On last night Britain’s Got More Talent a discussion arose about whether or not singers should be allowed to enter the show. Many people hold the opinion that singers should stick to the X Factor and leave BGT for the dancers etc.

We asked Diversity front man Ashley Banjo if he thought singers should be allowed to enter ITV’s talent contest and he was very clear in his reply. He told Unreality TV:

“Talent is talent. Some singers may stand no chance of winning X Factor but do very well on Britain’s Got Talent. It is a different type of competition with a very different prize. On X Factor Simon is looking for the whole package but on BGT a singer may not be a huge recording artist but still have the ability to sell out theatres.”

Ashley used the example of former BGT winner Paul Potts to illustrate his point:

“Paul Potts probably would never have won X Factor but after winning Britain’s Got Talent he is singing all over the world. He has sold millions of records and sells out concerts everywhere he goes. Britain’s Got Talent was the right competition for him.”

Wendy Peters says she is on the show so that people will see that she is very different to her on screen character Cilla Battersby, but the facial expressions she pulls while singing are every bit as terrifying as those Cilla pulls when yelling at Les….and worse.

As I watched her sing tonight I though I was watching a horror film. Her eyes darted about in her head and she grimaced like (pardon the expression) a bulldog chewing a wasp. I almost switched the TV off until she had finished. but instead I just changed channels and watched Celebrity Big Brother instead!
