Former X Factor finalists, One Direction – which consists of band members Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles – are to star in a one-off ITV1 programme in November, which will document their meteoric rise to fame.
Music mogul Simon Cowell reportedly convinced TV bosses to agree to the show after the band bagged their first-ever UK number one with their debut track ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ on Sunday.

The Sun today reports that former X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd is “secretly dating” a 21 year old hairdresser, with whom she is apparently smitten.
The paper states that 17 year old Cher is anxious to keep her new romance with Craig Monk a secret so that press attention isn’t diverted to that rather than the release of her single ‘Swagger Jagger’.
The couple met two months ago when Cher went to the ‘FOUR’ salon in Mayfair to have her hair coloured and to have extensions fitted.
She and Craig got chatting when they both went out for a cigarette, and “immediately hit it off.”
Essex boy Craig yesterday changed his Facebook profile status to “in a relationship” but he didn’t add Cher’s name, which was at her request. Read more & comment »

It may have been the day of The Royal Wedding, but last Friday Cher Lloyd was working as usual, this time auditioning dancers for her new music video.
The 17 year old X Factor star recently announced that when she releases her debut single later this year, she wants to give her talented fans a chance to share in the experience and invited wannabes to apply to become a backing dancer in the video for the track.
Following Cher’s Twitter request, she received hundreds of submissions and 50 hopefuls were eventually invited to the live audition in South West London last week.

The Daily Mirror today reports that Storm Lee, an X Factor contestant from last year, has allegedly broken the terms of his contract with the show.
The paper states that Storm has “risked the wrath” of Simon Cowell by releasing an album entitled ‘Soulfillapopkilla’ without Simon’s permission.
A show source told the paper, “Storm is back living in LA and returned to the studio days after the series finished.
“After waiting weeks to hear back from Cowell’s people to see whether he could fly solo, and not hearing back, he thought ‘sod it’, and decided to release it.”
As yet, there has been no official response from Simon or the show’s executives to the report. Read more & comment »

Simon Cowell has reportedly ordered that Cher Lloyd have 24 hour protection.
The 17 year old singer – who finished fourth in the 2010 X Factor series – caused crazy scenes at Heathrow Airport last weekend when she returned to the UK.
Cher had been in LA recording her debut album and on her homecoming, was mobbed by a crowd of almost 500 fans. Onlookers said that the situation was so serious, the young performer was taken home in a riot van, after an overwhelming amount fans tried to get a glimpse of Lloyd.

Amazon have listed Cher Lloyd’s album as available to pre-order ahead of its expected release date of August 22nd.
Cher has of course been in America working on the album which has been produced by Ronald “Jukebox” Jackson who created Willow Smith’s hit track Whip My Hair.
He’s also worked with John Legend, Janet Jackson and Red One, as well as stars such as Lady GaGa and Nicole Scherzinger.
Cher’s debut album is being released on Simon Cowell’s record label SyCo, but somewhat surprisingly, its August release date is two months ahead of the date given for X Factor 2010 winner Matt Cardle’s first album release… Read more & comment »

It seems that the date of the release date of One Direction’s new single may have inadvertently been leaked on Twitter.
A radio station’s DJ tweeted, “Calling all One Direction fans…
“We’ve just been told that their first single will be released on Sunday 13th March…
“6 weeks & counting! (sic)”
However, this is of course very much unofficial, and as the band are reportedly in America recording their album, it could be that the DJs in question are wrong… Read more & comment »

17 year old Cher Lloyd has told The Sun that she has some “insecurity” about her thin frame.
She told the paper that she would “do anything” to have a fuller more curvaceous figure.
She added, “My big insecurity is that I am too small. I see girls with curves and I’d do anything to be like that.
“I’m trying. I eat all the time.
“I think it’s bad people criticise me, a 17-year-old girl, about my figure.”
However, while many people have speculated that Cher may have an eating disorder, she denied this and claimed that she never diets.
She said, “I like a full-on Chinese, everything covered in sweet and sour sauce – with chips!
“I could eat that every day.”

Traditionally, due to various clauses in their contract with the show, the X Factor winner doesn’t release a new single until the following year’s X Factor begins…
However, it seems that Matt Cardle could be the exception to that rule as he’s written on his official website that he hopes to have a new single in the charts “soon.”

Cher Lloyd’s people are pulling out all the stops to make sure she gets noticed.
The 17 year old may have finished fourth on The X Factor last month, however the buzz around her hasn’t stopped since and we have possibly heard more about her than we have about show winner Matt Cardle in recent weeks.
Cher is currently in America making a start on her debut album. The young rapper has been working with Red One, who has previously produced records with Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias, Usher and Nicole Scherzinger. Black Eyes Peas’ Will.I.Am. will also be assisting on the creative direction of the record.
