Former X Factor runner up Andy Abraham has spoken of the ‘uphill struggle’ he faced after finishing second in the show’s 2005 series.

Abraham was dropped by his record label after releasing his second album and though he is still working in the industry, he admits it was hard to succeed once the X Factor fever passed.

Abraham issued a warning to other losers saying: “They’ll realise quickly that the industry doesn’t want them.

“You’ve got to understand that the only reason your first single gets to number one is the X Factor brand, and when the costs are all added up, you don’t make any money out of it. Once the show moves on it’s an uphill struggle.”

However, Andy Pemberton of fellow 2005 act Journey South insisted that he would “never say anything bad about X Factor”.

“We make four or five times what I was making as an electrician. If it wasn’t for that show me and Carl would still be playing gigs in horrible pubs with our mum and dad sat there,” he added.

“I’ve been playing guitar since I was five and performing live since I was 15, so I have the history and the background,” Tabby told the Daily Record. “It’s crazy that people think they can go from flipping a burger to being an international star. They think that because they have been singing in the shower they are due success, but there is no quick fix.

“I think people can tell the difference between a real musician and someone who wants to be a superstar.”

Tabby is releasing a new single ‘King Of The Town’ on September 24, Unreality Tv wish him every success with the record. Tabby, to me is one of the most memorable X factor contestants. I believe he was truly talented. It wasn’t just his voice, but his energy and persona were entralling…..heres to his comeback!

I caught Maria’s new single Sleepwalking on The Box(I think?) a couple of weeks ago. It’s quite a slick tune, bit of a smooth urban vibe, and the video reminds me of Craig David’s Seven Days with Maria witnessing a series of mishaps then reliving them and helping to prevent them.

You can catch a snippet of the video on the Maria Lawson website, and according to the blurb Sleepwalking is coming out on 14 August.

By the way, I wasn’t impressed with the gallery. They’ve airbrushed Maria to hell and it’s not nice, takes away from her natural beauty. Grrr!
