty and oozes personality, more than some of the so called presenters they use. I’d be the first one to admit that she can’t sing, but hey neither could the Spice Girls and look what they acheived.

I enjoyed her and Curtis’ performance of ‘The Street Where You Live’ from My Fair Lady much much more than Russell Watsons and Sian Reeves version of ‘Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now’ which was out of key and boring. At least Penny was funny and entertaining to watch!

Had I been choosing who went tonight I would definately have kept Penny and sent Sian packing. Poor Penny has faced criticism every single night and responded with dignity. Maybe if she had collapsed in floods of tears like Sian she would still be in the show.

It was refreshing to see an honest celebrity for once….when Vernon Kay asked Penny if she thought she deserved to make it through to the semi finals she said no. How many other contestants, talented or not, would have admitted that eh?
