On tonight’s Xtra Factor Holly Willoughby claimed that Stacey Solomon is the only remaining contestant that hadn’t yet found herself in the bottom two acts. However, being the eagle eyed reality TV buffs that we are, we knew that the gorgeous Joe McElderry hasn’t found himself in that position either.

So is this an indication of who will be in this year’s final show (which by the way is in three weeks time, yay!) and of who will eventually win? As we know, never before has an X Factor winner been in the bottom two, which means that if the trend continues either Stacey or Joe will be our 2009 winner.

Now it’s over to you because Unreality TV would love to hear your thoughts on the issue. Do you think Joe or Stacey can win, would you want them to win and if so, which one would you choose?

John and Edward Grimes have finally been voted off The X Factor, though how got onto the TV show in the first place still baffles Unreality TV.

The boys have been a massive PR coup for the show, because love them or hate them you can bet that most of us talked, wrote, tweeted or facebooked about them.

They found themselves in the bottom two for the second time, this time against our favourite cheeky chappy Olly Murs. The twins sang Boyzone’s ‘No Matter What and isn’t it strange that for the first time since they started on the show the boys actually sang a song in which you could hear their tuneless vocals. Could this be a coincidence or could someone be wanting rid of these boys now that they have served their purpose?

Surprisingly Simon Cowell didn’t send the show to deadlock, isn’t it funny how decisive he becomes when it’s one of his own acts up for the chop? Cheryl also voted for Olly as did Ms Minogue and so it’s bye bye Irish boys. Anyone sad? Not us!

Susan Boyle performed her debut single, ‘Wild Horses’ on tonight’s X Factor results show. Well actually she pre-recorded it yesterday but we’re not ones for splitting hairs.

Unreality TV have never really been aboard the Susan train, she sang well on her first Britain’s Got Talent audition but the hype ran away with her and we never felt that she lived up to it on subsequent performances. However this song is goose pimply stuff, she had a couple of wobbly moments during her vocal but we’ll put that down to nerves.

If tonight’s performance is any indication of the rest of her album, we may actually have to buy a copy.

Wham week wasn’t quite an inspired choice on Simon Cowell’s behalf but I always did love the track, ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go Go’. Tonight the remaining six acts performed the song for the opening of the X Factor results show and our first thought was, these people need to learn how to lip synch a bit better. Some of the boys were so out of times at places that they could have been singing a whole other song!

Ah campy pink and yellow colours and pure cheese performances. Yes, it really was an authentic take on cheesy 80’s pop.

On tonight’s X Factor Mariah Carey performed her newest single ‘I Want To Know What Love Is.’ It is the second single to be taken from her 11th LP Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel.

Mariah refreshingly wore a beautiful black dress instead of her usual next-to-nothing. I have to say, she was looking a little fuller figured (by which I mean chubby) tonight – I wonder if we’ll be treated to speculation about Mariah being pregnant in tomorrow’s papers? And wow, a vocal return to the glass-shattering high notes of yesteryear as well. What did you guys think of the Mariah performance?

So, the beautiful thing about tonight is, we really don’t care who gets booted. I’m just here for the Susan Boyle performance and to see what Mariah Carey’s boobies are wearing.

And we start with the ensemble performance. Ah, campy pink and yellow colours and pure cheese performances. Do you remember the days of fluorescent colour schemes? Oh yeah, they were singing Wake Me Up Before You Go-go.

And then we get a few minutes of gloating over the various X Factor chart successes – Leona’s album, the charity single, etc. We segue directly into a recap of yesterday’s performances.

SuBo returns

Yes, the wonderful non-winner of Britain’s Got Talent returns in excellent style. She’s singing Wild Horses from her debut album. Although we weren’t ‘wild’ about the single when it first came out, it’s a great showcase for Susan’s voice. Simply a great, subdued performance. But still, absolutely no idea how to do an interview. “Bloody fantastic!” she says to Dermot, live on ITV1, and you can almost hear the groans from the control room as they quickly cut to commercials…

Mariah!

After a little bit of speculation about the best and worst acts, we get treated to an awesome video montage reminding us just how good Mariah can be. Look at those hits! *cough cough* She’s here to perform her new single, a cover of Foreigner’s I Want To Know What Love Is. She does these soft rock cover versions from time to time…

Not very tense elimination bit

Indeed, Dermot, let’s welcome back the judges and the contestants to see who the public didn’t support this week. Wonder if the phone revenue has taken a hit this week as the nation used up all their phone credit voting for Katie Price to eat balls?

First contestant returned is Stacey Solomon, followed by Joe McElderry. The third act returning is…Danyl Johnson. So the conspiracy theories might be wrong? The last safe act is Lloyd Daniels – the boos from the audience are brilliant. That leaves Jedward squaring up against Olly Murs. It’s a massive “Oh shit!” moment. I’d be seriously worried that Lloyd is going to keep slipping through right up to the finals.

The Sing-off

OK, John and Edward are up first. They walk on stage to heavy booing, then break into a Boyzone classic – No Matter What. Meanwhile, Louis is probably giving a plethora of rude gestures to the members of the audience. It’s bad move to give Jedward a song that relies on singing ability – this is how they go out – even Louis introduced them in a defeatist way. Usually, he’s brimming with confidence for his act, but he seemed resigned to the fact that they were leaving this evening.

Simon – seemingly stunned that Olly’s dubious charms have worn off introduces Mr Murs. He’s doing a boybandified version of Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight. Go and listen to Clapton’s understated original to see exactly how bad this is, readers. Utter shite. I know he’s technically better than Jedward, but this guy is not the future of the British music industry.

Judgey Judgey

Simon tells Jedward he will miss them but sides with Olly. Likewise, Cheryl saves Olly. Louis chooses Jedward. Will Dannii save Olly, since he’s technically the best singer? She makes her big point about it being a singing competition. And finally, praise to Dannii, she drives the final nail into the Jedward coffin. Ahhhhhhhhhh, satisfaction! Cheerio, oddballs!

Interviewing Louis, he says “they made me feel young again”, and we all have a dirty laugh under our breath! Adding to the innuendo, John (or Edward) says he “hope Stacey and Olly go all the way”. Does he mean in the competition or in the romantic sense?

After recording her performance for tonight’s X Factor show, Susan Boyle reportedly advised John & Edward on how to deal with the negative press they have received.

“She spoke to them about her experiences and especially how to cope afterwards,” a source told The Daily Mail. “She also talked to them about some of the bullying comments she got from people before the final about her appearance.

“People have said John and Edward are a freak show, which is what they were saying about Susan. She said it was important that they had ways of dealing with the criticism.”

The X Factor charity single, ‘You Are Not Alone’ has scooped the number one spot in the UK singles chart.

The single, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, became the second-highest selling single of the year so far after selling 193,000 copies this week.

Judge Simon Cowell told the Official Charts Company: “I’m very proud of the single and I really hope it raises an enormous amount of money for people who really need our help.”

Dannii Minogue said that she was “delighted” with the news, while Louis Walsh said it was “fantastic” and joked: “And it means John and Edward have got their first, hopefully of many, number ones!”

Mariah Carey is reportedly planning a £10,000 champagne party for this year’s X Factor winner. Mariah has already pre-recorded her performance for tonight’s result’s show and so impressed was she with the staff and contestants, that she wants to do something special for the winner.

A source told The Daily Star Sunday: “She’s been really impressed by everyone on the show and thinks whoever wins deserves to feel like a superstar.

“Her favourite brand costs around £1,000 a bottle so not everyone can get their hands on it that easily!

“The X Factor champ will feel they’re on the A-list already.”

The source added: “She wants the winner to feel extra special and this champagne is certainly one way of making sure that comes true.”

X Factor twins John and Edward Grimes are reportedly being frozen out by the other contestants from the show. After the departure of talented singers like Lucie Jones and Jamie Archer, the acts are beginning to take their frustration out on Jedward.

An insider told The Daily Star Sunday: “The boys are really starting to feel like everyone hates them.

“They have been Public Enemy No.1 for weeks but the house was always their safe haven. But now they are also feeling the brunt there too.

“It seems the remaining finalists are starting to get fed-up with the twins surviving each week while more talented singers get the boot.

“Basically, nobody in the house is talking to them at the moment. Danyl won’t even stay in the same room as them and Olly and Stacey tend to steer clear as well.

“When they came down to breakfast one morning this week everyone walked out of the kitchen. It was really harsh.

“The feeling is that each week they are taking the place of someone who has a genuine chance of winning the title while they are just a freak show. They have each other though and they seem to spend all their free time together anyway.”

Mentor Louis Walsh defended the boys saying: “I can understand why people would be jealous of Jedward.

“They are the stars of the show. They don’t let anything get to them. And yes, they are a danger to everyone left in the competition.

“I hope they stay in it as long as possible because they really are lovely guys and great fun to work with.

“The X Factor is a highly-pressurised environment and it can bring out the worst in people. I can only hope that whatever is going on in the house is a one-off reaction and doesn’t last.

“Jedward have been through the mill right now and it has to be taking its toll on them. They are booed on the stage and if that has transferred back to the house then that is so unfair.

“But they are really positive people and I know they will rise above it.”
