X Factor juddge Dannii Minogue and her protégée Stacey Solomon managed to grab a few seconds after last night’s results show, to thank fans for voting Stacey through to the next round of the show.

And it must be true, Dannii Minogue even posted to her own Facebook page!

On last week’s Xtra Factor, X Factor’s Joe McElderry was seen making a visit to his home town of South Shields.

In one shot, Joe was seen strolling down a dingy alley, full of discarded litter, rubbish and even an old sofa. Residents of the town have accused the ITV show of trying to paint them in a bad light.

Joan Anderson, told chroniclelive.co.uk: “When I saw it I thought they had deliberately done it to make it look like this is a poor area.

“Joe lives in a lovely little street, so I don’t understand why they had to show him in a horrible alley with a settee in the background.”

This week’s X Factor theme has not yet been confirmed, however we do know that each of the five remaining singers will have to sing twice on the Saturday night show.

The stakes are high and with only one week to go until the semi-finals, a lot will be riding on this week’s performances and song choices. Who do you think will excel?

Performing on Sunday night’s show will be Rihanna and Alicia Keys, with Rihanna reportedly guest mentoring the contestants throughout the week.

Outgoing X Factor singers John and Edward Grimes, have revealed that they changed their sing off song just an hour before the live show.

Last night the boys sang Boyzone’s ‘No Matter What’, against Olly Murs rendition of ‘Wonderful Tonight’. Today during an interview on This Morning, host Holly Willoughby said: “Every time I’ve played it back to you, there and when I played it back to you in the X Factor studio, you’ve both gone… eurrgh.”

John explained: “Originally we were doing another song, but then we switched over to that song because we felt it was suitable for now.

“I feel like we could have done a better job, but it’s okay, you know? I think we’re okay with it, it’s fine.”

Edward added: “It was an hour before, but it’s cool.”

Louis Walsh has been lamenting the departure of John and Edward Grimes from ITV’s X Factor.

Responding to critics who accused the boys of not being able to sing or dance, Louis said: “They’re getting better”.

He told Sky News: “We threw them in at the deep end but they’re actually getting better. They can dance a bit and they can sing a bit.”

He added: “They’ve got something, I don’t know what it is. They’re not great singers or dancers, but they’ve got something.”

Louis also denied rumours that they would be taking part in I’m A Celebrity saying:

“I don’t think they want to be in the celebrity business,” he said. “They just love pop music.

“We are just going to miss them so much… the show’s not going to be the same without them, the fun is out of the X Factor.”

Susan Boyle gave X Factor bosses a fright last weekend, when she turned up to do her performance sporting a new bright red hair colour.

The Britain’s Got Talent star reportedly tried to dye her grey hair at home, but messed up and ended up with vibrant red locks. ITV bosses called in top hair stylists to recolour her hair before she went on TV.

A source told The Sun: “It was chaos. “She was due on stage at 4pm on Saturday but at 1pm she arrived with bright red hair and a great big grin.

“The grey bits had completely soaked up the colour and were especially vibrant. There was no way she could have gone on stage like that.

“At one point they considered giving her a wig.”

On tonight’s Xtra Factor Holly Willoughby claimed that Stacey Solomon is the only remaining contestant that hadn’t yet found herself in the bottom two acts. However, being the eagle eyed reality TV buffs that we are, we knew that the gorgeous Joe McElderry hasn’t found himself in that position either.

So is this an indication of who will be in this year’s final show (which by the way is in three weeks time, yay!) and of who will eventually win? As we know, never before has an X Factor winner been in the bottom two, which means that if the trend continues either Stacey or Joe will be our 2009 winner.

John and Edward Grimes have finally been voted off The X Factor, though how got onto the TV show in the first place still baffles Unreality TV.

The boys have been a massive PR coup for the show, because love them or hate them you can bet that most of us talked, wrote, tweeted or facebooked about them.

They found themselves in the bottom two for the second time, this time against our favourite cheeky chappy Olly Murs. The twins sang Boyzone’s ‘No Matter What and isn’t it strange that for the first time since they started on the show the boys actually sang a song in which you could hear their tuneless vocals. Could this be a coincidence or could someone be wanting rid of these boys now that they have served their purpose?

Surprisingly Simon Cowell didn’t send the show to deadlock, isn’t it funny how decisive he becomes when it’s one of his own acts up for the chop? Cheryl also voted for Olly as did Ms Minogue and so it’s bye bye Irish boys. Anyone sad? Not us!

Susan Boyle performed her debut single, ‘Wild Horses’ on tonight’s X Factor results show. Well actually she pre-recorded it yesterday but we’re not ones for splitting hairs.

Unreality TV have never really been aboard the Susan train, she sang well on her first Britain’s Got Talent audition but the hype ran away with her and we never felt that she lived up to it on subsequent performances. However this song is goose pimply stuff, she had a couple of wobbly moments during her vocal but we’ll put that down to nerves.

If tonight’s performance is any indication of the rest of her album, we may actually have to buy a copy.
