Cheryl Cole has overtaken Victoria Beckham in the battle to become The UK’s top earning WAG. Victoria has brought in £6.75 million over the last two years, with Cheryl earning slightly more at £6.9 million.

A source told The News Of The World: “It’s the end of Posh Spice’s reign. Queen Victoria is on her way out. And there’s a new princess ready to take her crown.”

As well as her music career with Girls Aloud, Cheryl also earns a handsome fee as a judge on ITV’s X Factor. On top of that she has recently landed a lucrative advertising deal with L’Oreal and launched a successful solo music career.

The source added: “There’s much more in the pipeline. She has the potential to be massive and leave other Wags – including Posh – behind.”

Glamour model, Jodie Marsh has admitted that thinks Victoria Beckham is more stylish than Cheryl Cole.

Marsh told Heat magazine: “I love Posh’s style. She’s very individual – she creates fashion rather than follows it – and seems to be the first to wear everything.

“I don’t think Cheryl has come into herself yet. She always looks good and is really pretty, but you can tell that everything’s been styled for her.”

She added: “I don’t see her as high fashion as Posh. Everyone on my local high street looks like Cheryl. I prefer Dannii’s style right now. ”

Given that Jodie thinks that it’s the height of fashion to go out dressed in belts, I don’t think Cheryl will be too hurt by this criticism!

Victoria Beckham has revealed that Simon Cowell refused to sign up the Spice Girls because he believed they’d be a “complete flop”.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on the American show ‘On Air’, Victoria said, “He is the only man in the music industry who turned down the Spice Girls and said we would never work. I like that fact.”

After Simon’s rejection, the girls were signed up by Simon Fuller’s company, 19 Management and of course, the rest is history.

Victoria Beckham has admitted that she is ‘beyond excited’ about being picked as a guest judge for this years American Idol.

The former Spice Girl was asked to stand in for some of the auditions when Paula Abdul left the show.

Beckham told The Mirror: “I am beyond excited. When I heard, I just couldn’t believe it. I feel like I’ve got the best job that there is.

“I’m just so happy and I can’t wait. I was in bed on Wednesday when I got the text from Simon Fuller saying: ‘You’re going to Denver.’”

She added: “I’m a big fan of the show – I come to the shows with the kids and David loves it. I’m just so grateful to be given such a fantastic opportunity. I’m still grinning from ear to ear.

“I’ll try hard to pout and not shatter the illusion I’m a moody cow… but I don’t know if I can!”

Victoria Beckham has been lined up as a celebrity guest judge on the upcoming series of American Idol and she has admitted that she is looking forward to some British banter with Simon Cowell.

“He has a very tongue-in-cheek, British sense of humour, which I have, too,” she told host Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. “I’m looking forward to a bit of banter. I hope he does give me a little bit of a hard time. I love that. I feed off of that.”

She added: “I want to be nice to people. I know how it feels to stand there and be judged… I don’t want to shatter anybody’s dream, but at the same time there’s nothing wrong with constructive criticism.”

Paula Abdul sensationally quit American Idol earlier this week, but instead of sticking with a three judge format, producers of the show have revealed that she will be replaced.

The show kicks off in January 2010 and Fox’s entertainment chairman Peter Rice has said that they will use temporary female guest judges (like Victoria Beckham) until they find a permanent replacement.

“Our intention is to have guest judges at each of the auditions,” Rice said at the TCA summer press tour. “Our intention is to have the guest judges be female pop stars, female performers, female artists. Between now and January we will come up with a more permanent solution (and) come up with a replacement for Paula. There’s also something exciting about that, and we’ll be looking to bring a different element and a different energy to this season.”

Victoria Beckham and Katy Perry are said to be booked. The auditions kick off this week in Denver.

Asked if there’s any chance of Abdul returning, Rice replied, “Our understanding is … we’ve concluded the negotiation.”

Sources are saying that Posh Spice is being considered as a judge for next years season of American Idol.

The rumour comes just a day after Paula Abdul announced her decision to quit the show.

A source told The Sun: “Paula’s absence leaves a big gap on the judging panel. At least 25 million viewers tune in every week.

“It needs a big star. Simon Cowell and Victoria have always got on. It would be an incredible coup to get Posh. She was in one of the biggest girl groups in history so she knows what she is talking about. Simon Fuller is now speaking to her.”

However Victoria’s agent has insisted that she will only be making ONE appearance as a guest judge and is not joining the panel full time.

Victoria Beckham is said to have turned down the chance to judge on American Idol as she is too busy with other projects.

Rumours abounded recently that Posh Spice was being considered ads a replacement for Dannii Minogue on UK talent show, X Factor, but Simon Fuller insists that this was not the case.

“We didn’t really think about her for the UK,” he said, speaking at the launch of The American Idol Experience at Disneyworld, Florida.

“It was more for here [America]. We toyed with the idea but she is just so busy with her fashion.”

X Factor insiders have denied that they are planning to replace Dannii Minogue with Victoria Beckham in this years series.

Speaking to The Daily Star sources say that Beckham is to cold for the show and would not translate well on TV.

One said: “Her über-cool image wouldn’t translate well on screen. They really need a big character, someone with strong opinions who’s not afraid to get into a row on live TV.

“Victoria is trying to carve a trendy career in fashion and there are fears she’d be too guarded when they really wanted someone to get stuck in.”

Favourites for the role include Robbie Williams, Lily Allen, and former judge Sharon Osbourne.

Last week Lily confirmed that she would love the role saying: “I’d love to do it if the opportunity arises. I love X Factor.

“I think it’s a great programme and I think I’d be quite good at it.”

The insider added: “Any one of those three would make a great judge.”

Last years X Factor only finished a matter of weeks ago and already tongues are wagging with news of whos going to feature in the next series.

Earlier today we reported that Lily Allen is after Dannii Minogue’s job and now it seems that Victoria Beckham may also be in the running.

The Daily Mail have reported that Mrs Beckham has been offered £1 million to appear as a judge on the show and that she is seriously considering the offer.

A friend told the newspaper: “She doesn’t want to come back to Europe with her tail between her legs. But if she can return here to be on The X Factor, then that is different.”

Publicist Max Clifford, Cowell’s spokesman, said: “Simon speaks very highly of Victoria. I know he likes her a lot. This deal has not been mentioned to me.”
