X Factor winner, Leon Jackson has been asked to perform at Edinburgh Hogmanay street party this year.
“I am delighted Leon accepted my invitation to perform for Edinburgh’s fantastic Hogmanay crowd,” the city’s Lord Provost, George Grubb told the Daily Record. “He’s a true star in the making. All of Scotland is proud of him and I’m sure his appearance at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay will be an early highlight in a long and successful career.”
Swing singer, Michael Buble enjoyed singing on stage with X factor winner leon Jackson so much, that he now wants to record a track with him.
“As soon as X Factor was over, Michael’s PA was straight on the phone to try to set something up,” an insider told The Mirror. “Leon couldn’t believe it. He was completely bowled over.”
X factor runner up, Rhydian Roberts has revealed why he missed the shows wrap party this week.
Rhydian told The Daily Mail: “It’s Leon’s week and he should be celebrating and I don’t want people coming up to me saying, ‘You were robbed!’ Although it’s nice. I didn’t want to pull focus.”
Former X factor winner, Steve Brookstein, has offered some words of advice to this years winner Leon Jackson.
Steve was dropped by Simon Cowell’s record label after only 8 months, and his big recommendation is to keep Simon Cowell happy!
“[Leon] has got to be careful – he doesn’t want to fall out with Simon Cowell,” Brookstein told This Is Aberdeen. “They tried to get me to do a lot of cheesy things I wasn’t happy with when I was working for him and I said no. I was too long in the tooth for some things but maybe Leon should swallow his pride.” Read more & comment »
It looks like Leon’s management have gotten to Emily Biggs from rival band Hope. She has now denied that there was ever any romance between her and the X factor winner. She told The Sun:
“There’s no romance but I’m pleased he won. He wanted to do it for his Mum. We spoke yesterday and he’s over the moon.”
If there never was any romance, then why have the pair only decided to deny it now? It all seems a bit fishy to me!
It looks like a certainty. Another Christmas, another X Factor number one!
Leon Jackson is so far ahead in the mid week chart with his Debut Single, ‘When You Believe’ that the only song with a chance of beating him is The Pogues ‘Fairytale In New York’.
So come on people, you know you love that traditional Christmas jingle…..offensive lyrics and all!
As the number of complaints flooding into OFCOM grows higher and higher, the mother of X factor finalist Rhydian Roberts has asked fans to move on.
Angela Roberts, 56, said the family now wants to put the incident behind them, telling the South Wales Echo: “We are just asking the nation to let it go and move on. The competition is overstaying.”
She added: “We give our very best to Leon as a family and look forward to Rhydian’s own career developing as it should.”
She might have a point. It’s not like ITV are going to strip Leon of his title anyway!
X factor winner Leon Jackson is almost ready to release his debut single, When You Believe, and for those who just can’t wait to get a copy, you can get a glimpse of Mr Jackson’s first ever music video here.
Have to say I found it all a bit under whelming really!

ITV have released a statement saying that there were “no irregularities” in the X Factor voting system on Saturday night.
Although OFCOM have received more than one thousand complaints from Rhydian fans claiming that they couldn’t get through when they tried to vote on Saturday night, ITV have stated:
“We know there are many Rhydian fans who are disappointed that he did not win, but the simple fact is that Leon won The X Factor fair and square.” They added that in the end Leon won “by a full 10% of the vote”. Read more & comment »
Wouldn’t you think that all X Factor staff would be under contract to publicly support the TV show, and all who came from it?
Well obviously not, as X factor presenter Dermot O’Leary stated on his Radio Two show today that he preferred Christmas song, ‘Don’t Shoot Me Santa’ to Leon Jackson’s ‘When You Believe’.
Media watchdog, OFCOM have revealed that they will be carrying out an investigation into Saturday’s X Factor result after receiving several hundred complaints.
Many Rhydian fans claimed that they couldn’t get through on phone lines while trying to vote for him, yet people were able to vote for Leon over and over again. I know, my elderly aunt voted for him 27 times!
X Factor fan Sylvia Wardley told The Sun: ‘Between six of us we tried to vote for Rhydian 55 times, but only got through twice. We tried Leon and got through straight away.”
Rhydian’s father Malcolm, 60, said: “Rhyd’s not a bad loser, but he feels the same as us about the result – and we think it’s fix. He believes it’s possible he was stitched up. He’s disappointed for himself and his fans.”
