Watch X Factor’s Leona Lewis On Oprah Winfrey

X Factor winner Leona Lewis appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show, singing Bleeding Love yesterday and blew the whole audience away.

Afterwards, Oprah announced: “A star is born!”

Leona’s single ‘Bleeding Love’ is currently number one in the US ITunes chart and is also the Billboard chart’s fastest sales gainer, guaranteeing her a place in the top 20 in the singles chart!

Is it just me, or does everyone else feel like they are a little bit invested in Leona Lewis? After all, it was us who voted for her to win X factor 2006. It is just fab to see her doing so well and not sinking into obscurity like so many other X factor ’stars!

Simon Cowell Likes To Spy On Neighbours

Simon Cowell - X Factor

X Factor judge Simon Cowell has admitted that he has installed a telescope in his LA mansion so that he can spy on his rich and famous mansion.

Simon was inspired by the iconic seventies movie ‘10’, where Dudley Moore’s character did exactly the same thing.

He told The Mirror, “I saw that Dudley Moore film and it was great. Afterwards, I got a telescope installed in my kitchen so I can spy on people.

“I look out over the Hollywood Hills into my neighbours’ gardens. It’s an amazing view. It isn’t powerful enough to see into their homes - so you can’t see them in the shower - but you can see into their gardens.

“It’s great fun. I just like to keep an eye on what is happening.”

X Factor: Andy Abraham Defends Leon Jackson

In a recent interview with Orange, former X Factor runner up Andy Abraham has defended this years winner Leon Jackson.

Many have claimed that the TV talent show has lost credibilty after Leon’s shock win, but Andy hit back saying:

“Leon was chosen by the popular vote, so how could that be lacking in credibility? Like Pop Idol before it, X Factor is a great opportunity for those with talent to be heard.”

“Leon is very young and will need support from those who have been given the chance to look after him. Not all winners will be to everyone’s taste but I truly believe that Leon has a great future ahead of him.”

X Factor Battle Of The Stars: I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing……

My son’s nursery school class was recording a cd today and one of the songs they had to learn was ‘I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing’.

So I was browsing YouTube this afternoon, letting him listen to different versions of the song that became famous from 1970’s Coke ads, and happened to come across this clip for X Factor Battle Of The Stars.

I had completley forgotten how terrible Gillian McKeith was, how much I detest Rebecca Loos and how funny the celebrity chefs were.

It makes me wonder why they had to cancel the show?

Mick Hucknall Slams X Factor And “Slimy” Cowell

Mick Hucknall

Simply Red singer, Mick Hucknall has hit out today at reality TV shows like X Factor and accused them of ruining the UK music industry.

I read this and laughed, knowing that this was simply another attempt by Hucknall to make the headlines, raise his profile and hopefully sell a few copies of his bands new album, which is coincidentially being released next week!

I have my problems with the sometimes contrived nature of the X Factor, and I have to agree with Mick, that it would be nice to see a TV show that focused on people who could write their own music or play their own instruments. However to claim that British music industry is “going in the toilet” in the same week that a British Recording Artist scooped five Grammys for her musical achievements is beyond ridiculous.
